"A harmful blue-green algae bloom has been confirmed at Rice Lake within the Danada Forest Preserve. This algae poses a risk to pets, children, and individuals with weak immune systems if they ingest or inhale contaminated water."

Great place to walk or bike. There's plenty of nature to observe. Trail is long and winding with hills. I've seen plenty of people fishing here as well.

Awesome forest preserve for walking and fishing !
Would be nicer if people didn’t litter.

This lake is at the very beginning of the trail that winds through the Danada House and farm. Great for bird watching and nature walks. It's also fun to bike, walk, or run. Lots to explore

Update: 6/12/ a fellow Fisher told me last week that there was a Water Moccasin snake living in & around the lake. This is not quite true. I ran into the snake, took some pics & used Google Lens to determine the type. It was an Eastern Fox snake. A constrictor, not fatal to humans.

Great little lagoon! Fantastic fishing!! Blue gill, small/ large mouth bass, catfish. A great place to fish!!

Beautiful, but not a swimming lake.
