Goonies!! This was where Mikey's dad was working in the film so plain and simple, it's awesome.

This house is amazing in person. I wish we could have gone to the top floor. I also wish it was more than a simple self guided tour. I visited this due to The Goonies movie and knew nothing about it. I’m the curious type and had quite a few questions about the home that unfortunately went unanswered.
Für Fans der Goonies ein absolutes Pflichtprogramm. Das historische Haus befindet sich praktischerweise direkt gegenüber des Film Museum und sieht auch ohne Filmkenntnisse toll aus.
It was a self guided tour, but the ticket taker was incredibly knowledgeable and told us more of the history of Astoria. The house was beautiful, and the craftsmanship was outstanding.
We love this place. Such a beautiful historic home. As the guides questions when you go, they are always so knowledgeable

Wow. A beautifully well-kept treasure of the community. A lovely self guided tour.

We didn't know about purchasing a 3 museum ticket to get a discount, so make sure you ask about getting the pass for the Oregon Film Museum and the Heritage Museum.
Came in at the 4:30 for "last call" tickets and was refused while being told, "It wouldn't be worth it to take you in."
Never been told I "wasn't worth it" anywhere before. That was a shock!

In my opinion, if the place actually closes at 4:30, it should be stated as such, not 5:00 like it claims on the door and other information.

Then, my mother had a fall on the grounds due to many small pebbles being placed on a steep hill near some seating. Really poor choice of where to put pebbles in an area frequented by older folks.

Extremely disappointed and so surprised by the service. Not coming back and won't be recommending to others.

We have been members since 2019. This site is an essential stop over for visitors/new residents who want to know about the history of Astoria. There is settlement and there is development. Flavel was the master of development. He accomplished more than any one people could do today. The house and grounds are gorgeous, well kept up and lovingly cares for. Some days I visit just to sit and absorb the surroundings.
Located in the Flanel House Carriage House and home of the Flanel House Visitor’s Center. Visitor Center includes a video presentation, gift shop with vintage replica items, penny pinching machine and room of vintage items on display and historical information.
great place to visit if you are researching ancestors in Clatsop County.
Lovely little gift shop and museum inside. There's a penny smashing machine for you to make your own souvenir. This is the place where you buy your Flavel House Tour tickets. There's also a short film that you can watch before your tour. Very friendly and helpful staff to answer all of your questions. :-)
