Had a very wonderful experience. The people are polite and friendly. They did an excellent job on my physical.
Dr Jones is kind, patient and a wonderful listener in a way that makes medication management a breeze. I feel in control of my own treatment and well informed as to what steps we are taking and will take.
Issa lil bit ghetto. Not that I’m not used to that, I was just shocked is all. I expected to come to bougie fixings with top knotch saddidy support staff but naw it’s def a lil rough around the edges. Doctors are a lil bit like cattle ranchers lol but GWU is rated #1 in the area for maternity care among other things so they get a pass. Plus I want my baby to have a DC birth certificate. But honestly if you don’t live in dc UMD is more convenient.
The wait time on the phone is excessively wrong, but when you get in, all the staff at the reception sits idly around with nothing to do. The wait to get an appointment is between 6-8 weeks. You may not get to see the doctor you were originally booked to see. This past Friday, the phone system was down and when I called the hospital, they told me no one was left at the center, they all went home for the weekend. It was only 2:00 PM.
Professional staff, caring doctors. You not only get the best care you can get from Dr. Williams and Dr. Patricia Howard, you also get timely, prompt customer service. The Drs are very thorough in their diagnosis. They don’t gaslight you and treat every little problem you have with great care. They make comprehensive referrals and want to prevent health care issues for you. They also notify you of lab results with a great sense of responsibility. I highly recommend anyone to take this clinic as their primary care location!
Very high turnover rate for doctors in internal medicine and when your doctor leaves, no one from the practice will respond to you. Internal medicine treats patients like nothing more than a number.

Update to my Post: Instead of giving me a customer service number you could respond to my MyChart message and also spell my name correctly.
Pretty sure this is the place I was sent to for my neck and back pain. Was sent here for care. Had injured my back and neck in a car accident. The 20 yr old girl fresh out of med school spent maybe 10 mins with me. Told me they were old injuries “awakened” by the accident. Then was told I have arthritis in my neck. No examination of my back. She said she didn’t prescribe pain killers and didn’t say anything about therapy. This was like a last resort place and I was like written off. When she was done I was stunned and asked if that was it because I was promised complete care. She prescribed water therapy and left. She was given a massive file to look at. Pretty sure she just skimmed it or didn’t look at it at all. Made weird claims about the files—pretty obvious she didn’t look or even care. It was infuriating. Should have reported years ago. No idea of her name.
Three days ago I was told by my pharmacy that my breathing medication was not approved by my doctor's office at the GW Internal Medicine Group. I was not even given a courtesy call that other doctors have given in the past letting me know there was a problem. Yet two days later I was called to see if I would like an appointment. They also denied ever telling my pharmacy that my long-standing prescription was denied by them, yet when I went back to the pharmacy, I was told they definitely made a call and the medication was denied. I asked GW Medical Associates to be email me a letter explaining why the prescription was denied so that I could get another doctor to write a script. I also emphasized the importance of getting the medication because it was for a long-standing condition.
I understand that sometimes there are administrative mistakes that occur. What I don't appreciate is the lack of follow-up once a mistake was made.
I just made a call today to ask again for the promised correspondence that never came and have been on a wait that suggests you give your number and wait for a call back.
I would not recommend this practice to anyone who has serious medical conditions and needs next day assistance.
I also resent that this practice would not take care of these issues but has no problem making calls to "schedule" unsolicited doctor appointments. The patient's care should be the top priority, not soliciting calls for business.
I’ve been a patient of this location for several years, and am disappointed I feel like I have no choice but to leave. Appointments were being scheduled 5 months out for preventative care, and I was told the only way I could have gotten in earlier would have been to make an appointment for an issue, and paid the copay when insurance covers non-issue annual appointments for free. After waiting 5 months to get in, coming to my appointment, and waiting over an hour to be seen, I was told my doctor had an urgent matter to attend to and I’d get a call to reschedule that day. I understand these things happen, but it has been over a day and no one has gotten in contact with me or responded to my message trying to reach them. I wish I could say this is the first time I’ve had issues working with this office. Although I was happy with the care I received from my specific doctor, the difficulties I’ve continued to experience from the admin side have forced me to seek care elsewhere.
They have some really extraordinary doctors but they often have excessive wait times and the support staff are worse than comparable hospitals around. One reviewer wrote that it’s because they are under paid and that wouldn’t surprise me. The administration has changed a lot over the past year and I’ve seen it take a toll on the doctors (some left) but even more of a burden on the support staff. When you finish your appointment be sure to check out Tatte down the street. They have an amazing beet soda that I highly recommend!
There are 4 associates at the front desk but only one working rest just looking at their phone, even though there are a lot of people in the line waiting to be checked in quickly. otherwise, with this slowness, at the time you get to them, they label you as late to the appointment. That is not good 👎
Dr. Rockefeller was able to accommodate my schedule and get me in for an exam quickly. Her exams are very comprehensive and does a great job following up with referrals.
Confident Care Medical has been very wonderful in provision of medical care to their clients. Their human touch, feelings and professionalism coupled with their modern medical equipments makes the Clinic a unique medical care center that everyone like me will love to go for medical assistant.
Excellent practice with phenomenal doctors / assistants.
Contemplated on writing this review but decided to write it more so for NP students looking for a clinical site. I did my rotation here briefly for a span of 3 weeks. I paid for a pediatric clinical site rotation and to my surprise upon starting here she didn't have much patients (6 at most while I was there)-- and barely any pediatric patients. Now why she would accept 4 NP students given this fact is mind boggling to me. Mind you I took off 3 weeks from work to make as much hours as I could and this is what I encountered. I lost money (from not working 3 weeks) and most importantly I wasted my time. As a result I asked my school to take this clinic out of my list of clinical sites and had to do all my hours all over again after I spent about 3 weeks at her office. She later told me she would not issue a refund for hours I paid for pediatric clinicals. BUT she SHOULD NOT have accepted my payment in the first place because she barely has pediatric patients or ANY patients for 4 students. When I spoke to her about this because I wanted to withdraw from the very first week I started at her clinic she kept saying that adults and pediatrics are pretty much the same and that what matters is that she would approve my hours. I couldn't keep going after the 3 weeks spent and not getting the experience that I paid for on top of that she expected us students to be at her office several times a week or if possible everyday of the week.
So does Capital Medical Associates still exist? When I call the number I get "the number is not allocated" and the website has been suspended. How do I get my medical records?
Dr. Rockefeller is fantastic. She is knowledgeable, honest and very direct which is what I like. Her office is busy so if she doesn't respond immediately, just hold tight. It is worth it because of the quality she provides.
As a medical care provider myself, I can say this: Dr. Rashbaum and his staff provide the best general medical care in the city. The physical provided is thorough, not rushed and takes about an hour. Most practitioners only see you for 5-10 minutes, neglecting many parts of the exam and missing subtle clues that may have big implications. Healthcare isn't inexpensive - and insurance outright sucks and reimburses doctors 30% of what is billed. This puts many doctors out of business and forces others to perform rushed exams. The annual fee helps a high-quality doctor such as Bruce to perform the best care possible. If you have issue with medical costs, complain to Congress and tell them to reign in insurance. CMA is by far the best medical practice in the city.
I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Rashbaum and Capital Medical Associates. I have been a patient for 15 years, and at every appointment I am always reminded how caring and thorough Dr. Rashbaum and his staff truly are. You could not be in better hands!!

When Dr Hodge was there this place was great. Once he left, I NEVER received a call, email or traditional mail notification from either Mary Beth Alder or Bruce Rashnaum until today. Their first and only letter of communication stated they are terminating our relationship due to lack of response (they never called or reached out) I would call the office but I don’t really get good vibes from them. If you are looking for a provider with great communication skills they wouldn’t be my first choice. Really hate Dr Hodge is gone but I can understand why now
Mary Beth is both incredibly knowledgeable, and very helpful. She's a great provider, and is very focused on making sure people get the care that's right for them.
I have gone to this practice for over 30 years. I find them professional, thorough, helpful. When you are with the doctor (and I have had the opportunity to work with 4 in the practice over these years) they give you undivided attention.
Unless you want to pay $2000 for a physical I wouldn't event look at this place. They are all about money and not providing care. Oh and there os a $250 fee just to be seen.
Capital Medical Associates is a wonderful practice. Dr. Rashbaum and Mary Beth Alder are both excellent diagnosticians. They take their time and truly listen to you. The exams are the most thorough I have ever had. The staff are also kind and getting an appointment is stress free. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a great, caring doctors and staff
Dr. Rashbaum is thorough, well informed, and persistent. I have been a patient for over 10 years and whenever I have had a problem or medical issue he has consistently been able to address it and solve it! He takes the time to know you as a patient and listens carefully. He is genuine in his approach. That is hard to find and greatly appreciated!

They charged me for services I did not request, and then threatened to send the bill to collections if I did not pay the full balance. They are horrible. I would never go back here.
