Had a grand afternoon in this fantastic park. Love the Chinese aspects, the pagoda. The bridge and the fountain/water feature. We all threw money at the washing well bell and made a wish. We saw some of the grey squirrels too. A fun half hour on the water in a dragon pedal boat topped it off. If you're in Scarborough, it's definitely worth a visit.

A beautiful garden that I'm told has been restored and maintained by volunteers since the local council has abandoned it. In fact, the council doesn't seem to care about anything in the town, save trousering the tax.
There's only one toilet in the vicinity, and it appears that it's exactly as it was in the Victorian era.
A lovely valley walk with little boating lake at the base. Very pretty, easy to navigate around. Some hills in the back section of the valley which makes wheelchair use a little more challenging, but you can navigate around without the use of steps, and can cut the walk short and remain on the lower part of the park very comfortably.

The main island is not accessible by wheelchair users. To access the bridge to the island you need to climb 2 steps.

We loved the Scarborough Fair Illumination installation they had - first year 2023! Beautiful.

Great in all seasons. Lots of squirrels! 🐿️

Even on a cold a windy November day, stunning views. And 'ground under repair'. No bother. Toilets nearby too.

A lovely place to walk around and have squirrels, ducks and geese following you round just incase you have food.
Plenty of different walks and interesting things to see.
Parking is in a PAY & DISPLAY car park opposite the park entrance and the car park has PAY TO USE toilets.
On our weekday visit in October none of the facilities where open (peddle boats, cafe and island walk).

We visited 3 times and not for good reasons. My daughter was desperate to visit the Japanese garden on the island, she’s autistic and loves anything Japanese. The website is very vague. We live two hours away and was in the area on holiday, so I thought it was a perfect time to go and visit. The first time we tried to visit there was an event on and the island was closed. We saw no notices or times of when the island would be closed. The second time we visited it was 5 in the afternoon and the island was closed. We noticed it had opening times are between 10 am and 4 pm the sign saying this was hidden behind a closed gate. The third time we visited. We were successful and managed to get onto the island. When we reached the top of the hill the garden wasn’t quite what we expected and wasn’t very well maintained even though my daughter absolutely loved it.
A wonderful park based on the willow pattern on plats cups etc. Japanese garden and bridges, with pagodas etc. Very nice cafe with seating inside and outside with friendly staff. Great food and drinks. Boat hire. Rowing and dragon pedlows. They have special boat battles on at different times of the year. Lots of dog walking with plenty of wast bins. Lots of birds to spot plenty of seating around the park. A real must see place.

Love this place. I have such fond childhood memories, and I'm so glad that 30 years later it's still as beautiful, if not more so.

The walk around the park is lovely, with the Japanese inspired decor. I highly recommend visiting the Naval Warfare display, it's absolutely brilliant for the price and so much fun. The pedalos are a brilliant way to explore the park and island too.

Been coming for years, love it. Shame the tree walk isn't open at night anymore and Where's the flea circus? Couldn't stay for the Naval battle this time but it's a big part of the park.
Very peaceful and full of memories.
Great place to park after 6 . Could do with grass being cut more regular as it is used by dogs.

Old fashioned park with a boating lake, cafe and very friendly staff. We went to see the sea battle re-enactment which was fun however it did rain heavily- but the show continued! Our dog was allowed to attend although there were some pretty large bangs. There is some very nice music from about 2:30pm which kept us entertained until the battle started at 3pm and lasted about 40 minutes. The commentary helped us understand what was going on! Cost £4.50 for an adult ticket.

We were in a bit of a rush. But we entered the park for a quick in and out. It wasn't to be so! This park is simply amazing! We spent sometime boating. We had 30 mins but cos we had a train to catch we finished it in a rapid fast pedal 10 mins ☹️ We had a quick visit to the water falls. The place looked stunning and we so wish we had more time. Definitely coming back again!

Not so much a park as gardens really. But, it's a pleasant walk not too far from the beach. The shade is very welcome on a hot day.

So peaceful and beautifully maintained as is the rose garden nearby. Lovely walk down the cliffs to reach it and then down to the seafront. Get the lift back up to the top. I managed it fairly well and I have arthritis in my knees but ok with my stick.

Awesome park with cool trails & good views.
Lots of walking up/down the hill which is probably why it's a quiet place.

A nice little garden to walk around. Toilets situated next to the putting green. These are one of the only free toilets before the front so use them if you can. Free parking down the street opposite too (holbeck road). We’ve always found a space.
Nothing there apart from a tiny pond with the fairy garden! It’s basically just a lawn with some benches round the edge. Needs a gardener to sort it out as rather unkempt. The only good point is that it’s nice & quiet!.
Stone Sun dial, football area, swings of all sorts, climbing ropes, lots of trees, free little library and the only stone table tennis place in a whole Scarborough! My family have not seen so many attractions in one park in Scarborough for a long time. I must add that Falsgrave Park is very well kept. It is clean, well lit, lawns are freshly mawn and there are young trees recently planted. Wow!! That is officially the best looking park in Scarborough! Well done!

Quarry Mount Park is one of Scarborough Council's parks & gardens. Created 2003/04 from what had been a clay quarry for a nearby brickworks & is a natural wetland area. It's accessed from Asquith Ave., off Seamer Rd. My first visit early this morning was a pleasant surprise.
Amazing spot...

Read about this place online a few years ago and it really does live up to its reputation. Just a fantastic and unique little park. An unforgettable little corner of Scarborough that is so well kept and looked after. An absolute hidden gem of a little area. Please visit if you are ever in the area
Very tranquil little garden. Good for a picnic. If a little unkempt. 8/10
That said free to visit.

A true dog walkers park. Great place to let your dogs run around and mix with like minded people and their dogs. But be warned, there is the ODD one or two, that no matter what you do, it will be wrong and they will tell you. Obviously, they have a dog for all the wrong reasons.
Erm it is nice, a little smaller than I thought but if you have 10min to spare, lovely

A new community building, 'Beeforth's Hive', is taking shape in the £7m restoration of Scarborough's South Cliff Gardens project. Named after George Lord Beeforth who had created the rose garden here in 1883, with 14,000 rose bushes, sheltered from the sea with conifers.
The miniature village reminds me of happy times in my youth imagining the faeries and smallfolk that lived there. Unfortunately there are now plastic faeries inhabiting the miniature village which are slightly tacky and unnecessary. However, the garden remains a source of delight and tranquility. A welcome escape from the busy Esplanade. A place to chill, relax and enjoy the ornamental borders.

Great little park for little ones. Football area needs a revamp desperately and it is looking tired in areas. Such a great space that's clearly loved by the community, could do with a bit of an investment though.

A well kept garden and small pond. Plenty of benches.theres a little wooden shelter . Lots of flower beds which are kept neat by the southcliffe volunteers group. All in all a peaceful place to sit awhile. Note....dogs are not allowed.
Lovely peaceful place to sit. Only thing we would say is that you cannot take dogs in. Surely the kind of people who would use these gardens would be the ones who clean up after their pets. Understandably it is not a place to let dogs off lead.

Lovely park with a children's playground. Dogs allowed. Usually there are events happening throughout the year. Steep to walk to the top. A few seats are placed throughout but in good weather there is grass where you can place a blanket.

It's a decent place to walk the dog, flat field for throwing toys or children's games. The park is litter picked by the local community and friends group.
Swings and slides for younger children and it's one access point to the cinder track walk to Whitby.

Lovely place to walk the dogs. There are lots of grassed areas for ball throwing and some lovely trees to admire. There is a small amount of seating through the park. There is a stream runs through Woodlands Ravine and many dogs play in it, however I have had dogs come down with tummy upsets if they drink the water when the stream is in flood.

This is a pleasant area to escape to. Benches are available to sit and enjoy the garden, the birds and the squirrels which are so tame they will take nuts out of your hand. The Esplanade is the perfect place for viewing the entire Scarborough South Bay as well as the castle ruins.
