Be very careful. They were very good with sales and instillation process but some years later I got a squirrel nest under my array. They never suggested or installed any guards at any point of that process, I didn’t know.
Called to have them come out they said they would need to install guards but that would be extra. Came to get rid of nest and install critter guard. Found squirrel had through most of the wires requiring entire panel to come off and have wires replaced at multiple thousands on dollars cost plus almost $2000 to install mesh wire critter guard. Was told this was a giant fire hazard!
Just weeks later squirrels are back under array with new nest I see where they are going in. Get ladder and go up and look, it is high roof not something I like to do. The mesh guard in some places barely touches roof line. It’s like a swinging door for squirrel. Terrible instillation.
I call and get some story about they didn’t have the brand of critter guard they usually use so guess some some sub-standard version was used. They come out now at no cost after I complain and install the news guard. All good?!?! I wish.
Two months later they are back I watch and notices another spot they seem to easily go in and out. I get ladder out and inspect. They didn’t attach the seams of one strip of critter guard to another there is a huge gap my whole arm could fit through was left. I bought some zip ties attached them and problem solved the opening was on low side of roof easy for me to reach.
While up there I notice my gutter is littered with wire clippings and the special hooks used to attach guard to the array, there was absolutely no clean up done.
Wish the story ended there but they are back and now they are going in and out at the peak of the house which I can’t access the pitch is to severe for me to go check, but looks like another seam not sealed.
I have been calling and all voice mails are full and sending texts as I have their cell. NO responses. They said this is fire hazard wonder what their liability would be if a fire did break out.
I am working with exterminator on squirrel issue but avoid this company!!!!

Six years ago we chose Sunlight Solar to install a system on our new home after interviewing 3 other companies. It was one of the best decisions we've ever made. Their office staff and installers are friendly and knowledgeable. They do quality work! I would strongly urge you to check them out before you make your final decision on such a major purchase.

Sunlight solar did my roof and installed solar panels the did an excellent job. I want to give special thanks to Nathan Hernandez he is very professional, very knowledgeable about the solar system and guide me through it with ease, also very patient since my husband and I had so many questions. I would definitely recommend SUNLIGHT SOLAR.

Thanks you Nathan Hernandez to help me with this project. I am very pleased with the job. installed in one day awesome

Our system is 32 315 w LG panels that we purchased (no lease) in 2015. Our experience with Sunlight Solar was outstanding from start to finish. They were not necessarily the lowest priced bid we entertained but they were competitive and their explanation of the costs of the various options, and the reasons for those specific costs, were the most comprehensive and honest of all the installers we interviewed. Prior to installation, their engineers worked with me to help me understand all of the components and technical aspects of our system. I had done a huge amount of reading and research on solar technology, and their guys were extremely patient with me as I geeked out completely about every technical detail of the operation. Installation was on time and very thorough in their attention to detail, including having a low impact on our household while they were there and in terms of general care for our house, clean-up, etc. They were attentive to our concerns about roof leakage (we have had zero issues since 2015 installation), and their electrician did an outstanding job integrating the solar system into our current electrical grid - including doing some upgrading and cosmetic improvements to the placement of boxes and wall-mounted equipment on his own and without charge. He was so good actually that we immediately re-hired him to upgrade our home electrical grid to 220 volts. I really cannot say enough good things about this company and I can also testify that after installation, they have been great about answering questions, checking on minor concerns, and in proactively keeping up with the functioning of our system. In a final semi-related note, I will add that our system performance exceeds the estimate Sunlight gave us for overall power production by about 2-3 megawatts per year (yes, MEGA) and due to this we have not paid UI anything but their "admin fee" since 2015. That, I can tell you, makes all the upfront cost worth it.

The output estimate was below the actual production so I have only been paying the basic $ 19.25/billing cycle with enough banked to get me through the cold months. Since we have an electric boiler and live in an area with some of the highest electric rates in the country, everything helps.
Once the permits were in place, it was a smooth and seamless installation. Everything was completed in one week and after inspections and a net meter installation, the project was close to being on time.

The Sunlight Solar team was excellent. The salesman was knowledgeable; the installation crew was fast, polite, and professional. I especially appreciated the Construction Coordinator keeping me informed every day of the progress of the installation and what to expect next.
The system is making 20-42 kWh every day. When the summer comes I will be making plenty more and will be showing off the credit on my electric bill. Our system has a 7 year pay-back which we felt was reasonable.

Im not sure who the other reviewers worked with but we have nothing but positive experiences with Sunlight Solar. John and the other designers did a great job and were very personable and attentive. In fact, we went through 3-4 redesigns to get the exact system configuration that I was looking for and even examined solar hot water. We participated in the CT Solar Lease and Sunlight Solar expertly handled a turn-key process. We had a 6kw PV system installed with monitoring and thus far (1 month in) everything is great. The install went smoothly, they were very clean and professional and we never had any problems with inspections. CT Clean Energy Fund likes them and we would recommend them to anybody! Thanks guys!
