The one star reviews are simply untrue I attended at hope from 6-7th grade before moving to another school, st hope truly was one of the best schools that attended not only attempting to push me academically, but emotionally when attending st hope I was a wreck education and emotional wise the councilors from Miss Castro the the principal miss p stabilized me emotionally allowing me to go into the real world with better social skills and for that I will always thank them for, If your Child has a IEP or anything that requires them to need for special attention please please please take a look at st hope because they are a school that care about there students, I wish all of st hope staff the best and thank them for what they did.

This school needs to be shut down. They are not honest, they keep things from parents. They do not give the students what needs to be successful and the communication is horrible. They need to be accountable for their actions.

Not very good school rules. Reason number one is that because my daughter brought a pepper spray to school she had to get suspended for 2 days like she did not spray it on any body or hurt anybody with it and didn’t want to hurt anybody with it but the school believed that she wanted to hurt somebody with it when she did not

I Like my School I was in this school for 5 years.i hope i can stay in this school. the teachers are great at their job. great learning place. So Clean Never A Mess. Oh the food is so good there Pizza, Buggers with Veggies Milk Not juice. Over All its a GREAT School i'm so lucky to be in this school. Btw there's no bullying in East Harlem Scholars Academy. And the High School is the same like East Harlem Scholars Academy But its in a Old building. They Are still working on the high school so it can look not that old! And they help scholars for tests and state test they even have satruday school for scholars that need help. they also have Art, Music and etc to show your feelings for those things. and also they have after school for activates to show how much you love art and music and etc. they also have A WInter and Spring spectacular to show how much you like singing! Over All i recommend you to go to this school.

This school truly doesn't care about its students and there mental health by making them do ally of work and make them have a lot of stress and not helping them. The staff is terrible and they don’t care for no one but themselves

Good School

When this school first began my children where enrolled and I was pretty fond of the school, until now. Changing principles like every week. All the good teachers leaving , and short on staff and now I see why. After my children being there 7 years since kindergarten and now in middle school this school has gone down hill. Ratchet staff members screwing down to children’s level,staff members making fun of children’s clothing and using profanity in front of children to Gym teacher stafff “coaches” saying kids are not good enough to join a team that was just created this year won not one game because “coach” don’t like to take opinions from parents . Does the same play over and over and doesn’t allow children to play. He only chooses the same kids to play. Had kids on benches the whole season with no hope and no motivation. Only Favoritism.my son was on the basketball team and that coach wasn’t the coach they had a different coach , Mr Snowden was actually the best. Motivating all his team mates no matter if they where wack or the best like the football coach tried to say and discourage some kids saying they where wack and only the best of the best play.It’s even difficult to communicate with the school. They barely resolve anything or get back to you. So much bullying going on in this school it’s ridiculous and nothing done. Staffs and teachers only reprimand some kids . But if the staff/teacher is afraid of the parents that kid is allowed to be a bully and do as they please with no repercussions.I have children in all grades kindergarten third 6th and 7th and all educational level is horrible now. When my 6th and 7th grader began there they had so many rules and they abide by it. Pushed students. But all those staff and teachers and principles left. Now they just hire anybody. I’ve even heard they hired teachers with no license to teach. Hope they can get it together one day but definitely getting my children out of there this year. Thank you!

I used to go to this school and it was a great place...they stabilize discipline in every student so they can be great and successful.

Hmmm.... I find some of these reviews really odd, I think this school is overly communicative, to the point of being annoying. I am always getting calls or texts, from the teachers and staff reporting on my son's behavior or work. I think overall it is a good school. The schoolwork is challenging, lots of afterschool choices, they even have Saturday school for kids who are struggling.The new building has air conditioning and an elevator. Its super clean. I didnt like the founding principal (Ms. Batista Sao- Roque) but as the school expanded she has delegated her responsibilities to other principals. The only con about this school for me is the fact that the gym and auditorium are all one space so its really uncomfortable for performances.

I have to agree with everyone on here...my daughter and her friend recently got in trouble because a bully lied about them bullying her and got one suspended and my daughter got detention but when the actual proof of the little girl who was”bullied” was presented that she was the bully all they did was talk to her but mind you my daughter still got detention and her remained suspended and their lack of communication really sucks there’s never anyone in the office to answer your calls....it’s crazy in public schools theirs a million people in the main office to answer all calls my thing is where’s the principal or vice principle at in all this? I will be removing my daughter from this school it’s crazy how they pick and choose what to complain about and what situations should be handled smh

This has got to be the most uncommunicative school ever. the Staff are horrible. The school is so unorganized and they honestly don't have the school and kids under control. Office staff are rude and unprofessional. and teachers would rather tell students to move schools and not deal with them. Get better stuff and Directors

My daughter just started this school in August. It was going well until now that we in Oct ,2018 . Every day she comes home saying that she’s getting bullied on by a boy that has ADHD . ( that’s no excuse to get bullied on)The teachers talk to the boy AND NOTHING WAS DONE !!! I’m to the point where I’m trying to get her out of the school as soon as I find another school . I get a phone call every day cause my daughter knows how to defend herself!! If not she’ll be stressed out. Can’t wait for her to leave this school !!! To be honest the kids are very disrespectful to their peers .. KIDS GO TO SCHOOL TO LEARN NOT TO GET BULLIED ON....

Dis is the worst

My son was bullied and nothing was done about it. Now my son is more rough and aggressive from defending himself for 5 months. I am not sure how it is there now, but it was awful for us.

they sell you a lie to get your child in the school and once your child gets in all hell breaks out. i agree with the reviewer who said they are quick to call ACS that is so true. The school is so unorganize i went to pick up my grandson (who is not there anymore) i was shock to see kindergardens playing in the hallways while the teachers were in the class room i had to inform the office staff of the situation. I think put their children in that school just say children attends a charter school. The school also has a fire hazard one day when my grandson was in the school i notice that the school had gotten new cubbies in the hallways for the kids to put their coat and book bags in i was in shock to see coats and book bags on the hallway floor god forbid i there was a fire so many kids would get hurt or even killed i did inform the staff that and when i came the next day it was the same. please do not send your children to that school and the ones who rated high are either the staff or parents who click with the staff. My grandson is in a better school(public) and he is so much happier now and is always happy to go to school. i want to say there are good public school you just have to do research.

one of the teachers at my childs school has told my kid that she couldnt beat her. which i found offended me because all my kid did was burp. i dont understand why a teacher has also yelled in my kids face. im very upset this school is unprofessional.

Hello, I went to this school before, but i want to remain anonymous. The bullying in this school is controllable, and the teachers seem to have trouble with helping students sometimes. I really enjoyed this school for most of my life since pre k, but i really wouldn't recommend it

The EHTP program is GREAT but the school is far from it very disorganized they failed
7th grade with there math which is the most
IMPORTANT year in middle school. I feel so bad for the teens there basically stuck in the building with no fresh air for 9 hours plus the building is small so it’s worse. you would forget that this is a character school smh.Theres been fights in the classroom which is so unprofessional for a charter school.

I love St.Hope Academy.They have a great school curriculum and communication system. My son has grown tremendously in the last few months. I am very happy with everything.

This school is lax when it comes to there bullying policy. They don't believe in expelling or suspending children even in the worse case scenarios when expelling or suspending a child is absolutely necessary. The higher up's are the problem!!! The teachers are great but are fearful of challenging the higher up's when it comes to decision making because of fear of loosing their jobs. It's all about politics, testing, and money with this school. It should be called Nightmare school instead of Dream. I took both my kids out of this school and put them in public school.

Its a great program. It helps youths to build on their dreams and build self esteem to be postive people with a plan.

Kipp has the best teachers and learning system. They meet all my expectations for me. I love and recommend this school

Staff loves interactive with the kids.

Negligence has been a serious issue at this school. My kindergarten sons' property has been damaged (numerous times) in a way fingers can not possibly damage property such as book bags, uniform shirts and sneakers. My son was forced to walk home from this building with a gash in his right sneaker, keep in mind this was only his 3rd day wearing his new sneakers. No one is able to tell us how his property is being destroyed despite the fact that there is always more than one adult present. Dean of students Mauricio Rojas has been very unprofessional as well as dishonest. He has called my personal phone at inappropriate hours. He also contacted me during work hours to tell me that my son stabbed a classmate with a pencil which we later found to be false. I don't appreciate anyway making false accusations such as this one about my 6 year old, black in America son.
Rojas is now being promoted to Director of School Culture and Family Engagement despite what has transpired. I've met with multiple staff members and filed a formal complaint; the help has been inadequate! So much so that I recently sent a service request to the Mayors Office and plan to reach out to City Council shortly. My family are not victims, we are soldiers. We stand up and fight for our children as well as what's right! ..... 💓

My son really loves going to school now. He is progressing nicely. He used to make every excuse to stay home from school, now he wakes up ready to go with no problem. The school staff are very supportive. They make themselves available for students and parents as well. We love St. Hope Leadership Academy!

The staff in this school is very unprofessional. They care more about a paycheck then helping the children out with their needs.... Principal and staff all need to get fired.

I just saw while passing, I felt it's good school

Some of the teachers are really committed to the students doing their work, but lately the budget has been tight because of the low state test scores. A few years back the school use to be really good we got to go on trips at the end and the beginning of the year and a lot more in between. Now we barely go on trips and the new teachers don't fit the needs of the students. I hope the school improves because it was really good before.

Absolutely love the school. I have twins that graduated from there and now attend their H.S. College Prep School now, and my fourth and youngest will most likely also attend the School.

One of the most academically challenging school for Latino and African descendants in New York City. It's been truly a pleasure staying in this middle school for 5th through 8th grade, the teachers really care about students individually and socially.
