Harry did a phenomenal demonstration of glass blowing. He is incredibly talented; amazing craftsmanship. The people in the shop....not so much. Chinese guy was extremely rude. I missed a good portion of our tour because he set my item aside and refused to hand it to me even thought it was paid for and I had my receipt. When he finally wrapped it up, I thought he was going to break it. Then the woman taking payment asked if I had a problem and that wrapping items takes time. She didn't realize that others after me had already had their item handed to them. I thought about buying additional items but, now, after that....nope. A solid 5 for Harry and the person working with him. Not so much for other staff.

Great little place with some fun art! I'm not much of an artsy person so didn't appreciate it as much, but my mom was in love and asked all the questions! Very helpful lady at the desk and we look forward to checking out their classes.

Came for the glass blowing demo not knowing what to expect, but I was BLOWN away (pun intended)!! The experience was super informative while still being so much fun to just sit back and watch. The store front has many beautiful pieces for sale as well.
This place is amazing. I organized an adult party in the evening and Lynn and her staff were fabulous. She has a gift for making painting accessible to people with a variety of artistic ability levels. But the thing I was most impressed with was the way she created a fun vibe for a group of women who didn't all know each other. She was so genuine and the event was wonderful, even though many of us were strangers to each other. 15/10 would recommend, especially if your attendees aren't all friends already.
Absolutely wonderful! Open galleries and plenty of styles. We ended up coming home with ergonomically fantastic rough cut espresso and tea mugs 😍
She can teach ANYONE to paint! Very talented.
Omg! Came here with my friend and we had so much fun making our gnomes. Can't wait to come back and paint them. The ladies here tonight were full of life and helpful. Lynn the owner. Claire. Jordan. Lorilee. Yall are so sweet. Keep making people smile! 😍❤️
We came in spur of the moment and did not have much time before closing but the staff was really welcoming and nice! They explained us how it worked and helped us get started. There is a lovely and calm atmosphere. Staff is patient and available! We had a lovely time!

AMAZING Experience!!! Hailee helped us, She was so sweet and knew her stuff! She showed me a few new techniques from their idea center that I would have been scared to attempt without guidance. I went for a girls night out but they have an awesome party room too!

My wife and I came for a date night. We brought a bottle of wine and a small snack tray. Staff was super friendly and helpful. We had a great time. My wife loved it so much that she has been back multiple times with friends and alone!
We did the date night class and it was the perfect alternative to our norm of dinner and drinks (although you can bring your own!).

Bella was our instructor and not only did she really know her stuff, she also had the patience of a saint. Someone please give this woman a raise!

This was a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere which helped because we were all newbies. A fun and different experience that I would highly recommend!!

I've been volunteering at Creative Clay for 15 years, and it has been more rewarding and life-enriching than I could have ever imagined. It carries out its motto – equality through art – in every program, every community partnership, and in every experience it offers its clients. It is transformative. It is joyful. It is an incredibly well-run, professional organization fostering creative expression and support for those with disabilities, and a stunning, vibrant arts environment for visitors.

Wonderful mission and purpose. And, we LOVE that we get to fill our home with art and meet the artists.
Wonderful extension of the Morean Arts center. Ever wanted to get your hands dirty throwing clay pots? This is the place for you. Classes for every level and membership opportunities for studio time. Kids classes and camps too!

My wife and I recently took a pottery class at Charlie Parker Pottery and we had a great time! The instructor, Bo, was very knowledgeable and patient, and he helped us learn the basics of pottery in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

We started the class by learning how to center the clay on the wheel. Once we had mastered that, we moved on to making bowls. We also learned how to decorate our pieces with glazes.

We were both surprised at how quickly we picked up the skills of pottery. By the end of the class, we had each made several pieces that we were proud of.

In addition to the instruction, we also enjoyed the atmosphere of the studio. It was a small, intimate space, and we felt like we were part of a community of people who were passionate about pottery.

We had a minor hiccup with registration at the beginning, but the studio was very responsive and helpful in resolving the issue. Overall, we had a great experience and we would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning pottery.

Just so happened to stumble across this hidden gem when looking up fun ideas on google for summer fun. “Things to do with kids “ lol . So GLAD I did. We had an AMAZING time. The atmosphere is so relaxed , Very clean . No one is rushing you , Everyone on the staff was sweet and helpful and offered explanations before we could even have a question to ask. . The value for your dollar is the best I’ve seen. We had a whole afternoon of fun for a great price. All you pay for is the ceramic you choose. All paint , tools , Extra crafty ideas is included in the price. We will definitely be repeat customers. I’ve already been recommending this place to friends and we just went today ! Date night , family night , girls night. Perfect for all occasions.

For those feeling crafty or wanting to put a stamp of originality on their lifestyle, this colorful little stop is housed in an old bank location. A wide range of decor and housewares are available for painting your way, with up to 6 colors. There are plenty of tables and the staff is friendly and helpful. Great place for families, kids (with appropriate supervision because these are fragile obviously) or even for groups.
Working with clay always fascinated me, though I'm no good at it myself. Regardless, the Morean Center For Clay was an authentic experience of various works of clay of people from all walks of life. The admission is free, and the only thing you pay for is any of the art pieces; if you feel inclined to do so.
We had a really great time. Took my mom here for a fun mother's day treat and we all had the best time! Everyone got to try the wheel and sculpting with clay, I highly recommend taking a class or 2 and trying it out
I took my niece for Friday Night Clay and fell in love! Had no idea what to expect, but Mike and Dakota were amazing instructors, so fun, and fostered an experience that leaves you only with wanting more. It was exciting, engaging, and relaxing all at once. Would rate 10 stars if possible, an absolutely fabulous experience!
I made an appointment to view this venue as a potential location for my wedding. Ryan texted me 8 minutes before the appointment was supposed to begin with instructions for when I arrive. When we arrived everything was locked up and no one was available to show the site. I texted Ryan and he said he had already left because I didn’t respond to his text. My appointment time was scheduled for 10:30-11:00 and it was 10:33. Very unprofessional in my opinion as I had multiple people with me and we all coordinated and drove 45 minutes from Palm Harbor to view this site. From what we could see the event space was nice but had the views from the windows of the Highway. Not really my “dream venue” or the type of people I’d want to work with when planning an event like my wedding. I’ll keep looking.
The Morean was the most magical backdrop for our wedding. We held our second ceremony of the day there, and it created a wonderful ambiance with the exposed brick, wooden beams, and industrial lighting. A hidden gem in the St. Pete region for your next event

We were able to visit and view a glass blowing demonstration by several of the professional artists at the Morean Arts Ctr as part of our entry and visit of the Chihuly Gallery. Very cool. There is also a shop to purchase items made by artists at the Center.
I was gifted a wine glass painting class for Christmas present. I enjoyed my experience overall. The ladies who were guiding the class and answering questions were very kind and helpful. I have zero complaints about the staff or the business. I do feel that it isn't a lot of bang for your buck considering it was a self led class and they did nothing but provide a dollar tree wine glass and a few drops of acrylic paint. They were responsible for clean up so that is nice. I am happy to know the technique now of how to bake wine glasses in oven to preserve the art painted on them. The instructions they gave worked perfectly and I love my glass! This was the most valuable thing from the class by far!! I am excited to use this piece of information in the future at my home with my own art supplies.

Nots of great glass pieces for sale. They also have glass working demonstrations at the top of the hours 1-4 PM (I'd recommend verifying). The show was about 30 minutes and was an interesting look at the process.

I wasn't sure if I would like this museum, but I was blown away. The colours of the glass, the forms, and most of all the sizes of the pieces. what a great place to visit. I recommend that you take the time to see the video, as it explains how difficult some of these pieces were to create.

This place has a hidden gem! There's a lovely little art supply pay-what-you-can Thrift store inside! They have new items all the time and all the money goes to their program for teaching art to people with special needs. Its a win win. They also sell original art from a variety of community artists along side some local coffee beans. This place is a treasure!
Loved the glass blowing demo. I found it fascinating and 100% worth it. You can purchase work from local artists. They have some beautiful pieces.

Creative Clay is a fantastic organization on every level. I have been involved with them both as a regular volunteer in the adult program and as a local student interviewing professionals in management. Their dedication to inclusivity and compassion echo throughout the organization, creating a very special atmosphere for the entire Creative Clay community. Management is incredibly kind, professional, and community-oriented & the member artists add a special zest to the St. Pete art scene that has left a lasting impression on me. If you are thinking about getting involved with Creative Clay, go for it- this is not a community that you want to miss!!
This was the most fun I had with my adult daughter. Charlie and his staff were extremely friendly and hands on. During our first visit we both did two pieces and they came out great. Highly recommend this place if you're looking to do something that is fun and definitely different.
We went for my birthday, I've always wanted to attend a pottery class. Charlie himself is outstanding. He is very hands-on during the class, funny, and passionate about his craft and art. We made two bowls and he taught us every step of the way. it was really cool. Chelsea as well was very nice, helpful, and pleasant to talk to. We had 4 people in our group and it was well worth the price. I would do it again, and come back to visit Charlie and Chelsea for another class!
I’ve always wanted to work on a pottery wheeI so a friend and I went and we absolutely had a great time! Instruction was thorough and hands on to help you learn the techniques and pressure on the clay. We made two bowls each. The cost was affordable and a great value. Charlie, his wife and assistant were all very friendly and helpful. Charlie was a hoot!!
Being able to experience glass blowing up close and personal is probably one of the coolest things I’ve watched to date! This is your sign to go if you haven’t or are debating.

We originally went to see the Chihuly Collection across the street and discovered you can attend the free glass blowing demo with the admission ticket. And they have demos every hour on the hour so it was easy and obvious to go.

There were two glass blowers in the demonstration- one doing the actual heavy lifting and the other explaining what was going on. Glass blowing is an entire art of its own and it’s so fascinating. I thought they did a great job educating the crowd on different methods and why you do things certain ways.

You can then shop around and purchase other glass pieces made by the very glass blowers who were in the demo. It’s really such a cool operation and I’m really glad I accidentally stumbled upon it. It’s so different from most experiences you could find.

Creative Clay is awesome! I've been working there for more than three years, and I see the laughter, joy and talents of all of the artists everyday. There's no place like it. The artists are immersed in painting, drawing, sculpture and textile arts all day, living the art dream of expressing themselves. You really cant beat that.

Over the last decade we've been lucky enough add over a dozen Creative Clay paintings and sculptures to the collection of art we have on display in our home. In addition to being visually lovely, they all have an authentic quality about them that guests admire and never fail to comment upon. And, of course, they are doubly impressed when we share with them the Creative Clay mission in our community -- thanks CC and kudos to all your talented artists! (Below is our latest aquisition– "Sweethearts" - painted by Candace that I bought for Ann as a Valentine's Day gift!)

Creative Clay is the most amazing place to find one-of-a-kind folk art! The member artist studio serves neuro-diverse adult artists in the community and provides a safe, creative, nurturing environment for all. Every purchase made goes directly to the artist and supports the continuation of services for all the member artists. There is a "pay what you wish" thrift store full of art supplies and unique finds which also benefits the program and mission of making the arts accessible to all! If you have never been, you have got to check it out! You will leave feeling inspired and your soul full! And hopefully you can also leave with an amazing piece of art for your home.

Really great to experience this up close and the instructors were really great at explaining everything step by step. My little (9) really enjoyed watching this come to life start to finish so I would recommend this to anyone wanting to expose their kids to a unique form of art.

This was a really unique experience to see all of the works of art created. Pictures cannot capture the true essence of how beautiful the art work was. I try to expose my little (9) to new artistic ways and he enjoyed himself and appreciated the art more so after watching the glass blowing class. I would definitely recommend a visit if you're wanting something out of the ordinary!
A potter's paradise. From beginners to advanced students, this Clay Center has everything you ever wanted or needed. Stunning location, incredible staff, and just one of my favorite places to play with clay. If you are into alternative firings, be sure to check out their workshops and other opportunities. Absolutely incredible place for a ceramic artist.
The glass blowing demo was included in the Chihuly museum tickets. Very cool to see the guys work. Really made me appreciate Chihuly’s work. The little shop upfront had some pretty interesting pieces for purchase.

Was so happy to see them open again. They are taking every precaution to stay safe and keep you safe from covid. Their artists thrift store is the best kept secret in saint Pete. The staff are all beyond friendly and helpful. Check them out, donate anything that can be used to make art and since it's pay what you can spend some money to support this treasure.

Pretty cool glass work, but definitely on the pricier side. It's great for almost treating like a gallery to see some unique glass pieces. It's really neat to know that it is locally made because some of the sculptures created are ridiculously done by some talented folks! Be careful though because if you break something you're liable to pay for it.

They also do glass blowing demos on the hour. If you purchase admission to Chihuly Collection around the corner, you get this for free and access to the Morean Art Gallery as well!

Thoroughly enjoyed watching the creation of such beautiful art in glass. I only wish I had seen the demonstration before I went to see the Chihuly Collection, it added a whole new perspective of what goes into the creation of these works of glass art. Highly recommended!
I took my mother for a fun bonding experience, we both had a wonderful time. Charlie is very entertaining and his assistant was very kind. They were both provided help and tips to make sure your bowls turned out looking like actual bowls. The price is very reasonable and includes instructions, materials, and your finished product. I would highly recommend and will be returning in the future.
I have been a student of Mary's for many years and created beautiful watercolors with her coaching. Both her teaching and artwork are fabulous!
Mary Henderson is the best art teacher - ever. She is positive and encouraging in assising students learn. In addition to her tutelage, she offers supplies for us to buy. They are all of the highest quality and reasonable prices. Mary is an extremely talented artist.
Love this local gem of an art gallery! Wonderful showcases to be seen here by some talented artists. Check out the talent they have when you can. I loved seeing some of the SHINE ON Festival Artists on display & capturing it in a creative, unique way with my glass spheres.

Never a dull moment of creative viewing at this charming establishment with friendly staff! I'm excited to see what future shows they offer to the public & and the majority of the time is free. I've even been to a cupcake contest and tasting here! I highly recommend it!
I've never done pottery. Didn't think this would go well (I've never thought of myself as artistic or creative) BUT I left Charlie's studio LOVING the experience. I bought a Groupon for my husband as he had expressed interest in doing a pottery class and we made a morning date out of it. We both left feeling accomplished and that we both made the most beautiful bowls ever lol!

Charlie is awesome and has the best sense of humor! Very patient, taught us lots of techniques, and is a great conversationalist. He's a very fun teacher. And since we were in a smaller group, the attention he was able to give to each of us was much appreciated, because I had no clue what I was doing! The class took just under two hours to complete and was such a fun experience.

The studio/gallery has lots of pieces to look at and purchase. It was fun to just walk around and look at everyone's work, and imagine what I could aspire to maybe make one day, haha! I can't wait to pick up our pieces once they are glazed and fired. And the hubby and I are already planning to attend another class to create some different pieces. Highly recommend Charlie Parker Pottery if you are looking for something fun to do and hey-- you might even find a new hobby!
