I found some pretty good finds here, just went for my first time not too long ago. Great selections, great variety and the prices were phenomenal. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice and welcoming thrift!
This thrift store is great I always come here when I want to go thrifting, everything is color coded which is great and they always have a wide variety of things. (Music is always wack but that's okay) anyway this place is lit 🔥💪🫨

My mother and I love checking out all the Goodwill stores in the area and this one is high on our list of favorites. The clothing (our favorite part to shop) is arranged by size, color, & type. They do a very good job of keeping the racks manageable by not stuffing them too full. The employees are so friendly and helpful. The household goods are arranged by like items and are beautifully displayed.
There are restrooms for the customers which is important for us and you don't have to ask for a key to use them. The items are comparable to any other Goodwill in the Dayton metropolitan area. It is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Thank you to the employees who always make us feel welcome.
Great prices. I started out shopping for work clothes and have gotten my non work wear there also. I'm addicted to this place. Even if I don't find something one time the next my be a jackpot.
I have been going to this thrift store my entire life (I am 40 now) and I used to love it, but the prices are INSANE. $80 for one dress at the thrift shop is ridiculous. I fill up my cart at other thrift stores, and just give away whatever I don’t end up loving- but when I go here, I really leave so many things behind because the prices are too high.
If you're reading this, could you please help me pick my jaw up off the ground?

The prices on clothes (I didn't peruse the other departments, but Village is pretty worthless beyond its clothing sections) are insultingly high. Want a men's button up shirt? Get ready to pay $14+. And that's not Abercrombie & Fitch or Old Navy. I'm talking "Who the heck is this?" brands. T-shirts? $10+. A hoodie? Even old high school ones will set you back $10 on the very lowest end, with most being $12-15 and up.

There was a time when Village Thrift was a great combo of selection and price. Not any more. I'm giving them two stars solely because there is a better than average clothing selection, and as I understand it they do have %50 off sales. My advice is to avoid it unless or until they are having one.
I'm curious if the people who own and work at this place shop for themselves at places that don't have a dressing room...but also don't do returns or exchanges. If your customers buy something that doesn't fit when they go home and try it on, they are out money. By definition - you are ripping people off. And what's worse- your majority customer base are the under resourced who are barely making it. I believe the old term is "robbing the poor (under resourced)". Do better! I understand the necessity of your return policy. But at least provide a dressing room. Maybe people were stealing when you had one? Simple solution-limit number of items a person can take it and pay someone to count before and after.

Best goodwill ever so sorted and easy to find things. Lots of clothes, not lot of furniture.
The clothes selection in this store is very appealing. While some items like shorts and shirts were priced pretty well, I could find just as many things that were very overpriced. I accidentally stumbled upon the place during a 50% off day. I was excited to see some electronics that peeked my interest but I was shocked to find out that the prices were at or above retail AFTER the discount. If I wanted to pay retail prices for used electronics I would buy them from a place that would clean them and give me an actual warranty or have a return policy. Stores like this are really cool but it's a shame whoever is in charge of pricing is definitely concerned with profits over quality of the items and their customers.
The owners of this establishment are genuinely terrible people. Reselling pieces they get for free for hundreds of dollars. Directly profiting off the generosity of other people and making clothing inaccessible to those who need it. Genuinely despicable business that does not deserve the light of day from any decent person.

Literally the best thrift store, I always find my style here. If you love vintage clothes definitely check this place out. You’ll find some here and there. The prices are great too, feels the way a thrift store should! Staff minds their own business, if you’re big on extra gleaming customer service then maybe try somewhere else. I don’t care that much as long as they’re good with ringing people out, which I don’t think I’ve ever stood waiting on them for me. So to me this thrift is great!
Have been going here off and on for nearly 30 years since I was a kid and it's never really lost it's 90s thrift feel. Even if I don't find much at times, it's always great.

I visit many Goodwill locations. This is one of my favorites. Great selection, even of the items that reflect the sale color. The staff is quite friendly.

Not a bad spot for a goodwill decent selection of clothing I found a couple things and the staff I've interacted with are always nice. Always walk out with some good finds, for my lady friends check the men's t shirts section for some comfy shirts!

This place used to be good during covid but now it's terrible!! Also the workers here are sooooo incredibly rude, especially the tall somewhat chubby guy who was wearing a Slipknot hoodie and a baseball cap. He can kiss my rear end for all I care!!! Go to Valley thrift across the street instead they are better!!

The current management has ruined the outlet store in Dayton simply because they find as many good donations as they can to put on their shop Goodwill website and leave mostly junk for customers who shop at the physical store. At one time the outlet store was an amazing place to shop but since corporate Goodwill has become so greedy they could care less about the customers who actually spend time and money shopping at the Dayton outlet store. They do however give special treatment to those who buy thousands of dollars worth of shoes and certain other merchandise who in turn resell it overseas. It really is an atrocity to watch a once thriving place to shop become what it is now. Besides that, they're always lacking in help and their machinery is always breaking down causing people to have to stand around and wait for hours for them to bring more merchandise out. The place is literally ran by the most incompetent people I've ever seen operating a business. Sad.
So very appreciative for this place... Great staff and management, they were very attentive to the needs of their customers, even to those who came in not finding what they were looking for. 😊

We love going to American thrift store. Their prices are affordable and they have a large selection of children’s clothes and shoes. As all of us who are blessed with children know we need to save where we can! They grow so fast. The staff are pleasant and helpful. They work hard to make their store a great place to visit. See you there Saturday if it doesn’t snow too much.

Nasty. Junk. Dirty. Wear gloves and sanitizer needed. Cheap. Price per pound if anything is left that is not covered up in a cart. Same people there every day.
Great store with a variety of items.

Just please NOT GO TO THE STORE AND NOT DONATE ON ANY SPOT OF AMERICAN THRIFT STORE. The owner denies selling it to me because he said I'm playing smart because I stand up because he was yelling a little girl. And the girl already apologized because she was playing with toys.
I told him the clothes came from donations and are there for people who needs it. And he said "IS NOT TRUE" the clothes came from him and he has the right to sell who wherever he wants.
PS. There are a lot of cotainers in different strategic parts on the City, even outside of my son's school.
AND THE OWNER STILL RAISING HIS VOICE IN FRONT OF MY KID, EVEN I ASK HIM PLEASE DON'T RAISE HIS VOICE

Please share

There is a cashier lady who is usually at register 1 . She is extremely rude and hateful. If you have shipped there and asked to look at the jewelry in the showcase you would know exactly who I am referring to. Nema and Gina are very pleasant.
Y’all the prices are outrageous- every vintage piece I found was over $20 🤯 some of the pieces I wanted were pushing $60… this is a THRIFT STORE. I was shocked, and angry the entire time for driving out there from Cincinnati. - on a side note American thrift in Dayton is amazing.

Just popped in briefly. A Goodwill Outlet in Indianapolis was my introduction to this style of store, and I have to say, I think that the one in Indy is better. This one seemed smaller, darker, and more chaotic. Instead of having people hang around the edges and bins filling in the middle, a lot of people had carts with their hordes covered with towels/blankets/etc. right in the middle of the store. They also don't seem to announce bin changes or ask people to stay out of the way during the process like they do in Indy. The checkout line also spanned nearly the entire length of the store. Luckily the person I came in with didn't feel like digging through the bins, so they hopped in line and I poked around until they were close to the registers. I ended up walking out with a few 78 records that somehow weren't shattered, a camera bag, and a couple camera flashes. The variety of the bins was decent , but not amazing. I also wasn't there to see fresh bins come out, so they were probably better than what I was there to pick through.

If I went back (which is a strong possibility) and discovered that the super long line was an anomaly, my rating would probably go up. Right now I'd call my experience a 3.5, rounded down to 3 because a few bins smelled worse than you'd hope.
I bought a PS2 with all the hook ups for $69 after tax. That’s about as much as if I went to a used game store and got a legit one. Sure enough it doesn’t work. No returns or exchanges. So I top of this place having outlandish prices for stuff literally donated to them for free; This place is selling junk they know doesn’t work. The people who run this store are trash.

Always interesting finds searching through the bins. You never know what kind of unique, antique or useful items you'll discover. Be prepared to spend hours here it's the best method for stress release!
Great store! I didn't know this was here until I visited today wonderful prices I do love they have a clearance table I will be visiting here again
I brought up a children’s skirt that was on the rack but didn’t have a tag and they took it away from me saying no tag no sale… I asked if they could price it then and there and I’d take it and they said no…. Also tons of shein for 10-20$ if you’d like to waste your money! Wish I could give negative stars
I never shop here anymore, it's too expensive. They have thousands of articles of clothing that were donated to them for free.. and they still choose to price used clothes like this.
The prices have just reached absurd levels. Look, I’ve been coming here most of my life, and this place has always been known for having inflated prices compared to most of the other thrift stores in the area. But it has gotten ridiculous where there are legitimately used items here, some in not the greatest condition, selling for new or close to new prices. There are jackets for $65 used that I can find brand new at DFW just down the road for half the price. Y’all have jumped the shark. I used to be a regular, but I find myself looking at anything I’m interested in buying and just thinking, “for a few bucks more, I can get this new,” and putting it back on the rack. I don’t mind paying for quality, but the cost-to-value ratio no longer makes sense. Hit up DFW for new items at 1/2 the price of here or Valley Thrift down the road. Second Harvest on Smithville is also a little hidden gem, with 1/2 off on Saturdays. Fix yo prices!
I've tried to find the monthly sales/discount calendar and I am unable to find it. It should be one of the first photos shown.

I've shopped there before, found some really good deals.
Their furniture prices are ridiculous. Never seen anything like that before. Actual antiques I get it but see pictures. That couch 100.00 odors and dirty, the tv hutch thing someone destroyed it with a bad paint job and 200.!
Extremely friendly, thoughtful and helpful! Definitely recommend coming in and seeing what they have!
Definitely have a little bit of everything! You can get furniture, school supplies, yarn, and more!

Impressed by the selection, but the vetting of the quality leaves a little to be desired.

Just discovered this shop a week ago, but I have been back twice for shopping and also to drop items off for resale. It's a very nicely laid out shop, not all junky, with great staff and wonderful items. I look forward to going back regularly.

Great quality and low prices!! Got a pair of jeans and a dress for my 12YO grand-daughter for.... 41 CENTS!!! Yes, I had a $5 coupon and got a 10% discount, but...WOW!!!
Outstanding small thrift store with lots of decent furniture at great prices. Add this place to your regular stops.
I enjoyed this store. They did not have the major thing I wanted but found small items I had been looking for for 6 months. Better pricing than Goodwill.

I don't have big problems with the store itself, but the last couple times I've shopped there, I've overheard the store owner saying some very creepy and even abusive statements about his female employees. Seems like a lot of workplace abuse goes on in that store. This review is mostly to warn people about working there. The employees themselves are usually very nice and do their jobs well. But for female customers, I'd recommend going to the Goodwill on Far Hills or Dorothy. Between that store owner, and the shady area this Goodwill is located, that'd be the better call.
Way over priced. These are DONATED new/used items. Why are these people jacking the prices for the last 6 months? I’ll tell you. A little less than a year ago the management started getting bonuses based on gross sales.
Keep in mind, any recent five star reviews comes management
Boycott this establishment.!!!
$100 for a comforter? $5 used towels? $10 bath rugs? $40 sheets?!! The prices are so high now & their merchandise is donated to them. They resell fake Louis Vuitton’s!!! There are no returns even with a receipt. Go to TJMaxx or Gabe’s because you can get your money back.

They banned the public from using their restrooms. It’s not worth going more than once every few months now. Also, the workers don’t like the customers & fight with each other.
🤷🏻‍♀️
Check your receipts before you leave the store! I was overcharged by $8.47 today. There are 3 additional items on my receipt I did not purchase. I thought my total seemed high and checked everything when I got home. I’d like to think it was a mistake but I don’t know how 3 extra items end up on one sale alone.

You can find good things here (my entire NERF collection came from here, for a total of maybe $30, encompassing roughly 20 blasters, extra mags for all, and several varieties of attachments, plus many a great cook book) but some of the folk here are the rudest, scummiest example of vile shitebags who will hurl items onto your hands or in your face without a second thought.
This place is awesome!!! They always have super cool stuff here! And unbeatable low prices! Unlike the other thrift stores, not to mention the owners And staff are very friendly as well going shopping here for me is always a wonderful experience! Bought a old blue well made comfortable chair for $21 dollars!!! Hard to beat a deal like that 🙂

Beautiful little shop with kind staff, the proceeds all go to local disaster relief, worker at the counter was nice and easy to talk to, location is a little strange but bigger than it appears from the outside.
My husband and I frequently shop here, and I think the selection and prices are really great...with the exception of the furniture. The furniture is usually in really bad shape, and ridiculously overpriced. You can buy brand new sofa's and dressers for what they are charging for stuff that looks like it should be sitting on a curb (sorry, but it's the truth). We would never buy furniture here, but we do always walk out with something(s) when we visit! The employees have always been super friendly!
Very rude staff. Came in to pick up one of the two copies of Schindler’s List on vhs. I literally wanted one thing. Would’ve taken me two minutes max to be in and out of there. I walked in at 6:50, I knew they were closing at 7:00. I had more than enough time for what I needed. As soon as I walked in, the woman working snapped at me, saying “We close in five minutes. We wanna go home.” I knew what time it was, I knew I had twice as much time as what she was telling me. I knew what time they closed. Like I said, I was after one specific item that would taken me a minute or two tops to grab. Very unnecessary and rude. I would absolutely not support this business.
I went in to this location for the first time, I was not pleased with the prices, $80 used stained rugs, $1 for one spoon, $3 for one single plate, couches marked at $150 stained and used. Someone needs to do a better job with pricing items at this location. This is a Thrift store, they should not be marked at new price values. Ridiculous !
I am a "Shopper" meaning I piece together my outfits with a mix of Big Box Department Clothing, Clearance Items, and Second Hand. I've shopped at many Thrift Stores; However, hands down "American Thrift Store" has great finds! I've found really nice pieces that call my closet home. I must admit, the compliments I've received on many outfits, knowing I've only paid about $20, head-to-toe, is an Awesome feeling! It's not all about the BRANDS, it's about how well you dress your canvas(YOURSELF)

Beautiful store. Very clean and organized. Lots of variety. They use all profits to help those in need after a disaster
I had a bad experience with the older woman who charged me for a watch that I paid for and forgot to pack it with my other items. It's not her first time doing this. I usually catch it before I leave the store. But since I was tired and headed home, that's when I found out the watch wasn't even in there. So this was a great inconvenience, I called made sure the watch was still there and went to go pick it up before closing hours. When I arrived there she had the audacity to charge me again for the watch because I forgot the receipt but since I wasn't in the mood to argue with someone incompetent I decided to pay twice for the watch because it was worth it. I plan on disputing one of the charges with the manager of this place and telling him about that woman's rude behavior. Lucky for me they have a good surveillance system and hope the owner sees the footage.

I Love this store! You must go!! It's so clean, has great prices/bargains for beautiful items, the store is so well organized, and did I mention CLEAN and they have beautiful furniture, home decor, clothes etc...they have a bit of everything, and their staff is very friendly and helpful too! I Bought a couch, gorgeous indoor gliding chair with footstool, Decorative pillows, 2 pair of shoes, 3 tops, some drinking glasses and some awesome decorative pieces at great prices. They carried the chair and my bags out and put in my car too AND they're gonna deliver the couch. Oh yea I learned they use profits to help folks in natural disasters too! I can't wait to go again
It always been a great place but now they are over pricing things . making it so you pay as much from a store . Greed. to pay 1099 for a worn Nike t shirt for a boy is so horrible. And be careful that you check your receipt have had the elderly lady double charge twice now on several items. And the nice polite women are gone.
Always love this place!! Good service and good prices for the most part but that's to be expected

I have been to tons of Goodwill locations before so I would consider myself to be very knowledgeable with locations. This location is in a lot of need up updating. It appears to be pretty old and out of date. The men’s clothing section also does not have very much to offer. This was disappointing. The overall cleanliness of this store is disappointing because of the age.

If you’re looking for other thrift stores in the area, check out the list on my profile after you visit this thrift store for more!

Tip: visit several goodwill locations in the area to get more out of your shopping experiences.
Great place to shop and the sales people are nice!
Very nicely laid-out for thrift store. The prices are higher than most thrift stores, but I found a great couch and I've been looking a while. So I'm happy!

This is the nicest (and best smelling) Goodwill I have ever been to! Will definitely be coming back!
I recently inquired about a plant stand that would be an amazing asset to my vendor booth. I was told that it was being sold as a set with a table and chairs. They are asking $125 for all six pieces. I expressed that I did not need the table and chairs, just the stand. The stand does not match the patio set but has been painted to look like it does. I was advised to check back on Tuesday. I called the number listed on the door, left a message with my interest and never received a call back. I came in today (Tuesday) and spoke with Shawn who advised his boss will not separate the set. I expressed my need and interest again in the stand only at which point he told me he'd be willing to sell me the stand for $60!! That is half of what they asking for all SIX pieces!! Very disappointed in the customer service they give and even more disappointed in the way they are willing to rip people off. I will not recommend them or their ministry services to anyone!
I got a power edge 2900 server and battery backup u it for 10$ Simply a great place!!!!

This is a wonderfully ran goodwill. The staff is so nice and supportive of one another and the manager is so kind and even returned a few dollars to me that fell out of my pocket on a busy hectic day and even offered to help me carry things out of he store!

That being said they have a very healthy selection of kitchenware, furniture, children's clothes, men's and woman's cloths. Sometimes, they even have extra tables set up for the excess shoes they are selling. Still the store remains clean and orderly because of the constantly working awesome staff!

Every week a color of tag is on sale so be sure to look up above the register or ask an employee!
I love this place! I got there not knowing what to expect and a guy was working and he said he was new. Well I hope he stays because he is amazing. GREAT prices as well. I will definitely keep going.
Had really great experience at Adventure Thrift Store. Jerry was very accommodating. I was able to buy every furniture for my new bedroom: dresser, table and chair for cheap. The furniture are used but have good quality. They even deliver free of charge and open after hours to accommodate. Will definitely come back and introduce my friends here.
