This park is phenomenal! I love the open space and the parking design to encourage you to walk and take in the fresh air and enjoy the beautiful greenery. I love the fact that the playground is a bit hidden and off the main road of sorts. The park is well maintained. In my opinion and has plenty of spots where you can have a family gathering, where it's not competing with other gathering. I would have liked more play grounds for the children. And maybe an enclosed dog park that would just set this park over the top. You might have a dog park, but I didn't see it. It's beautiful, it's peaceful and I appreciate it
Clean and well maintained park. However, lacks “public” access and requires a permit for most of the fields. Very unfortunate.
It’s a lot of fun however the gate hole allows for a dog to get through. My 40 lbs staffie slid through the cracks. The gate just needs to be fixed to be safe. Otherwise very beautiful and amazing!
Awesome park with baseball fields, soccer/football fields, dog park, and an incline skating rink. The walking trail was also nice which travels around the entire park. There is also a children's playground with a picnic area.
I went there for a barbecue that a friend invited me to.

It's a nice, quaint, quiet little park. There are pavilions and a rally nice playground area. The bathrooms were clean, too. I was expecting a big state park like I'm used to, so more direct signage would make it easier to find the pavilion area.

I didn't get born while I was there either, not sure if the park is responsible for that.

If I we looking to have something there, I wouldn't hesitate.
Love this place! Clean, quiet, nice place to walk with the kids.
I grew up on this street . My dad's ashes were released at this park because this was a special place - growing up for him. It's absolutely beautiful. Should cut the tall grass around the water - so VISIBILITY is easier-
Great walking paths and lots of wildlife.

Kid friendly park usually pretty empty and my children enjoy the slides and other playground parts.
I heard they are going to renovate this place. The kids love it and it feels safe. Bathrooms are indoor and a short walk away. Only complaint is poor sight lines of the kids. It’s really only one way in one way out though.

An excellent mountain biking trail with some challenging sections. A variety of loops to explore.
Very beautiful park with lots of play activities for kids.
There were very few hikers during my hike. It made a difference because I took plenty of silly photos. The path is well maintained.
Nice small park with good trails and especially looks nice in the Fall. Well maintained.
Great playground for kids of all ages. Lots of space to run around and tons of different equipment to play on.
Great local park.

Excellent for walkers, runners, their pets, peace, quiet and scenery.
After turning from Ridge Road onto northbound Frederick Road, this Ridge Road Recreational Park locates on the right hand side. There are two entrances. There are three baseball/softball fields (#1, #2, #3), two soccer/football fields (#4, #5), one in-line hockey rink, basketball, tennis, volleyball, picnic areas and shelters, playgrounds, dog park, and restrooms.
Nice trail, only parking for about 7-10 cars, but access is easy. Well covered by foliage for a nice shaded walk. Slightly strenuous ups and downs, just enough to get the heart pumping, but nothing requiring pre-planning...you could walk in sneakers and jeans if you want. Recommend for an easy 1 hr walk.
It's a fun trail with a lot of secret paths and variations and great views. You can actually get lost here, so make sure to pay attention to blue tree markings.

Beautiful place to hike & fish. Paved areas, beautiful scenery & wildlife! Tons of things to do for all ages!
This is one of the parks we go to ( and we go to many) that the kids love the most. It has swings, a castle, pirate ship, 2 small play houses with tables and benches for kids to have 'picnic', musical tools, and even a little trail around it for parents to circle while the kids are playing. Not far from it is another small playground, and lots of picnic areas and fields. Ice cream truck is always there, restroom are clean, the water Fountains are working. Plenty of parking.
The Adventure Playground is a huge complex with a bunch of fun spaces for kids (a full pirate ship, a castle with bridge, animal statues, a bunch of different swings...) My daughter adores it here. I would just say that this space is likely best for slightly older kids you can trust to go up the structures by themselves. There is not great visibility from many places on the ground and the structures are big enough that it is not easy to maneuver to keep an eye on smaller kids.

Easy walking paths in this small piece of natural area in Germantown. A local Girl Scout troup has down a top-notch job of labeling both native and invasive species.

Great little park with nice gravel trails and a pretty river running through it.
Wonderful commune with nature, identify birds, and spot other wildlife including deer and fox. This is a haven for playful busy squirrels!
A good park to visit with kids of ages 2 through 10.

Nicely paved trail by the lake. Beautiful views and peaceful surrounding. Connected to Black Hill Hiker Biker Trail
I'd give it 5 stars if they groomed their trees better, but we were worried the dead branches are gonna fall on us in the storm.
Otherwise pretty well maintained.
Store is Fair priced, but they are definitely for profit...
Great place to take your kids, I took my son and he had a blast and there wasn't too many older kid obstacles to get himself hospitalized over 😂

Well maintained asphalt trail path with great lake views and wildlife. Boardwalk sections can be very slippery when iced over in winter and take several days to melt.

Dawn and Dusk are best times for deer spotting. Good place to play with your dog during off hours, but avoid taking them around sunset. That is when deer emerge, and flocks of geese settIe down for the night.

Pokestops and Pokegyms in the vIcinity for Pokemon Go Players!
Large and fun playground for kids of all ages. The castle theme will keep their imagination busy. Plenty of parking and open bathrooms. There is also trail and lots of green space.
🐵🐵🐵 3 Monkeys = good
There are 2 older climbing structures good for both preschoolers and elementary kids. There’s a set of 2 baby & 2 regular swings. Benches around for big people to rest. There is not a fence around the playground. The parking lot is big and there is a port-a-potty (PU). It’s a bit noisy because of the road traffic but it’s far enough off the road and sidewalk for safety. There’s a soccer and baseball field next to this playground which you can use if the High School next door or any other teams aren’t using them. @everydaykidstravel & @playingwithKiDViD
This by far my daughter’s favorite playground! Is big , clean .
Even the bathrooms are well maintained.
Check this place out , we usually bring lunch To eat , the park has benches to seat and tables !! Great place to bring kids
Fun trail with paved paths. Strongly recommend not wearing hiking shoes.
This is a really good park for mountain bicycles. Please wear a helmet because some places could be dangerous if you are a beginner.

The difficulty level is almost the same for every loop. So you can choose any loop based on the length of the trail. You can spend more than 2h at this place to visit different trails.

There are signs and maps everywhere to find out where to go.

The bathroom is available next to the parking place.

To sum up:
Nice trial if you love riding a mountain bicycle!

Lovely, flat and easy trail, mostly in shade--we walked loop twice. Fun to watch and listen to birds, as well as soak in the greenery. We encountered a few other guests, but it was a quiet, refreshing dip into nature.

Relaxing lakeside walk on beautiful paved trails! Blue heron spotted!
Great parking spot for some of the best local trails (Schaeffer Farms, Seneca Ridge Trail, Hoyles Mill, Seneca Bluffs Trail, Greenway Trail, etc...). Central location for points east, west, north and south. Tons of miles of trails ranging from beginner to intermediate. Very kid friendly trails as well. Must ride.
Nice trees, plants, wildlife, well groomed gravel trails. It feels like you're walking in the woods but you're still in a residential neighborhood. Has a pavilion and picnic tables. Also has a Port-A-Pottie if needed.
My wife and kids didn't want to leave its a very good park for kids
Some parts of trails are not clearly marked but I used Alltrails app to follow the trail. Not too many people and quiet trails on Sunday morning.
Fantastic for mountain biking, but less so for hiking/running... Because of all the mountain biking! The trails are lovely, but be prepared for a busy day if it's nice out.

Nice trails in a location that is easy to get to. Generally the trails do not loop around so you'll have to turn around and come back the same way you went in. I tend to see a good amount of animals during my visit. Deer, turtles etc. There were places with high grass as well.
Great recreational park with playground. Clean and well maintained.
They should be considered a public park that's the worst park ever what the fudge
Really nice and big park for children to enjoy. My grandchildren love this place.
My kids never want to leave this park. They have so much fun here, there is even an ice cream truck that comes here as well in the evening times. Kids sometimes play with other kids they dont know but they become friends. This place has so much to do in one little section of the park its wonderful!
About 45 minutes to get there from DC, this is a great short trip to get out of the house. Pack a picnic and go play with your kiddos. This playground is the biggest I’ve been to yet. There are public restrooms, places to sit and eat your picnic. There’s a castle a pirate ship. It’s pretty amazing!
Great trail for hiking and biking (probably don't want to attempt the trail on a bike if you're a novice though) with lots a hills and winding paths! Not very busy which is a plus for me and I always see some sort of wildlife.
Went here with our puppy on Saturday. It was a great walk/hike with nice views. Lots of trees kept of shaded from the sun. Puppy loved the water streams. It's not overly crowded like scenca Creek state park would be.

Part of a beautiful set of trails right here in Germantown. Various paved and unpaved trails weave through the woods and by the lake, making for a beautiful view. There are benches throughout to enjoy the lake. There are always people on the trails, but it is never crowded. Paved trails weave throughout the Churchill community an the way to Black Hills Regional Park. Easily one of my favorite dog walking locations in the area!
My kids love this place. They get to run around and always meet new friends everytime they come here.
A small but nice parking area at the trailhead to a wonderful meandering trail that goes through the woods all the way to Damascus. I found this interesting stick with a knot that someone left on the trail.
What a great nature walk! This is one of our favorites! The tree cover is great on very hot or sunny days, my 3 year old LOVES the little side paths where he gets to pick the direction, and it's never too hard for the kids to do. This is our go-to local nature walk!
Very nice park lots to do there!

Like this place
We love it there. We discovered it after going to the Splash Park. It's very clean, plenty of trees to keep some shade, great place for little ones learning to ride their bikes. Has public restrooms ^_^, and I have never seen the parking lot full or too many kids/parents there. I have even seen the local daycare going there as a "field trip" day.

Great trail for hiking and biking. Went on a cool Sunday morning hike from white loop to Blue loop for about 6 miles. It was not too busy at 8 am went we reached the trailhead. About 6 cars all with bike hitches. We were alone for a good portion of the whiteloop until we got closer to the creek. By about 10 we had seen a trail runner and about 3-4 couples on bikes (6 -7 people). Once we reached the blue trail and about to head back to the parking lot there was a GAGGLE of bikers nearly 15 of them. All of them very nice. My wife and I were slow hikers so we yielded to them when we saw them. None of them were going at absurd speeds and were very nice to greet us. We made it back to the parking lot by noon and the parking lot still had a bout 5 spaces open, it wasnt too busy on the trail since the day before was 70's and sunny while today was more lower 50s and high 40s. There were some storms the day before however and there were 2 times we had to jump the small creek. One was too wide to make in a single jump so we took off our shoes and wadded over in 1-2 inches of cool water. We did see bikers riding over them without an issue, poor hikers. The fields were amazing and we want to return in the fall as the leaves change.

Wonderful park with an enchanting network of trails and benches favoring forest and stream front views. This is a gem of a park and presents an excellent opportunity to relax in nature without being too far from town.
Still one of the better trails just outside of DC. Seems like trail maintenance is just that... maintenance. Not a lot of feature building or new stuff. But these trails are still wicked fast. Great place to crank out some calories or bring along your newbie friend who needs options.
Ok place to take kids
Good convenient area, close to shopping, Starbucks, gas stations, and very comfortable!😎
The park is beautiful and they were planting more trees. Good place to relax in the evening.
