Loved it! Wish I had more time that day. Very interesting information about Arizona. The artifacts were amazing. The security and staff there were professional and friendly as well! A definite place to go for families! 😀
I went there on a field trip on April 24, it was amazing! Our guide was very nice and it was great to learn more about our state's history!!
Interesting and free! 4 floors of things to see and read. You'll need 1-2 hours to see it all thoroughly. There is some nice outdoor seating with trees to eat lunch. Plus, Arizona's Liberty Bell is outside as well.
Great museum with lots of well presented exhibits and very knowledgeable volunteer staff. Interactive exhibits if you have kids which is nice. Reasonably priced gift shop is also there.
To many states would tear there old one down. THANK YOU for not doing this. The allows younger generations a chance to take a glimpse into the past and understand what it was like, plus learn about why great politicians where known for. It's refreshing to read about those that cared about people not fame. It's great to understand how grand a time it most of been. The museum also has great volunteers that know a lot, well at least on the Friday we went.
Highly recommend visiting the second floor model train room. Craig was an AMAZING tour guide and taught me so much about AZ's history. The third floor has the best art installations, including an AZ state flag made out of Legos.
The Arizona Capitol Museum was incredible! The building was originally constructed from 1899-1901. This museum is 4 floors with both an elevator for those who need one as well as stairs. There is vast history to learn about the building, the USS Arizona, Arizona governors, etc. Each floor has restrooms. Be sure to grab a map from the desk in the front entrance. The admission is FREE! Allow yourself at least an hour to pour through the history enclosed in each room of each floor.
Tour the AZ Capital Museum, Senate, and House of Representatives
The historic Capitol building housed the Arizona Territorial and State Legislature until 1960 and Executive Offices until 1974. The building was then restored and rededicated as the Arizona Capitol Museum, officially opening in 1979.
Tour on your own or take a guided tour (to learn fun facts like how the statue on top was picked because it was the cheapest in the Sears catalog at the time). See different rotating art and history exhibits throughout the year. Learn the timeline of Arizona becoming a state. See artifacts recovered from the USS Arizona. (My favorite was the wine bottle and glasses given by President Gerald Ford to the last remaining survivors to toast their fallen comrades) Check out the original office of the governor and portraits of governors past. Have fun watching the model railroads running all through a variety of Arizona scenes. See the beautiful tile state seal and find out how it came to be. (And how it was made by artists in another state, after just reading a description, and learn what they left out). Finish by browsing the gift shop for items with the state seal, postcards, books, and more.
Also, be sure to step inside the Senate and House of Representatives to see where our local government meets. You can stand in the public gallery and see the chambers (even while currently being renovated).

Not all science centers are the same! This one is incredible with how many exhibits and hands-on activities it has. There are 3 parking garages around the science center. Families with small children will have so much fun, but so will tweens and teens! This is a 4 level science center with an option of using an elevator or stairs. Each level has a restroom and water station. There is a live demonstration on Level 2, which was super informative! Adult ticket prices are $15 after 1 pm for a limited time (the website didn't specify when this would expire so call ahead). Highly recommended!
I had an awesome time at the science center. So many cool things to see and do! Loved the interactive exhibits and the planetarium show was mind-blowing. Great for all ages. Definitely worth a visit!
What an amazing experience. Very educational. The staff are so kind, welcoming, and friendly. Security was so nice opened the door for all visitors entering. Just Amazing!
Pretty compact yet informative Museum. Staff were helpful and gave a good starter narrative. We enjoyed going through the exhibits with some interactive components.
There was a memorial also included within.

Volunteers were helpful, enjoyed this. It is hard to find, had to ask someone in the courthouse for help and they had forgotten to bring in the closed sign.

I work for an organization with DDD adults with behavioral issues and disabilities in group homes. We have a learning program and wanted to take a field trip to the planetarium. We were there and at the door of the planetarium with most of our group and were told we could not go in because it had already started. It was a safety hazard. This was our whole purpose of being there. Then they pushed us off to some exhibit and a Jane Goodell documentary, which of whom my clients knew nothing about. I feel we wasted 300 dollars and did not receive anything we set out for. The personnel are very rigid and unprofessional and unforgiving to the point where my clients felt they were doing something wrong. I wanted to come back for other sections of our learning program and possibly bring their van packages to our buildings, but after today's session, we, meaning i, just might never deal with them again.
This review hurts to write because I want the science center to be enjoyed by others and receive more funding however I cannot recommend paying to visit currently. The exhibits were not well maintained, the amount of stuff to do was very lacking and it just was not an entertaining time sadly. I would love to see more funding to make this place awesome and fun to visit but it is very far from that currently. I would look at the childrens museum for younger kids and for older kids maybe the Legoland discovery center.
I visited here back in 2017 and found myself learning new things now as well. What I found interesting was my kids commenting how my home state was so different than theirs. Desert yes but knowing the history makes every state. During my visit there was a model train exhibit showcasing the 5 Cs of Arizona. Very lovely how they incorporated this into major towns. Rich history in this place and loved the many hours spent.
Wonderful place. The exhibits are fun and entertaining. Spent about 3 hours here and it was great! The Expedition: Solar System Planetarium thing was fun! It can get cold in there tho. There's a fun bubble exhibit thing (outdoor) and it looked fun (we didn't go) coz the kids (other Ppl's) looked like they were having a blast. A lot of interactive exhibits and even a love show/experiment/showcase. Definitely entertaining for both kids and adults. The bike thing was closed so we didn't get to try.
Came here with my husband and stepson. Very interesting and FREE!!! Fun to spend a little time.
This place is incredible! 👍 Every exhibit seems to be interactive and challenges the kids to think while still having fun and laughing and playing. 😋 Every parent should take their kids here. 😉 There's actually not enough time in a day to see and interact with every science exhibit. 😊

Very informational. Great displays. Helpful staff. Shows the origins of Miranda Rights. Car, motorcycle, helicopter, etc on display. Pay homage to fallen officers and K9 officers. 9-11 memorial. Don't miss this museum!
Small museum, but great people take care of it and also take care of you. I have learned some interesting history of the police department and the Miranda warnings. If you are in Phoenix you will not regret paying a visit. (by the way, it's free!)
I had a really great experience coming here for the first time! I'm very grateful that I could witness different pieces of history. My grandpa is a retired lieutenant who served the Phoenix police force, so it was nice to have him as well as my cousin there. Our tour guide, Tammy, was super nice and friendly, and she gave us a lot of good information and let us take a ton of pictures of different artifacts. Mike was also very accommodating towards my grandpa and kept him company, and I appreciated his help getting me in and out of the parking lot. My favorite part of my visit was seeing the old police cars, motorcycles and helicopter, as well as the official documents from the Miranda rights trial. The police memorial was really beautiful and the stained glass paintings were well done.
The correct address for the museum is 17 South 2nd Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85003. Its on the south side of the Maricopa County Courthouse. If you are downtown, take the time to stop by and see the museum. The staff is friendly and loves chatting with the guests. The museum is set up well, including the first helicopter that PPD owned. I was fortunate enough to have gone on a day one of the first pilots who flew that helicopter was working. So many great stories about the amazing people who wore the Phoenix Police uniform.
