Enjoyed the meal, this place was recommended to me and it was quite delicious had some pasteles which are a fried rectangular dish stuffed with your choice— I had cheese and pastel de palmito. It is quite greasy so make sure you get some napkins. There is a large language barrier where the members speak only in Portuguese which is a minor problem although had a tough time communicating for the wait time. They make these fresh so be prepared to wait. It also gets pretty hot inside so may feel uncomfortable on a hot day. It’s a cute little shop and highly recommend supporting local shops!
Absolutely delicious food (very affordable) and excellent service. I used to eat here everyday during lunch, for almost 2 years. Highly recommended!
Great service!!!
Went for dinner on a Sunday evening, place wasn’t busy. Manager was attentive and got us a table within 5 mins. There are several options to choose from . An all you can eat for $44.99 on the weekends (different pricing during the week) Self service for $12.99 per pound and Al la carte but we weren’t made aware of that. We decided to do the self service $12.99 per pound since we knew we weren’t going to eat $45 /per person worth of food. The waitress comes to your table to take your drink order. You’re then instructed to go up to get your food buffet style. Remember you’re paying per pound so be aware that you’ll be paying for everything you put on the plate. There’s a salad bar , hot food bar, rice, beans, potatoes, pork and fish. At the meat section you can let the person cutting the meat know what you want.Theres a sign above with the different cuts of beef and chicken, along with sausages. After that you get to the scale and the person weighs your food for everyone in your party. You’re given a number for your table in case you go up for seconds or thirds. The food was ok, I found the meat to be on the salty side but usually that’s expected from Brazilian steakhouses. Others in our party thought the meat was a bit tough. There was live entertainment which was fun to listen to at the beginning but then we really couldn’t have a conversation. We basically ate and decided to leave.
***Pay attention to your bill ***
When it was time to pay we noticed they included an automatic 18% gratuity for a party of 6 to the bill. I can justify paying that, if we were actually getting table service. But the only time the waitress came around was to take the order for our drinks. Everything else we did ourselves. We noticed it after paying and decided to leave the bill as is. We felt it would have been more complicated to ask them to adjust it since the music in the background was so loud. Overall, it was an ok establishment. If we do go back I’ll definitely be paying attention to our bill.

I have to say that this restaurant serves the best food. My absolute favorite is their fish in sauce. The flavors are exceptional, and I can’t get enough of it. I highly recommend trying it!
Too Good To Go
I bought 2. Delicious food and well served!
Man, this place I tried yesterday...Absolute game changer! The meat was so fresh it practically melted in my mouth. If you're all about that meat life, you've gotta check it out. Skewers just kept coming and I was living for it. Meat lovers, this one's for you!

Not worth it.
Came in with 2 more people and nobody came to sit us when we arrived.
We sat at one of the tables and waited for almost 5 minutes. Since no one came to the table, we had to go ask for the menu.
Then call someone again when we were ready to order. Out of the three drinks we ordered, we only received two, and had to ask two different servers if we could get the third one, which came later.
The service was really bad. The workers didn’t look very interested in serving people. They did not come to check on us even once while we were seated and there was a lady working in flip-flops. Also, they weren’t busy at all.
The food was average but I would not go back there because of the overall experience.

I ordered a surprise bag at this place. I was packed with terrible food that can’t be eaten. Pieces of some fish were so oversalted that I could only try one. There was also a fried chicken bone on which there was no meat and salted rice at all. None of this was edible had to be thrown away. It was a very bad experience. I don’t recommend it to anyone.
This is our first time trying out Brazilian cuisine. Food was delicious. We ordered codfish ball and tres leche cake. Both seemed authentic Brazilian foods

Amazing food but the environment is not the best.
Very easy to access via public transit (Davis Sq to Sullivan Sq bus), this tucked away pastelaria takes you south if the equator to true Brazilian delights. They offer a massive selection of pastéis, from chicken and cheese to guava and cheese. The coxinha was a bit too large and the chicken in the middle dried out a bit. Overall, the chicken seemed a bit dry but was definitely redeemed by the crispy, flaky shell of the pastéis itself (easy to air fry!). I definitely will be returning, with so many more things to try

Was my first foray into Somerville and cycled my way in. I was greeted at the door by a burly but friendly guy and walked into patrons singing and saw a proper stage with instruments and a singer.

Walked over to see a buffet style menu with fresh meats being made and some premade dishes and a salad bar. The server got my order for pickup and filled my dish which had corn, chicken, salad, rice and beans and fried plantain. It was flavorful and not spicy and I wolfed down my order in no time. The dish did have a lot of plantains which aren't my favorite but not that they weren't reasonable.
Lovely and decent Brazilian food, buffet and cocktail drinks.
I absolutely loved Modelos. My son had picked up some sweet bread from them so I had to go back as soon as I possiblity could to pick up more. I highly recommend them

This will be the closest i can get to real Brazilian cooking!!

The restaurant works in 2 ways, a la cart or the 'buffet style's I would highly suggest the buffet style!!!! You pay the pound. The exact way you would in Brazil!

Highly recommend this place and the staff are super nice and helpful.
I am from Brazil and lived in North Carolina for a long time. There is no Brazilian restaurants over there, so coming here was a very pleasant experience. Thanks guys, the food and service was amazing

Food is good.
We gave the waitress all our numbers
At the end, she tries to tell us we did not give her one of our cards and so they would have to charge us open price for the salad bar.
Pretty good place to grab breakfast 🍳 🥞, if you like trying multi-cultural food. This Brazilian place is a great one to eat breakfast. I try their omelette and it was so good and worth the price. Pretty big size. I also love the variety of thing they have there. Like the sweet bread for coffee and the desserts.

All the employees are very charming and always greet me and my friends very pleasant. Always make me feel welcome.
What a pleasant experience! These people were some of the nicest people I've encountered. The food was delicious! If you are ever in the area be sure to stop in.
Genuinely amazing! The staff was so kind and friendly. You could really tell that everyone who works there is genuinely excited about the amazing food and want to share the experience with you. Very authentic Brazilian.
My cousin spent a year in Brazil and I spent a year working at a Brazilian restaurant elsewhere in the states and we were both thrilled with the selection and quality. My cousin says Modelos Market Cafe is the only place in Massachusetts he trusts to get an acai bowl. The cheese bread, the pork, the juices and the desserts were all mind blowing.
We also had someone with us with dairy and gluten allergies and they were able to have an amazing time as well.
Definitely going back even though it's hike from where I live.
store closed 30 minutes earlier (4:30 pm) than the time posted on the glass at the main entrance. IT'S NOT THE FIRST TIME, if you're going to close 30 minutes earlier, let them know on the itinerary that the store is open until 5 but 30 minutes earlier they won't accept any more customers, horrible!

Food was extremely tasty, came out quickly, and at an unbeatable price. Everyone was very kind and they took a long time answering my questions (to make sure there was no dairy). Vegan/vegetarian options. Nice place to relax and read or study.

Food was good especially the white sauce, unique and tasty. The price was also reasonable.
I normally love their food however there must have been a drop in quality control. I bought 3 mousse de Maracujá this morning as a gifts for my friends only to find out when I arrived that there was mold in them. Check what you buy before you leave. It’s difficult to tell but I know it’s moldy because the spots of blue are furry in comparison to the rest of the cream

Nice pastelitos! The girl at the cash register spoke good English, Spanish and Portuguese which is helpful. She was also very helpful and patient taking the time to explain to me what things where and the prices. I got a cavasa coconut pudding bread , flan, and a chocolate hazelnut cake bomb. I also had beef and cheese and onion pastelitos which were so good right out the fryer. Only thing was that it was kind of expensive for what I got. Pastelitos where 7$ each, casava coconut bread 3$, flan 4$, chocolate bomb 3.50$, 2L soda 5$. I recommend the pastelitos for sure!

It was okay. The women behind the counter was nice and polite. I had a coffee, a cookie, a blueberry muffin and a ham and cheese sandwich.
The muffin was dry and I didn’t finish it, the cookie wasn’t for me and the bread in the sandwich was a little hard when biting a piece off. The coffee was really good though, very good.
Good service and great food. Loved

Enjoyed the meal and the ambiance
I love there, everyone is friend and niece. Excellent employees and Brazilian food you won't regret!
Really great taste. Authentic flavors. Loved the pea soup. Loved the tropical fish. There curry and jerk goat was amazing. I can just keep going. Portion sizes work perfect and the gentleman who took our order was very informative in helping us place our order. We ate at the restaurant this time, but we will probably do take out next time.
