A nice pond on a lovely day. It has a great energy, with people walking, relaxing, picnicking, and sketching. The swan boat was interesting but the boat area is fairly small, so I would not recommend it.
I do not think it is worth it to travel 1 hr from inner Tokyo just to see this pond and park though, especially if you are not a park enthusiast and especially if the weather is not great. Once you are here though, it is definitely pleasant and serene!

Beautiful. But ruined by the sheer amount of people jammed into the area. You can rent boats on the north side
Nice and beautiful park to spend a day in. Lot of activities. But this was a Cherry Blossom hunting trip and that a bit disappointed, not in the park, but in my planning. Sunny day with dying down wind, a beautiful day to spend with my love one. A stroll in the park, taking pictures, watching others posting in front of the few Cherry Blossom trees, sitting down relaxed by the lake, I am satisfied.
6 mins walk from Kichijōji station. No cherry blossom sighting for now (7 Mar 2024). Lovely place to rest and eat a sandwich. Playground for kids in sight. Paddle swan boats and boats available for rent. Cool street with thrift stores and eateries on the way to the park.
Clean and comfortable place to get fresh air and meditate. The place is peaceful and not noisy at all. Many trees and blooming flowers will make you feel better. There are many things to watch and nearby there are cafes too.
Best scene / view / leisure in tokyo. A must if you love forest and pond.
A really nice pond in the middle of a popular park. Especially photogenic during the sakura season with lots of cherry blossoms and the swan boats are around.
The Sakura season boating is amazing. Tickets are available at the vending machine at the dock. No reservations needed. 30min session felt pretty short and we only went to half of the pond, book 2 sessions if you have the time.
