Pretty disappointing experience with this company. Ordered an in stock item online and chose in store pickup. They don't actually have them in stock at the store, they have to come from the warehouse, so it wasn't available for pickup when I visited the store. I asked the guy in the store's when I could get it and he told me I needed to call customer service. It took me 10 calls to reach customer service and was given a time to pickup (same day after 5:30). I went to the store and the employee told me to come back in 10/15 minutes, when I returned I was told that it wasn't included in their daily shipment and I had to call customer service again. After another handful of calls I we told that the customer service girl would hand pick the order to ensure it was included and I could get it the following day. It was there the next day but 3 visits to the store to pickup an online order is inappropriate, this type of experience is exactly why traditional retail stores are dying. 2 stars are for how kind the customer service girl was, but the company/process itself deserves 0 stars. In store employees seem to have 0 visibility or knowledge, I was told that next time I should just wait for an email instead of going when I was told to. Cheap prices on some items but not worth the effort.

Great online shopping selection, and the best prices especially app exclusive deals. One of the only places that doesnt DRASTICALLY overprice there pokemon/ other card sets. Packages arrived undamaged and on time. Will continue to buy all my collectibles through hobbiesville app until a local shop has the decency to not overcharge/scam there customers

My experience was terrible! Got a book for a present and I paid for express Fedex 1-2 day shipping hoping to get it ontime. But only in the confirmation email does it say that they have 1-3 business days processing time. Regardless of the Fedex shipping (which in every online store actually means 1-2 day shipping and take priority if a client paid for it), they took all 3 days to process/send it AND just before the weekend (Fedex is not working on weekends), so it came only in 4 more days.

All in all, the $12 Fedex 1-2 days shipping to Montreal turned into 7 days. From Wednesday, May 8 6:40am to Tuesday, May 14 1:42pm

No help, consideration, or any attempt to send it earlier from the customer service. In response to my emails, all they did is send me a link to a burried policy where it says about processing time.

Hobbiesville is the best place to order cards online in Canada in my opinion. One day I hope to visit their actual store if I am in the area. Had some issues with one of my orders and Regan was helpful in fixing this issue for me. I appreciate their business and recommend anybody to shop up here.

Every pick up has gone smoothly and I tend to stick around a bit and get convinced to buy other random merch.. they have a good stock of random memorabilia and are knowledgeable about their inventory. 5 stars from me!

It's an ok shop.. Small and dark and musty smelling.. We went in looking for hockey cards. Relatively large selection of pre-owned cards. Smaller selection of hobby boxes and packs... Prices are average in most cases. Can't speak to the TCG selection, but seemed pretty large.

They have a bunch of tables set up in the middle for events...

They did have some cool hockey collectibles and random non sport items...

Hope, Regan and quiet guy in hoodie are very helpful. Product variety is great and store is easy to navigate. Lots of items available and never any issues with online orders. I like the point system online but can you give out more coupons with orders, like scratch tickets for discounts or buy one get one %10 off. Products always sealed and in good shape and online orders are always packaged and shipped with sweet sweet love and care.
I want to preface this review by stating I am not a resident of Ottawa - I do not frequent Game Breakers from an in-person perspective, however, I do consistently order from Game Breakers for card singles I cannot source locally in the Greater Toronto Area. As a brief TL;DR beforehand - Game Breakers has become my go-to source for any cards I'm looking for, and has absolutely ensured my business going forward with their excellent customer service.

I'll start first and foremost with their easy to navigate website. Finding anything I'm looking for is simple and browsing the selection is easy to do online. I've never had issues with finding what I'm looking for (except if it's actually out of stock.) Additionally, it's fairly uncommon for me to find products out of stock. Usually, Game Breakers has stock of things I can't find elsewhere - hence ordering from Ottawa to the GTA.

In terms of order times - I've usually received my orders within what I believe is an acceptable time frame. Game Breakers ships very timely, the wait usually comes down to the Post Offices, which I have no problem with, either.

Additionally, I've only ever had a single issue with an order - a simple stock issue on the site allowed me to place an order for a a singular card. This card was nothing special - I simply liked the special artwork of it enough to throw it into my existing order and thought nothing of it. Perhaps I collector's piece or a gift to a fellow TCG Player in my circles. Unfortunately, it didn't arrive. Game Breakers however did try to amend it within that singular order - they shipped me the normal, non-special art version of the same card. While I was AT BEST slightly disappointed, I really thought nothing of it. I emailed their Customer Service email on site, and got a response back explaining the situation from Daniel, who told me that the card I had wanted was not in-stock, apologized, and asked me if there was an alternative card I'd like as a replacement. I had already begun a fresh shopping cart on their site, and simply asked if I could get three cards of relatively close value. I really can't emphasize enough - this one missing card was not the end of the world for me, it was a passing thought at best of "Oh, that's pretty." I'll also clarify now, this missing cards value was at best a dollar in value.

To come full circle on this story - I had offered to pay the difference on this replacement order, including shipping. I can always understand mistakes happen, and I wasn't looking to try and make a fuss over something insignificant. Every other card I ordered in that order was present, accounted for, and packed immaculately.

Daniel replies to my email almost instantly, informing me they'll send the replacement order at no additional charge or shipping costs. I was certainly happy with this outcome, I could use these new cards in a deck.

Cut to today, and the end of this story. Not only did I receive the replacement cards faster than I thought, Daniel even included a promotional pack of cards as well as a demo deck. I couldn't believe the level of kindness involved in a customer "issue" that was at best, a one dollar discrepancy. The first thing I did was inform my friends who are also shoppers of this kindness - I think any business deserves the brilliant recognition of making a customer feel truly special - and I can assure you they've made more business back from my additional orders I'll be placing now as well as my friends new orders they'll be making. The second thing I did was immediately write this review after opening the parcel.

If Daniel or any staff at Game Breakers see's this or monitors their reviews, you all deserve the recognition of excellent customer satisfaction, and my undying continued support of your business. Please continue the fantastic work.
Hard working staff dedicated to finding what you need at a reasonable price. Diverse tcg events, overall a cool place to come play cards or check out their collectibles.
I've been coming here for a while, and I'm disappointed by their service recently.

I regularly order single pokemon cards, and so does my friend. Her last 2 orders have had a mistake. Once they forgot a card, and I called to ask them to put it inside her newest order. They forgot to put it in that one. This time, they picked the wrong card, so I need to go swap it out.

Additionally, when we picked up her order yesterday, Oct 7 2023, the lady at the desk was being rather nasty to my friend. She said that her order of 150 cards made her want to quit. She whined about how they were all from different sets and how she was miserable collecting them. She was snarky and asked us why we ordered them all. It didn't even feel like a joking matter, it just left us feeling awkward. This order was a gift for me, because I collect a specific artist's cards.

It's her job to pick orders, and this made my friend feel really bad. Now she doesn't want to place more orders because she feels awkward.

It's frustrating to me because their online ordering system is flawless, and their products are great. The service is bad.
If your looking for a welcoming card shop don't go to Game Breakers. I'm not one to go out of my way for giving bad reviews, however, I felt it was necessary as I continued to receive lousy service here. I was serviced by a guy name Dan and every time I visit their location he continues to talk to me rudely and overall has a poor/bad attitude. I never wronged this person ,so why is consistently being a jerk to me? I asked how much a particular card costs ( no price tag on card ) ands he answered it's on the website you should know that. In addition, NONE of the workers greet customers or at least offer a "hello" or a "Hey, were you finding everything okay?"

Long story short, I don't want to continue giving this card shop my business and I recommend you don't either.

If you value your hard earned money don't go to this shop, instead go to a shop that's polite and respectful to their customers.

Game Breakers , you need to do better.

If I could I would add zero (0) out of 5 stars.

Buyer's Beware...
This is a very good Local Gaming Store.

It is shared between a TCG vendor and sports card vendor. As such, the store lacks product lines that would be expected in a generic LGS, especially in the board game / accessories category.

Staff is friendly and helpful. It is weird and a bit awkward though that the owner of the store sits in the corner seemingly doing nothing other than spying on his employees and the store going-ons while pretending to do stuff online; but whatever, it doesn't really affect me.

The store is spacious, and hosts event nights regularly. Event nights are mostly only TCG related, but they draw a decent crowd and everyone has fun!

Their Binder POs system is managed well, and communications with the store have been efficient.

While they accept fewer card submissions / only higher dollar value cards, they always seem to have stock when I want to buy something, and most importantly, the prices are right in line with market, and sometimes even better.

This is a great place to deal TCG.
One of the most honest and trustworthy Card / memorabilia places I've recently discovered!

Was in the mood to check out a few card shops and discovered this beautiful Gem! The sign is a bit confusing as they recently moved.

Came here for some cards and boy oh boy did I leave here with so much knowledge!

Ask for Mike ! He's an awesome man honest and caring. He was patient and took so much of his time to explain things and how to spot good cards. He showed me a few tricks on how to analyze cards.

Price is fairly reasonable and is aligned with ebay pricing. I love how you don't need to pay for shipping! Halleeeelujahhhhh

This shop has lots of Hockey /Baseball/basketball and yugioh cards . There was people playing yugioh in the place as well.

It was an awesome discovery and I definitely recommend this place whole heartedly ! I will definitely be back here when Im back in town

Cheers

I ordered a booster box, and a dark sylveon v box. This is my first time ordering from hobbiesville so I didn't know what to expect, I choose the standered shipping. it was around 10 dollars and my package came within a week or so. So not a long wait and I thought it was going to be longer. Overall everything seemed legit and real. Not any fake cards or anything and everything came protected in bubble wrap. It came pretty early in the morning around 9am. I'm glad and happy ordering from hobbiesville and will order from them in the future as well, thank you hobbiesville for taking care of my package and making things easy. I got some great pulls as well
These guys are second to none, class acts. They were very kind to a ‘newbie’ (getting back into it after many years), and with such patience answered all questions and dispelled my apprehension about being nervous with my seemingly silly questions. I went in nervous and excited, and came out even more excited as these guys’ just made a loyal returning customer in me. So much better than a big box store and with many shop competitors in the city, their service, support and willingness to go over and above for a few packs of cards and a long conversation makes this place a shop to check in with. Well done gents.
