Old 1900s Romanesque red brick church turned into entertainment venue on Fremont street. The old pipes of the old pipe organ form the back of a bench outside off the front in a cozy side niche with a tree.

Very nice performance space, smallish, but good acoustics and sight lines. I was there for a Moth story slam.

I had a wedding reception here on August 2nd, 2024. While everything leading up to my out of state wedding went smoothly, (I live in California) I am completely disappointed with the way Fremont Abbey handled a situation that happened during my party. We had a perfect reception, everything was going smoothly until there was no A/C at this venue. Instead of telling me or my husband at 4:30pm when they found out, I was not informed until I arrived to an extremely hot reception party 20 minutes before my guests arrived. The staff did what they could (bring in fans and portable A/C units) but that wasn’t until the requests were made by my family members. After the party, I brought up how upsetting the situation was and I was told by the coordinator that they would not compensate at all. Actually, I owed them $700 is “fees”. He further stated that they would waive it because of the situation. How nice of them… They are extremely unprofessional. When I replied on August 8th a rebuttal, they never wrote back. I also still have not received my 800 security deposit. This place has a bunch of hidden fees and they seem like they just want to scam you out of money. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Extremely disappointing because this place is beautiful and it was such a good time besides me sweating all night. If only they would be more professional and actually fair when situations like this occur. I felt so bad that my guests flew in from out of state to a hot and horrible night. Thanks Fremont abbey for making my day not as special as it should have been and making me feel embarrassed. :(

Reply: I will not argue with you. Long story short I paid 4k and thought I would get at least some cool air for my party. It is a basic necessity and to think! I only had 60 people. I can’t imagine your max “200” You didn’t provide what I thought was acceptable and tried to justify it with “charges” like my one trash bag left behind. You only replied after I posted this one star review even though I sent you an email weeks ago. You are unprofessional and rude. Thank you for nothing. What type of business doesn’t want to look after customers? Extremely disappointed in your response. Have a great life.

Just recently helped coordinate a wedding here. The space is beautiful, with a variety of amenities and gorgeous light — but it’s the competent, helpful staff that make it a gem of an event space.

Don’t sleep on the excellent events they host - from dance classes to concerts. One of the art scene gems of the north end.

love their classes and the instructors that they bring to share their knowledge with the community !

We watched Among Authors, and we absolutely blown away.
They usually have great talent, and the acoustics of the building will give you chills.
Definitely a must visit

They hosted a free swing dance event on Easter Saturday at Hyatt Regency Bellevue, but a 15-buck COVID test was required. The requirement was not available on the event webpage.

Seems that they made a lot of money from a “free” event.

The venue is okay, the stage is really good, you can see from every angle, the acoustic is very good and the place has a chill vibe which I enjoyed. I went to watch some friends play and I had a nice time, the restrooms were clean but they could use a renovation.
