Came on the weekend with a friend had a great day fishing

Under new management and they working hard to change it round from a few years of not having a lot done to it to keep it up to a standard . Fishing was good some of the pegs need working on but they will sort that over time toilets were lovely and clean. And was told that as soon as they can find a cook the cafe will be open again I enjoyed my day fishing there and will be going back wish them good luck with getting it up and running right again and look forward to having a breakfast and fishing there again

Fished bridge pool Easter Sunday,cold day, but managed to catch 6 carp and 1 bream all around the 4lb mark, met Trevor and he’s very accommodating and a nice guy,will definitely be back in a week or two.

Its a lovely place to fish, but carp need time to grow. Ill be back again soon to try willow.

Fished here a lot years ago tried again today with the weather it was a nice day with some nice fish new owners are working hard to get the fishery up and running properly and they were very welcoming

On paper an excellent venue, in reality it’s ran by a vile excuse of a human being and the information stated on the website is wildly inaccurate. There is no cafe anymore, opening and closing times seem to have no consistency and are dependent on how the ‘person’ running it is feeling on any given day. Heard from a few friends there’s days she doesn’t even bother opening up and times she calls a close to things hours before they’re supposed to close.

All the issues listed could be remedied by finding a new bailiff, she’s responsible for this place going sharply downhill in the last 5 years.

Have never blanked at this lake, usually fish on home pool but took my daughter here and fished Bridge pool, was having runs all day also my daughter had a handful of small silvers..

I do like this place, however I’m finding it an increasingly difficult water to fish. I’m trying everything I can think of and spent an entire day with just 1 or 2 bites. No doubt, it’s partly my skill level but the same efforts elsewhere are proving much more fruitful. To be honest, 50% of the day is time for me to chill in the peace and quiet so I don’t really mind that much but for the keen anglers that are there to bring in some serious fish, you may struggle. Gail is fine, no nonsense and harsh in her approach but I figure that’s a good thing. Will be taking a break for now but will definitely be back at some point. Hopefully things pick back up.
