I enjoyed the service immensely. Everyone was welcoming. I look forward to going again as soon as time permits.

Over 100 years ago this church served as a refuge for people of all races. My Great-Great Grandfather led a Sunday school class at Calvary and was baptized in this church, the first Chinese immigrant to do so. But because of the church’s progressiveness, they’ve drifted from it’s original intended purpose to unite the community through Christ by uniting the community through sin. As opposed to bridging racial divides, it now causes greater divides by rebelliously putting women in a pastoral role, celebrating sexuality and political activism. Unfortunately this is no longer a church that preaches God but a sanctuary of the unsaved where the acceptance of sin is valued more than the salvation from sin that Christ suffered for.

absolutely looove this church and everyone there. i’ve been looking for a church to call home since last year, and now i can confidently say that GCC is where i belong. i also love how there’s a lot of youth my age, through EveryNationCampus (ENC), on fire for the Lord. It helps me to not only be established in community, but to also stay accountable especially as a college student! i thank God for all the leaders of GCC Brookland and my Every Nation family!

To say my life wasn't looking good, would be an understatement, and not to sound dramatic but it simply isn't, it's been a really rough year. On a lot of us, but really, either way my application goes bless these people, they are doing the Lord's work in giving onto others and that requires no praise I can give, thank you all so much, For everything you do to support the community.

Visited on Sunday June 26th 2022 and I'm not convinced I visited a Christian Church. What was missing...Sound doctrine and biblical theology. Needless to say as a visitor I was disappointed as my expectation and anticipation on seeing the marvelous architecture and the name 'Calvary Baptist' was grand uplifting christian fellowship. This definitely was not the place. I regret not doing the slightest bit of research before walking into Calvary Baptist Washington DC as google was right there at my finger tips!! But also God our Heavenly Father, His son Jesus the Christ through his Holy Spirit is also present with those who confess and acknowledge Him according to scripture (the Holy Bible).

Could you kindly turn down/turn off your bright, flashing, dazzling sign that goes all night? (e.g off from the hours of 10 pm to 8 a.m.) Thanks, would love to come up with a solution that would work for your lovely church. (I'll remove this review, but just wanted to get in touch)

An outstanding Christmas Concert! Loved all the performances and choir.

I love Shiloh with all my heart! My Dad (Terry Thompson) worked here prior to his passing and he loved Shiloh as well. My mom too! I am an active member, participating in several Church Activities including Girl Scouts, Teen Sunshine Group, Children/Youth Ministries and Praise Dancing.

WE LOVE SHILOH!! 9th AND P IS THE PLACE TO BE!!!

My husband and I have been so blessed by this church body. We just started going a few weeks ago. I look forward to coming each week and getting connected further. Excited to see what God is doing here and around DC!

Beautiful famous church with amazing historical roots. One of my favorite churches in the city growing up here.

I LOVE my church home. Im so glad God has knit me in such a family such as this one. Praying for God's spirit to be poured out on his church. We are a people with a heart for God and God's heart for people. We are growing daily. Its a treasure to know and serve where you been called and planted.

Love this church! We felt at home the first time we visited. Pastor D and his staff truly have a heart for God and God’s heart for people. Give them a visit, no matter your place in life or religious background. You will feel accepted and loved.

I felt welcomed and accepted! Worship and the message were uplifting and Jesus and Bible focused and so encouraging. They honored fathers in a special way on Father's Day with focus on God our heavenly Father.

Grace is a house of prayer blessed with God's grace for 20 years standing and forever. My home of worship since its inception in 1999.

9th and P is the place to be! I've learned some awesome skills as a person and developed a closer relationship with my God at Shiloh Baptist Church. I've been a member for over 50 years. Love my Pastor. Love the music ministry. Love my church (people).

I wish I could give this church a zero as this church does not preach the gospel. They focus on their extreme left leaning political agenda. They are a church in name only.

Wonderful welcoming church with great teaching. Meets downstairs in the Westin hotel at 9 and 11am.

This church is NOT a SBC church. They are just one more apostate church that has forsaken the Word of God and are going in whatever direction the prevalent culture winds are blowing. Please be warned.

As a child of the LORD of Host, Please forgive any errors in my writing skills or the lack of: I write this in hopes that somehow the members and staff alike will look within and change their hearts. I walked into the building joined to the church asking about any events (Saturday Morning - Today 2/24/2018) at the front desk. I was told by a kind woman at the desk that there were no events - I expressed to her that I was homeless (due to domestic violence) and the shelter requires women to leave out all day and asked if she knew of any place safe in walking distance that i could go and sit and be out of harm's way she didn't have any information regarding my question, I knew I had a long walk to wait out the time to return and expressed that to her. She allowed me to sit before I journey on - That is why I gave the 3 stars for in this review for showing me the LOVE of God in such a way. People were coming in and there is a glass wall that separated her desk and me sitting near the door - I took out my laptop and read my bible Psalm 91 and my prayer book via my laptop. A maintenance man began taking orders for food to be delivered I was praying he or someone offered me something to eat as I was hungry- soon the food was delivered and before that and after that I endured the laughter of people walking back and forth looking at me laughing, I prayed LORD let them see you in me and your angels all around me. One person walked by me to exit the building the smell of his hot dog hit my nose like a steak dinner! My hunger intensified. I stop reading and put my laptop up and asked where they got the hot dogs - in my mind and heart I was thinking and praying for the favor of God - to go before me (wherever) they got the hot dogs I would walk there and ask for one (I had no money to buy one) by and with faith, I was told it wasn't in walking distance and I could go to a nearby Korean fast food place to get a hot dog - I was given walking directions by the maintenance man and I turned back and asked the woman from Landover Md who worked the front desk and had mercy on me to pray for favor with me I'm going to ask for something to eat from the store as she heard the conversation the man and I had, then I left the building I didn't get food to eat from that carry out, but I did feed on the WORD OF GOD BEFORE LEAVING SHILOH JUST ME AND GOD. I pray that Matthew 25:40 will come to heart and mind to all at this Church. As I was a stranger in your midst. That experience does not encourage me to come back for Sunday service which I can only pray and hope that God's presence and anointing is there and that the hearts of people therein do not wax cold nor grow weary in doing good - please don't count out the least of them among you. Broken crayons still color. God Bless You All Lead with LOVE.

I've been a member here for six years, and for me, Calvary is a light shining in a world that seems at times to be growing ever darker. Here is a community that practices radical love and acceptance; that finds fellowship in difference and diversity; that finds strength in humility and the search for understanding. I am blessed beyond words to be a part of this community and to share in its mission of extending God's transformative love to the world.

Very magnificent church in downtown of Washington. It has its own car parking and if you can present Pastor's signature on the parking slit, it is free. Don't forget to ask for Pastor's signature or seal after church services.
