Great playground close to I-40 to get our wiggles out. Nice equipment, somewhat shady, and benches for us adults.

Perfect spot to bring your personal watercraft like a paddleboard, kayak, canoe, or tube. Parking fills up on the weekends so plan accordingly. No fixed facility restrooms here just portable outhouses. This is also a beautiful section of the greenway trail. You're directly asking the river for a nice bit with not too much vegetation to block the view.

Nice walk with places to stop and sit by the creek! A walk that’s good for the soul!!

Great park! Loved hitting baseballs here with the pup! Very clean with playground in the back!

Great site to start and end long walks on the French Broad River Greenway. It is usually not as crowded for parking and there seems to be less trouble than one might encounter at Carrier Park or other locations along the river.

Good spot for throwing out a tube or fishing line. Portable toilets there and next to the river arts district

Really beautiful trail! Botanical Garden is right off the path and has many flowers and mature trees.

It’s a nice place to hang out away from the business of town. There were some people walking, and a few people hanging out in the bushes, but it didn’t feel unsafe or anything. But the parking/sidewalk situation leaves something to be desired. Nothing amazingly special but I liked it.

Nice quite small park with a playground for children. A good walking area.

Nice paved, out and back trail for running. Went in the morning and it was nearly empty. Heads up: large sections of the trail run right along the side of a busy road (at least at 8am).
Overall, enjoyed the views of the river and the small rolling hills towards the end of the trail.

Went for an autumn afternoon walk with the dogs there recently.
Beautiful landscape paved walkways and beautiful stone hard scape entrances. A long low babbling creek to disguise your gossip with friends is along side and there’s lights and emergency phones along the way.
It’s narrow and short so it’s great for a nice quick walk or exercise routine.
Busy 4 lane arterial road to navigate at rush hour. Parking isn’t ideal.

Seemed like a good place to park and enjoy the pleasant weather for a minute only a few blocks from the mainstreet crowds till we realized the bathroom's were locked. We left within 5m's of getting there. I wasn't there long enough to notice if there were any signs to confirm if the statue is supposed to be MLK, but if it was it wasn't a very well likeness of him at all and further more I do not believe MLK was 4 feet tall in real life. I had confused feelings and thoughts about a city that would dedicate a park to a man that was bigger than life itself with so much common sense and wisdom he freely shared with us all, but yet "WE" make him a 4 feet tall statue and lock the bathrooms all the time on top of it only being a stones throw from across the street from a 4 square block radius Sheriff's Office, lol.
🤷♂️🤪🙄
I think at the very least replace the man with a 5'7 statue as not to belittle the man literally or maybe put a wall up describing the odd events of his last days and maybe why his security detail was called off by politicians or how the shooter/shooters knew this as well so we never stop trying to question our history or rewrite it or send mixed messages to the future generations.

Returned to the area for the East End Festival. Had a wonderful time. The neighborhood has changed, and some of the new residents were not very friendly. But, the Park is well kept and a perfect location for this event.

This is a really nice small park at the end of a dead end street. It's my favorite section of the greenbelt, going from here to Carrier Park. There's also a little free library, some benches (and maybe picnic tables, I forget.) Then halfway up the hills is an outdoor gym, and farther up is a larger field that's fairly private from the rest of the park below. There is also homeless activity, of course, but when I went up there it looked pretty clear.
And if you look across the water from here, you can see the roofline of the Biltmore! (I think.)

nice community park with basketball court, good sized playground and baseball field

Nice little detour... Not sure I would venture here after dark given the figures lurking in the shadows but during the day it's a nice little change of scenery.

This is a neighborhood park there is no parking Park is very small clean cute for small children 😁

My family and I met some wonderful folks and the kids had an incredible time.

This was a really cool and unique park. There were interactive games that can be played solo or as a group. The playground was kept really clean and nice. It is a bit on the larger scale as far as equipment goes but over all my 1 year old had no problems and my 3 year old was loving every minute of it. There were some really unique climbing structures and it held adults very well. It was clearly well built. Right next to the playground they have exercise equipment. My husband tried them al out and had a blast. So this park is not just for children but also for the grown up kids 😉

Nice outside playground and some really cool electronic games outside. Inside basketball court and other things to do outside basketball courts as well. It's a very nice clean park. The people that work here are extremely nice

I was greeted with a smile of Friendship by the lady running the Youth Center inside the other day. It felt great, thank You 💖.
I utilize the outside fitness equipment. One question, is the cycling station adjustable to accommodate the length of my legs?

Parked here to ride my bike along the French Broad Greenway. Nice spot to park at the south end of the greenway, not a lot of parking so get there early. If you’re looking for a picnic spot there are several more places along the greenway that would be more comfortable.
If cycling do not expect to do your top speed. The greenway is a nice place with a lot of walkers who will appreciate your patience in getting around them and letting them know audibly that you are passing them.

This park is so close about a mile or so from our place. The baseball field is clean and kept up nice. I do wish there were more kids around to play! Nice community garden across the street too, nice surprise. There are also these games you can play at the poles and arches. I absolutely love that part of the play ground. Very helpful and fun for learning math.

I took 2 kids here, ages 4&5, and they had a blast! I was really impressed with the different things kids can play with, and the excersise area was nice for me while they played. We'll definitely be coming back!

Great paths. Peaceful.

Great, easy, level bike and walking trails beside the river and close to the art district.

Great small neighborhood park for toddlers and small groups. Includes playground and grass field.

This is a small playground. But a lot of fun. All the kids are awesome & even the parents take part in playing in the games. Glad we found this little gem. Parking is tricky.

This my childhood park it has been remodel with an out side workout area it has a track and a children's play ground. It has a gym and after school programs for are children... have fun be safe

Scenery on the Greenway (where it doesn't break) is great. So refreshing to see real landscapes with a city feel. However, the trail was clearly an after thought because it is extremely short and is not continuous or clear.

Came to visit Asheville from Concord for a wedding. This is a great local park in a beautiful neighborhood! Well maintained and fun for my kids, ages 3 & 4 but would also be great for bigger kids too.

Great playground for little kids and big too!

Repugnant dog walking rule… elitist country club set…

What can you say about a monumental Park that has something to do with a pioneer activist a nonviolence man anytime my 6-year-old wants to sit and take a picture in front of a monumental statue of a man that has done great and is great and worthy things didn't deserves nothing but the best and that's why I gave it nothing but five stars all across the board. Times are changing, and so should we

Sucks that they don’t have temporary tags for out of town folks when walking their dogs on there.

Really nice little park. They recently did a complete update of the playground so it's actually even nicer than many of the pictures here show.

Nice, clean playground. The kids really enjoyed it.

Nice trails very scenic , but is privately owned by residents surrounding the lake and they will not let you walk there without a mask no matter how much distance you place between you and others , and only residents can boat and fish there even if you have an up to date state fishing license .

This park is nestled is a quiet neighborhood surrounded by beautiful homes! Smaller than the standard city park but peaceful as a result. Built into the side of a hill, it offers two discrete play spaces. These are divided by a fence, create a play area for game of catch or fetch with the two- or four-legged, afternoon picnics, creative inspiration, and a well-equipped playground for children.

Nice little walk. Very relaxing. Benches and reading spots.

Beautiful greenway lush with greenery and well paved roads in historic Montford neighborhood. Clean, well maintained and family friendly.

It's a nice, clean park with a full size ball field. The park actually seems to get used by nice and clean people. I took my 2 year old son there and will be taking my 3 year old daughter next week. There's also a newer jungle gym type deal for smaller children or for whatever child has that preference. There didn't seem to be any "druggies" around or any signs of them being there (ex.: dirty needles, trash, etc.). And it's also in a pretty nice part of town. Also it has a private parking lot for the park along with on-site separate-sex, semi-private restrooms!

No where are signs posted that you cannot walk your dogs at this park unless you pay a “$100 monthly fee and have the tags from the community”
Gentleman that was cutting the grass told me to pay the $100 or get out.
Obviously I left and went to another park.
He also stated it was a “private park” however once again did not see any signs stating this. Only signs I saw were for the boating activities.
Lake is beautiful however and park does seem to be up kept nice.

Nice quiet place. Ate lunch looking at the lake with my daughter. Awesome!

The park is nice. Unfortunately, the French Broad River is pretty polluted. There are areas near the river that have an unpleasant odor. This area is very busy in the summer.

Great new playground for kids. Bathroom access is spotty.

A beautiful lake to take a walk around, and a great place to get out and get flat-land exercise.

$50 dog registration fee, only good at this one park
