Although small, this charming space of unspoiled nature is very authentic . It exhibits what vegetation was like in the area before overdevelopment occurred and provides a respite from urban life. If you look up you may unexpectedly find perched on the tall pines, owls and ospreys or, unfortunately, if look to the sides, a few weirdos or druggies in the woods from time to time :-)

What more can you ask Nature's at its best very clean I love it me and my girl walk it all the time and you don't have to be afraid even at night

Not many people. Great place to walk, with or without a dog, or ride a bike. Bathrooms clean. Opens at 6:30AM.

Comparatively affordable pavilion rentals to other parks, and they refund your deposit if you can keep the pavilion the way it was when you got there. Very accommodating and simple process. We go here all the time to enjoy the park as well.

This is a great little park to explore nature in the heart of the Woodmont neighborhood. Surprised that it was somewhat quiet based on the amount of car traffic nearby. Great place to just listen to nature.

Waters Edge Park is a beautiful and versatile park that has something for everyone! 😍🌳 Alongside the amazing splash pad, you'll find a wide array of amenities to enjoy. Take a leisurely stroll on the walking path, or get active at the exercise station and basketball court. Kids will have a blast at the playground and kiddie splash area. 🚶♂️🏀🎡
The playground is shaded and truly amazing, offering an array of climbing equipment, thrilling slides, and swings for all ages. 👧👦👶 It's the perfect spot for kids to let their imagination run wild and have endless hours of fun. 🤸♀️🎢🏃♂️ However, currently, the zip line swing is down (hopefully just for maintenance, and it will return). 😔
For those who love sports, there's also a volleyball court to enjoy. 🏐 When it's time to unwind, there are plenty of benches and pavilions where you can relax and have a picnic. 🍔🥤 And if you fancy a barbecue, you'll be pleased to know that there are charcoal grills available as well. 🍢🔥
Need a break from all the activities? Head over to the fishing dock and try your luck catching some fish. 🎣 And the best part? The park provides clean and well-maintained bathrooms for your convenience. 🚻💧
With such a wide range of amenities, a fantastic splash pad, and an incredible shaded playground, Waters Edge Park truly is a must-visit destination for families and individuals alike. 🏞️👨👩👧👦 So, come on down and experience the joy and refreshment this park has to offer! 🤗🌊

Great place to let the kids run around and get some energy out in a beautiful and clean gated area. We went to the Splash Park with a 1 year old and a 2 year old and both had a great time. (splash areas accommodate multiple acres). Also, they have shaded picnic tables and nearby Bathrooms for those kids who are still Potty training!!

It a beautiful park very clean 👌. You get the playground and a splash pad kids of all ages love it and enjoy it

This is one of the more bigger parks in the area. Each play area, that is the splash pad and playground, are fenced with lovely colourful, plastic fences to keep the kiddies in. The splash pad is quite impressive! No slides or house like structures. Just enough for toddlers to enjoy themselves. The playground has many different structures for the children to play on and is covered which is nice. The grounds are quite big considering it’s in the middle of a suburban area. There’s a basketball court and volleyball court complete with sand and a net. There is a workout station in the back. Some people bring blankets and sit on the grass to have a tiny picnic. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Parking is an issue though. There are only so many spots in the park, if it’s full you can park in the parking lot across the street by the school. This is a great place to tire your kiddies out!

Nice and clean linear park, good for walking. Playground is all the way towards the end of the park, with small parking lot, it is exposed to sun with no covering, has fake grass which creates a lot of static electricity, and constantly shocks kids when going between play stations. The gym station side is covered - go figure. There is also a nice dock to spot some canal life. All in all a nice park for a short stay.

This park is a beautiful 4/10 mile paved walk through the woods, perfect for casual jogging or walking with the elderly. There's 10 parking spaces. No bikes or skateboards are allowed. I'm somewhat puzzled by the one-way signs, however.

My wife and I always enjoy our visits. It’s a peaceful walk through nature in Tamarac. It’s not a long trail.
It’s a paved trail. A ramp halfway through takes you on a decking that would make it easy for strollers and wheelchairs.
There are a few benches for sitting along the trail.
We always take our time and appreciate wild life around us. We always observe plenty of bird types, squirrels, butterflies, and etc.
They have a few displays with what kind of wildlife is in the area. They state grey fox’s and owls are in the area.

Amazing park just a block away from University Drive. It's a little hidden, but a great facility. There's a splash pad and a beautiful newly constructed playground. Plenty of parking and lots of places to sit. There's a bathroom that's really clean, too.
The biggest drawing point is a piece of play equipment. It's built like a combination of a swing and a zip line. I've never seen anything like it. Hours of fun for sure.

A nice, quiet little park that runs along the west side of the C14 canal/Stranahan River There is a dog park for your furry friends 🐕 with lots of dog owners in the area. It's a clean and relaxing place for joggers, cyclists, and freshwater anglers alike.

Dress comfortably, bring cool iced water and snacks and a good book to read because you kids will not want to leave.
The wet area is very colorful and you may get wet, so dress accordingly and also bring your own folding portable chairs as I find that this area doesn't have enough Seating. Don't forget towels and sunscreen.

This is a small urban natural area that is well reviewed! I always see Butterflies and often Dragonflies too! On this visit I spotted the Zebra longwing and Giant Yellow Swailowtail Butterflies! Beautiful tall Pines too! As a local the only negative is that the back area Boardwalk can be aTeen hangout spot after school and even a Sat afternoon. A small group will hang out smoking. So if you don't mind passing by them, then it's fine. It is the only nature trail where I have seen that. I was there at 12 on a weekday and it was fine!

What an excellent fenced in FREE water park! There’s also a fenced in playground! Can’t wait to come back. Thank you Tamarac! Slam dunk. Seeing all the children playing together is so wonderful.
Update: I’ve called twice to ask if the fence has been mended, was told it had been. Arrived today for a planned gathering with others and was brought to tears. A mother can not chase two toddlers with multiple massive pieces of the fenced enclosure missing. Please fix this issue so the park can be enjoyed by everyone.
Update: I drove by in 2023 and the fence appeared to be fixed from what I could see.

This is a small loop to walk. There are signs with QR codes through the loop that link you to informative YouTube videos to enjoy during your visit. Beautiful plant life and scenery the entire walk.

This park presents a variety of foliage and some wildlife. During hot days the trees provide a great canopy of shade and the concrete walkway which runs throughout the habitation area makes for a very pleasant trek through this habitation area. Don’t forget to bring a mask, in case social distancing isn’t possible, for some nature lovers camp out on the sprinkle of available park benches.

😂

This is what is called a pocket park located on the southwest corner of McNab Road and Pine Island Road. There isn't even a parking lot. The park is open sunrise to sunset. This park features a fountain and sculpture, paved walkway, landscaping, and benches with shade overhangs.
In the center of the park is a fountain with an art sculpture by Tamarac artist George Gadson. George Gadson graduated from Duke University and has been commissioned to create works of art for events and people. Some of his most well known works include two South Florida Super Bowl bronze commemorative sculptures named The Quarterback in 1995 and The Kicker in 1999. The sculptures were given to the National Football League Team owners. According to the Tamrac City website "Gadson seeks to bring back to life the forgotten history found in many communities, stimulate the imagination within an otherwise sterile environment, or simply capture civic memories through creative design works in variety of mediums. His artistic elements aid in rebuilding the tangible and intangible characters of a community, bring disparate groups together, create safer neighborhoods, establish a "Sense of Place", and promote a greater sense of belonging."
The piece that Gadson created for Tamarac in 2005 in the fountain is named Egretta Thula which is the genus name for one of my favorite Florida birds, the snowy egret, a small white heron. It is a six foot tall bronze sculpture of a snowy egret created to remind us that we need to protect our environment and the wildlife that lives in it. It is a sentiment I fully support. The piece was developed with input from businesses and residents of Tamarac, both adults and school children.
While driving around Tamarac I was surprised to see how many large art pieces there were on the side of the road. Those sculptures as well as this piece are a result of the Public Art Program which was approved by the City Commission in May 2004 in order to provide art to beautify the the city and commemorate its history. George Gadson is the current Chairman of the committee. The Public Art Program is funded by the Public Art Ordinance which requires "that 1% of the construction value of new projects or improvements be set aside for public art." If the city chooses not to use the funds they are returned to the developer. Now that I know a little more about the art works I am going to keep an eye out for them. I never knew you could do an art tour in Tamarac.

Good to visit

1 East Everglades on West Southgate Blvd. in Tamarac Florida, this open area makes great use under the Big Power Lines. Dog Browning approved.

The Hibiscus are in bloom in Tamarac

Very good place to Run.

This is a perfect place to walk on hot summer days because the majority of the pathway is shaded by trees. It's a loop path about 875 steps around. Totally paved either with asphalt, concrete and even a boardwalk. Birds, butterflies and turtles are common. There are also a couple benches for sitting. Throughout the park there are displays showing and explaining the different foliage and butterflies common to the area.

No parking. Very small. But there is lights at night so that's good

This is a great place for a casual walk. Along the c14 canal with beautiful views. Always clean! Three different parking lots and two of them have access to public restrooms. There's a nice little playground for kids close to one of them. Roped off areas throughout this park to protect the burrowing owls that love to make an appearance and even pose for you. This is also the beginning of the Cypress Trail which runs all the way to the Atlantic. I frequently see bikes on the trail but not so many that it upsets my yorkie while we're walking.

Tephford Park is named after police officer Brian Tephford who was killed in Tamarac in 2006 while conducting a traffic stop. The park that bears his name was dedicated in 2008.
The park is the start of the Cypress Creek Greenway, 16.5 miles of paved paths that lead from the edge of the Everglades in Tamarac down to the ocean in Pompano. The part of the path in the park parallels Southgate Boulevard on one side and C-14 Canal on the other and continues for nearly 3 miles under power lines.
The actual linear park is 1.5 miles with three parking lots that are spaced along the perimeter. This makes it an ideal spot for runners and bikers and I saw a lot of people doing both on my visit. Other park amenities include a playground with children's rock climbing wall, fishing pier, picnic pavilions, benches, and restrooms although they were locked when I checked.
In addition to all of the things that make this park great for humans it is also popular with burrowing owls as well. All along the path were areas roped off for burrowing owls. Although I didn't see any actual owls I saw a lot of signs alerting to their presence.
This park is great for runners, bikers, and walkers, as well as families who are just looking for a place to take the kids to run around. At the park dedication Brian Tephford's widow expressed how grateful she was to have this park as a memorial to her children's father. Although they are probably grown now the park remains to honor a man who lost his life in the line of duty. It's a sacrifice that should never be forgotten.

Used to be a great place for a dog walk. But more and more, it is getting dangerous with all the bicyclers. They don't warn you when they are coming up behind you and just swerve around you. Very easy to get hit or have one of your dogs hit. It's happened to me twice this weekend.

nice

Beautiful little corner park with a cute fountain that is also a Pokémon Gym. Nice place to get some Florida sun and soak up the car exhaust. (I jest.)
