Serving our community one person at a time .free lunch on Sundays at noon for anyone that is hungry. Friendly and respectful staff And volunteers that do so much for our homeless community. Also constantly providing community outreach every chance they get!!! We could not do it without their help. Thank you Salvation Army!
I just want to say that the Angel Tree coordinator Juanita really failed my children last hope 😔. I submitted my application on 10.09.24 and was told I was denied due to missing birth certificate. Which remind you I uploaded all my documents. I even resent the birth certificates. Remind you I put all 3 kids birth certificate on one file. Which I later found out on pickup day that she never scrolled down to see the other birth certificates. Which left only one child getting a gift. Then she had no accountability on the main issue being that she messed up. She was very rude and sweet at the same time. Maybe there should be someone who double checks behind her. It's sad and they way she spoke to me was just plan out right disgraceful. Being that I'm coming for help in a time of need and was talked to with such a nonchalant attitude was just not right. Lord have mercy on her soul..🙏
This location could not help me but tried.

I had a very specific request. These organizations need to start handling our gift cards to the homeless.
Nice and very friendly this church. Thank you for the service bilingual. Direct by his pastor Angel and his wife. God bless this church.

My kid went on a field trip to McKinney Roots. She came back raving about how much fun she had, and how much she learned from Farmer Tucker.
I’m trying to get a dining room table and chairs with a beautiful hutch in excellent condition and they want to charge me 165.00 dollars to come get it for them to make money.LOL
I drove by today to drop off donations and they have permanently closed their pods. The building and resources are still open, but not the donation drive through.

AMAZING PLACE.. Staff is so friendly and what you guys do is Phenomenal. My kid enjoyed every last second. Thabk you
Restore is located between my house and HD and Lowes in McKinney so it's a no-brainer. It's a thrift store for hairy legged DIY-ers - male and female. A variety of used and new items priced at a fraction of retail. Ask for Charles. He went above and beyond to help me out. He'll do the same for you.

I would like to get in touch with the Owner/Founder to help with outreach and volunteering. Can you please give a way to contact you if possible. Thank you, what you’re doing is amazing work
Fired from bell ringing after 2 weeks of checks were short. I told them I could return when they got all the bell ringers checks right. Very sad that people in a place of service can short folks money and then fire them for speaking up about it. I won't be working, volunteering, or donating anything to this salvation army ever again. They cut my throat for Christmas. God bless the majors that feel good about this.
Wonderful place, well organised and friendly staff. So much to see and to learn.

From stories to shells and animals, including now the various dinosaurs outdoors as well as bones and skeletons in door.

Very nice walks; trails of various length.

Great to see!
We came during the fall and it was beautiful. It was great weather to be outdoors but would not recommend during hot Texas summer. The young lady who did our animal group presentation wasn't that great. Very bland and seemed kind of moody. Also seemed like she had no experience around kids. She wouldn't even let the kids pet the animals. Where as other employees had done the opposite. We enjoyed the fossils inside and dino walk was pretty fun. Rating one less star because some of the animals seemed unhappy in their enclosures and did not enjoy seeing a jar full of dead turtles.
This nature preserve is absolutely beautiful. Went on all of the clearly posted trails, and all were beautiful. Will definitely be coming back.
Such a wonderful farm that donates all thier produce to the food insecure of Collin County!!
Not only do we love the museum with all of the interactive exhibits, butterflies dinosaurs, and hiking trails, but the staff are wonderful!

Brenda was extremely helpful! My wife and I were visiting from PA and asked about getting a membership at the Heard Museum since we fly down monthly to visit family. She told us to get a museum membership at one close to home and that we could use it to get into other museums such as theirs (they're part of a museum network called the ASTC.) We are so grateful that she told us this because it allowed us to go to many places across the country and saved us a lot of money. Thanks, Brenda, and thank you Heard Museum for creating a wonderful experience for my family and me! We'll definitely be back!
Bring your bug spray, sun screen, hiking boots, hat, binoculars and canteen. Explore the hiking trails. Enjoy this gem! Picnic under the trees. No trash left behind. :)

Note: If your little one is in a stroller, be prepared for a lot of downhill/uphill and that some of the trails will not be accessible.
I drove towards the Receiving Door to donate a good gas dryer. When I approached the drive, there was an older man sitting in a “Habitat for Humanity” box truck blocking the drive. He was eating an apple. I lightly bumped the horn to get his attention. I waited for him to see me and move, but that didn’t happen.

Again I lightly bumped my horn to get his attention. He looked right at me and continued eating his apple. He wasn’t budging and didn’t care that he was blocking the drive.

I approached very slowly and moved my mirror in trying to get my vehicle by. I bumped the horn again. He just watched me. He never moved. I squeezed by.

I parked and walked in to find someone to help me unload the dryer. I found a woman who called to get a man to help us unload the dryer. A man came walking by after about 10 minutes. She asked if he would help. He gladly said Yes and lowered my tailgate.

The older man with the apple hopped out of his box truck with his apple still in hand and angrily told the man not to help us, that “she needs to learn.” He was demanding, hateful, unashamed of making a hostile environment for everyone.

If he behaves like that on property, he is certainly worse when he is picking up things at peoples houses. I can only imagine how poorly he treats his helper. He probably has road rage and expresses his entitlement and control wherever he goes. He shouldn’t be trusted with any authority at all. Certainly not over people. He is a very angry man.

The woman who was trying to find help to unload the dryer, was upset and shaken. She didn’t deserve that. Nor did the helper. Nor did I.
Very nice outdoor museum. Recommend to wear a good hiking shoes and doesn’t come here when it’s a raining day. All moving dinosaurs are outdoor. A small indoor Dino dig sand pit is cute for little kids. Overall, it’s a good museum for young kids.
When I dropped several boxes off the attendant was sitting outside on his cell phone. I unloaded most of the stuff before he came to help. He was pleasant enough and moved the last item from my car to the storage unit.
I like the Salvation Army. They do a lot of good in a lot of places. We shouldn't judge an organization by one worker.

I personally have not interacted with anyone but I drive by this place everyday and they are always at work, really appreciate having people like this in our community!
We love this awesome science museum!!! 😍
I, 1st went on a field trip with my daughter last year!!! This time we had a fun field trip of our own!
Enjoyed the butterflies 🦋, hiking, sightseeing, animals, beautiful outdoors!!! Love that it’s a little hidden treasure!
Our kids also love the little play houses!
The indoor museum had so many natural collections so awesome to see!!!

Will definitely come back and enjoyed every minute!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Great for adventure!
If you have small kids, I’d recommend good walking shoes for them sunscreen and water. It’s a very good place to go hiking. If that’s what you’re into you see nature and just the smell out there. It’s just pure amazing. It’s hard to find places that have that amount of greenery nowadays so it honestly was a breath of fresh air
Heard Science Resource Center is providing such an amazing service.
My husband and I have shopped here for years. The staff is friendly and we’ve found some awesome deals on a variety of things.
Helping our neighbors is the icing on the cake.
Very disappointed! I guess I’ve been watching too many You Tube videos of the person walking around a clean and organized and pretty Habitat store, definitely not the McKinney store. Videos must be a different in a different state. The worker were great but the store is filthy and smells. I always feel in need of a bath when I leave. Definitely overpriced. They had these beautiful pillows in that nasty store that were originally over $300 each and they wanted $75 each. Too much! Most items were over priced. I was looking for nice home decor and there is not really anything there. Will try a different city to see if its store may be better.

H2O has been a Blessing to so many and I can't wait to see what's next for this amazing outreach program.
Great place to find inexpensive used furniture and other household items. My daughter wanted to find some antique tea cups, which we didn't find much choice of, but there was a ton of furniture. Everything from office, to home furniture. There's lots of light fixtures, as well as bathroom remodel items. I was expecting a regular thrift store, but this was very different. No clothing, but tons of household items and furniture.

The vegetables are awesome...from ground to table
The entry is at the back of the building. This place has a little bit of everything. Beds, frames, couches, shovels, doors
Disappointed in this store lately. I have been donating and shopping here for 6+ years. Recently I think they had some management changes because it seems like overnight the prices skyrocketed. I was in there today and they wanted $250 for a small dresser that had scratches, broken parts and drawers falling out/off track. This no longer seems like the resale shop it once was. I use to donate my old furniture then go in and buy new furniture to fix up and replace it. I can’t tell you the last time I actually walked out of there with something. It use to be my favorite place to recommend to people. Now it’s just a little too expensive for what it is.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. THE KIDS LEARNED ALOT OF THE YEAR. EVERY TIME THEY COME HOME THEY HAPPY. YOU MAKE THEM FEEL LIKE SOMEBODY. LOVE YOU.
This is a hidden gem. If you're remodeling I would go here first to see if you can save some cash. It's not just used product but some obviously overstocks and some good prices. If you did furniture come here and take a look. Yes people donated this stuff but none of it's stuff that you're scared to sit on. Great value and a great charity support
I will definitely add photos later of all the things I have bought from here. My headboard, two side tables, and an almost brand new bureau, and recently a wingback chair. I absolutely love this place! The prices are amazing, the staff is friendly and super helpful. Do not sleep on this place for sure if you are looking for affordable pieces for your home. 😍
Great place to shop for a hidden gem. I found a great office desk and file cabinet that was brand new and sold at Costco for 600 and I got it for 250. I have purchased various pieces of furniture that just needed some cleanup. And I have my eye out for various pieces for remodeling projects. And donate your furniture and extra building materials here. The go to a great cause
This place is a little gem. They sell home decor, furniture, appliances and little things to help you with projects such as paint, paintbrushes, hardware, etc. Prices are reasonable. Go check them out.
The Habitat for Humanity offers a resale Center that you can purchase donated items from them. They have a few notices concerning social distancing and wearing masks and the staff wears them, but they don't enforce others requiring to wear a mask. They all seem to be a very nice bunch of people and answered questions when I ask them. Some of the prices are really great, while other items seem to be a bit overboard in their cost, but still considering you're helping a very good nonprofit, probably worth it just for the sake of doing what is right. Helping others. They are a bit far out and all the way up in McKinney but if you're in the area could be worth checking out. I have seen some things I will go back for later for some future projects that I have. Loads of building materials furniture appliances and lots of other stuff.

Asia is doing an amazing thing up here in mckinney with her organization. She works nonstop helping her community. 💛💛
Great place with a great purpose. Huge selection of builder materials and all things remodel. Highly recommend
When I donate to Salvation Army, I know those items or funds go to people who genuinely need a helping hand or a fresh beginning. They are families and individuals who struggle to better themselves. In that way, they are the same as me.
We move to McKinney nearly twelve years ago and have consistently checked the Restore for products to supplement our various remodels. Several houses later, we are very satisfied.

You need to visit frequently to patch good deals because other shoppers will them before you. My top items include stained glass lamps, antique furniture (know how to pick selected pieces - rare find) and vintage tools.

Prices have a tiered markdowns system by color. If you don't like the price then wait a few days. At that point, don't be afraid to haggle.
Always different stuff. They make sure to clean it up before they put it out on the floor. I have even seen them remove paint from a dining table to make it more appealing. Really nice people to shop with and the prices are good too.
