Review of Mysore Zoo

Mysore Zoo, also known as Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, is a popular tourist attraction located in the city of Mysore, India. Having visited the zoo recently, I would like to share my review of this fascinating place.

First and foremost, I was impressed by the vast variety of animal species housed in Mysore Zoo. From majestic tigers and lions to playful primates and exotic birds, the zoo offers a diverse range of animals from different parts of the world. The enclosures are well-designed and provide ample space for the animals to roam and exhibit their natural behavior. It was heartening to see that the zoo authorities have made efforts to create a habitat that closely resembles the animals' natural environments.

Another aspect that caught my attention was the cleanliness and maintenance of the zoo. The pathways were well-maintained and clearly marked, making it easy to navigate through the vast area. The enclosures were clean, and the surroundings were well-kept, contributing to a pleasant experience for visitors. The zoo staff members were also friendly and helpful, readily answering questions and providing information about the animals.

One of the highlights of my visit was the animal shows and demonstrations. The zoo offers various shows throughout the day, such as elephant feeding, bird shows, and reptile demonstrations. These shows not only entertain the visitors but also educate them about the behavior and conservation of these animals. It was a delight to witness the intelligence and skills of the trained animals during these shows.

Furthermore, Mysore Zoo places great emphasis on conservation and education. The zoo actively participates in breeding programs and conservation initiatives to protect endangered species. They have informative signboards and displays near each enclosure, educating visitors about the conservation efforts and the importance of wildlife preservation. This educational aspect adds value to the visitor's experience and creates awareness about the need for wildlife conservation.

However, one aspect that I felt could be improved is the availability of more shaded areas and seating options. Mysore's climate can be quite hot, especially during the summer months, and having more shaded spots would provide respite to visitors. Additionally, expanding the seating arrangements near popular enclosures would allow visitors to observe the animals comfortably for a longer duration.

In conclusion, Mysore Zoo offers a captivating experience for animal lovers and nature enthusiasts. With its diverse collection of animals, well-maintained enclosures, informative shows, and conservation efforts, the zoo provides a memorable and educational visit for individuals of all ages. I highly recommend visiting Mysore Zoo to witness the beauty of wildlife and to support their conservation endeavors.

One of best zoo in India.. well maintained atmosphere. Entry fee is 50 and camera charges 50 extra. Well worth for paying money. You can see Verity of animals and birds 🕊️. Even though battery vehicle option available for visiting the zoo,it's better to walk inside the zoo . Toilet and food facilities are available inside the zoo itself. It's take around half of a day for completely visiting the zoo..

Very beautifully built zoo, The nature inside is too good. There are every kind of animals that you know from all around the globe, from big cats to birds, water predators and land giants. The zoo is very crowded in weekends. Prefer to visit the zoo either in the morning or evening, since the animals are more active and you can enjoy their actions. The zoo has a very beautiful garden in which many varieties of plants and trees are present. The zoo also has food corner where you can get refreshments.
People who are interested in adoption of animals and taking care of their well being are welcomed here. The zoo is very well connected with public transport so there is no problem of transportation.

Best zoo. Well maintained and all locations are easily identified. Drinking water, toilet, baby room and other facilities are available. Need to walk 3 kms for full visit. Will get tired at the ending. You get battery operated vehicles for cost. Will find more rare spices. White tiger, Rhino are all the favourites.
Fees Rs.100 per person. Time 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Parking will be on opposite side of park.

It's is one the biggest zoo I have seen. Compared to zoo from Kerala it's quite bigger and have different types of animals. It is one of the best place to bring young kids. Zoo are properly cleaned they have entry pass tickets here. There is someplace where you could relax. I really don't agree with this caging system because I believe everything born here with freedom .

Amazing place to visit. One of the best place to visit with friends and family. You can easily spend 2-3 hours. The zoo is very neat and clean. Maximum animals are here in this zoo. Beautiful Birds, Leopard, Tiger, Lion, Bear, Elephants , African Elephants, Chimpanzee , Giraffe, Anaconda, Python, Deers, Black Bug, Hippos, Snake, Wolfs etc are there. It will take 2 hours by foot they also have battery operated car with can accommodate 10-12 persons at a time. There is small gift shop inside zoo. Best place to spend your weekend. Very peaceful atmosphere. A very nice well maintained zoo. Best place for children. You have to walk or move with a battery car almost 3 kilometers. The best part of this zoo is it is one way means you have to enter the zoo and move in straight the animals are kept left and right side of the road. The ticket price is 60 per person.

Very big zoo almost 5 km walkin with many animals and birds. You need at least 2-3 hours to enjoy and explore full zoo. And don't miss to carry your camera. It charge ₹80 on weekend and ₹60 on week days. online booking is also available but not required, you can easily get tickets. For take the full utilization of zoo you have to take care of few things:
1.do not take your luggage inside the zoo area. You can put luggage to clock room.
2. Plastic food rapper not allowed inside the zoo .
3.Electric vehicle are not helpful here..they stop only 3 times in specific place in 1hr trip and charge Rs.140 approx per head and In walkin you enjoy a lot more.
4.They have drinking (RO)water facility and benches to sit at small regular intervals. So, you can rest whenever you feel.
5.Vehicle on demand inside zoo is available on some particular time only. So if you are going with old parents then make you contact the zoo people for vehicle timing and entry accordingly.
6.Food: There is nice restaurant area with many options at reasonable price
7.Animals: you will find most of the Indian animals, mostly herbivores. Of course the great Bengal tiger and the majestic lions. The journey starts with birds, monkeys and reptiles. The gorillas were a great attraction which are no more but you can find species of monkeys. The elephants and giraffes are still a favourite for children.
well maintained place with good staff and good environment!!

One of the best zoo in India. Lots of animals. The zoo is very clean. The entry fee will be ₹50 and if you need to take camera a fee ₹50 also need to pay. There are two options for to see the zoo, you can walk around or you can take battery car. If you walk around 3.8 km walking distance is from entry to exit.

We visited in the month of Dussehra, so a huge rush was expected anywhere in Mysore. The main attraction of the zoo were the Giraffes, many of them towards the exit point. One could watch the magnificent hippos & rhinos from very close quarters. Also, we could see elephants from 65 years old ones to 2 month old. Overall, a satisfying & enriching experience, and a delight to our kids.

Well maintained.
Advice: let’s not disturb animals. So, throwing food and making noises have to be stopped.
