It's very small and they didn't have enough seating for 3 kids and myself. We drove from far south Bexar county. Only to be told they didn't have a table available. My daughter pointed out that there was one table open with 3 chairs. I would have been more than happy to let my kids sit there while I stood and helped. Other than that, the place looked like it would have been a great time.
I came to “Clay Casa New Braunfels” today with my very eager five-year-old. When we arrived at 10:20 AM, we were turned away at the door. The staff informed us that we wouldn’t be able to paint because they had a reservation coming in at 2:30 PM. We were told we couldn’t paint before or after the reservation.

I feel they should have allowed us to paint beforehand or set aside a section for walk-ins while accommodating their reservation. Instead, I was told I could schedule a reservation for two people in the future to come back and paint. I left with a crying five-year-old, and we will not be returning.
If anybody is lucky enough to have Jules when coming in, she is the epitome of customer service. From the moment we came in to paint to the day we went in to pick up our goodies, she was on top of ensuring that our experience was top notch. I hope that the owner/manager sees this, and recognizes what a gem they have on their staff. She will be the reason that we return. See you soon, Jules! :)

Went with my sister to go paint and relax. We both enjoyed it, plenty of selections to choose as well with paint. You can take as long as you need to paint, they have tools to help with intricate designs. The atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming. It doesn’t take long to get your piece back from firing either. Overall good experience, good to do with someone or just by yourself.
The class was fun getting to work with the clay. The post class experience wasn’t the best. I didn’t hear that I could paint my pieces until I reached out. Which isn’t terrible they were quick to respond. But then for pick up of my final pieces the reminders have been a bit aggressive, the tone of the person leaving the voicemail came across curt. And a piece that had fallen off is missing, but other pieces that had fallen off were reattached which I appreciate. Hence the rating being 4 stars.
In person most of the staff are friendly, just the rude pick up voicemails turned me off.

This was my second time going! It was relaxing and fun at the same time! The ladies that was working was very friendly & helpful!
Only con- There is never enough parking!
This is a fun, relaxing environment. The ladies who work here are excellent at explaining the how's of painting. (I have never done the tile work. It is available.) You basically choose what you wish to paint. Then, you choose the colors you wish to paint your item with. While they get the paints ready, you go get the paint brushes you want to use. The best thing I can share is to use at least 3 applications of the paints. I love the thin liners that you can use to outline and even sign your pieces! You turn in your painted pieces and pay the fees. Then you come back in 2 weeks after the pieces have been put in the kiln to be fired. You pick them up and get to enjoy the beautiful pieces you painted.
Excellent customer service! I brought my 9 year old niece to paint some pottery and she loved it! And she doesn't sit still for long periods of time (we spent three hours painting). All of the employees were very attentive and helpful. I look forward to returning and picking up my completed pieces.
