This place was pretty, but we could not visit most of it due to flooding. I would visit again if we are ever in the area.
Open view of Lake Myakka 👁

✅️ Wide open view of the area🌿
✅️ Perfect place to watch and photgraph birds🦆
✅️ Long boardwalk with bird poster information🪧
✅️ Quiet & peaceful 🌟

🔸️If you look closely on the side of the boardwalk, you may spot some eggshells🥚

❌️ No restrooms available in this stop
Beach is beautiful but there is no public parking. This access is for the people that live around there.
The beach is nice but no public parking there. This is for people that live in the area.
Absolutely incredible place! Saw many birds and alligators! We were very excited!
Great work out on the steps up leading to 79' above ground. Well worth the climb....awesome vista view. Feeling it in the calves the next day...but that's me. 😉

Wonderful, small park. Very well maintained, great atmosphere for quiet walk. Fine place to dog walk, and possibly meet some of the locals that walk here. Nice lake, with very limited access, but great viewing area.
Mix of open sun and shaded trail - people
Walking their dogs, riding bikes, kids playground. They have multiple trash cans, restrooms that are actually clean. Lots of picnic tables (no grills). Dog poop bags available. Well maintained. Few different entrances with parking lots. Nestled in the middle of nice neighborhoods. The actual park trail is very short but you can connect with neighborhood sidewalk to make it longer 3 mile + walk. There is a lake and they have canoes (not sure if they can be used or not). Saw birds, turtles.

Absolutely wonderful. We are so lucky to live in a city that offers many wonderful outdoor spaces! Bird key park is no exception.

The views are incredible! Even from your parked car overlooking the water, you can enjoy a beautiful scene. Walk on the paved sidewalk under the bridge and you’ll find people fishing and relaxing. There are many benches and places to sit and a few picnic tables if you want to have a bite to eat by the water. Walk a bit more (under and around the bridge) and you’ll be at a little beach with seating. Our pup LOVES to play fetch there. Every dog he’s encountered has been friendly and playful. We’ve only had friendly and kind people sharing the space there as well. There are pet waste bags too, in case you forget, and usually a few tennis balls to throw for the pups!

Note: parking during busy season and on weekends (except summer) can be a challenge. We sometimes have to wait 5-20 min for someone to leave so we can get a spot. It’s typically closer to 5 min but can be disappointing when we can’t find a place to park. Popular time is sunset for sure, so if you want to guarantee a spot, give yourself extra time in case it’s crowded.
Great parking spot! Found a spot around 5pm. Public acess 13 is closer to point of rocks. 12 is approximately 300 yards away.
This state park is always beautiful to visit. Nice volunteers. And they have geocaching! If you don't know what it is google it. You won't be disappointed!

This park is very unique. The surrounding beauty is truly incredible. This is especially true at certain times of the day/night, and combined with ideal weather conditions. But its uniqueness shines in the vibe it gives off, which is always different and tends to emulate what is going on in Sarasota in general… You just have to go to see what I’m talking about.
Beautiful land and surroundings that feel like you are thousands of miles from civilization. This is what Florida used to be. See this amazing place and all of it's magical creatures. Time and nature are preserved here. Respect it and the creatures that call this place their home.
Truly wonderful for your heart and soul.

Bird Key Park is a great place to launch kayaks. They have a kayak launch, but honestly it's just as easy to launch several other places. Water is shallow and calm.
We love this park! I've been going for 20 years and love it every time. Drive through park with tons of animals and trails to hike. We recently brought our golf cart along and had an even better time! Staff is very friendly! The park is very clean and well kept. Bathrooms are nice and clean. The camping sites are usually busy with lots of nice people! Bike rides are a popular activity out there. There's alligators all over out there, super cool! Try the Skywalk it's a staple in our town, everyone's gone and done that. March is the best time to see the gators they migrate there for mating season to myakka deep hole. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys national parks or is looking for something to do for a family day.

Beautiful park on the waterfront. It is an excellent place for a spectacular sunset. Don't tell anyone!
Nice place to relax, bike friendly, the main road is about 7 miles one way, plenty of restroom, the canopy walk has an excellent 360 degree view, the top is at iver 70 feet above ground.
We were lucky enough to catch the most spectacular sunset! We kept trying to leave, looking back in awe. It was just gorgeous! There were plenty of birds and alligators enjoying it as well.
There is a cafe, food truck, little store, and a boat trip you can take. We were too late for all but definitely will come back.
The restrooms are close by and are clean. There is a picnic area and we saw plenty of families enjoying themselves.
Such a peaceful place to visit. We didn’t see as many birds as usual but it was still an enjoyable experience. The weather was perfect, there was plenty of parking and sunshine.
The path was lined with the prettiest little purple flowers and there is a large tree at the beginning which is a perfect setting for photos.
Incredible park with a lot of trails
Bring your binoculars for supberb viewing from the banks of Myakka Lake. There is a coin operated telescope (quarter). Bulletin board helps to identify the various indigenous birds.
Nice boardwalk for bird watching and gator watching. This is a popular spot on the weekend so get there early. Limited parking. Short walk to the boardwalk from the parking area.
Very neat and beautiful area! Climbing up the tower was a lot of work, being out of shape but well worth it. The canopy walk was fun too!

Visited in January 2024, very busy. Beautiful and peaceful, however, was disappointed with the services they advertise, but no longer offer. The website offers tandem bike rentals, but I was told they stopped renting those several years ago. The boat was not in service on a Saturday. If you're interested in using the park services, I highly suggest calling first to make sure it's available. Or visit the Crowley Museum, which is just a few minutes from the North entrance.
Quite the beautiful nature reserve lots to see and do rustic trails and lots of gators
I'm always enjoyed the park. I've been coming here for over 20 years. Never gets old and your tired of it. Love the interaction with nature
Myakka never disappoints. We have camped here, but we came for a day trip, since we had to cancel our camping trip. I love the canopy trail, but there is so much to see in the way of birds and other wildlife. The boats weren't going out due to the high wind and chop, but plenty of people were enjoying the perfect sunny weather.
Great place to Kayak. You will see gators everywhere. We went west from the Visitor center launch(south end of the lake) and down the river somewhat past the power line. 4 hours in and out. Water current is slow but wind is a factor. No bug problem. Lots of wildlife. $6 car to get into the park, so worth it!

Nice park located between the Hyatt and Van Wezel. Small playground, nice walking trails (for dogs too), and chairs with a great view of Sarasota Bay. They have the nicest restrooms for a park, I’ve ever seen. There is a small walk-up concession window, with basic drinks and food. They have free concerts, free outdoor movie nights, free kayak tours, and free workouts as well. Best to park at the Van Wezel. There is parking on the Blvd. of the Arts, which is much closer, but space is limited and usually full.

Wonderful new park a five minute walk from town center with a small cafe and an outdoor big screen TV. Arena, lawn and table seating. Football game is on now. Movies in the evening. Oppenheimer is playing this week so the movies are newer releases. There are often live bands during the day.
Nice trails and boardwalks for a 30/40 minute walk. Kayaks available for rental. Playground and very clean rest rooms.
Highly recommended.

Love this park . Nice views. Great place for dogs
This so called resort is over-priced, doesn't provide any resort like service. It doesn't provide beach chairs, you have to rent it. No room service either. All, we got was two towels as a part of room service. On the top, they charge you $40 resort fee.
If you are used to resorts in Cancun, Punta Cana etc., this resort will surely disappoint you!

This is one of the places where you are misguided by so many good reviews!! I will never visit this place again.
This place offers excellent wade fishing, kayak, and canoe launches. We actually love walking our Frenchies there. As well, may I suggest seeking snorkeling reef maps.
It's beautiful at Myakka State Park. Every area of the park is a different experience. The observation tower and bird walk are very relaxing. As you walk over, the preserve. And observe the birds in their natural habitat.
The deer are my favorite. Especially at dusk, in the summer. That's when they come out as the Sun is setting. Mama Doe takes the kids out for dinner. In May, at Myakka State Park, the coreopis bloom. The river and The Preserves light up with color. Every year, they come back a little different color . This year, the bloom wasn't as beautiful as usual . Because of the severe drought here in Florida.
Myakka State Park is beautiful at any time of the year. Especially after the drought. As the foliage dries out, it creates so much color and contrast in the forest and along the waterways. Of the Myakka River It's worth a ride from any part of the state. I am fortunate to be centrally located and surrounded by so many beautiful places, such as the Myakka State Park. SafeTravels 🏞
And also great Campground🏕
Very nice park, lots of wildlife. The most alligators I've seen of the several times I've been to Florida. Boats were not running because of the drought and the lakes and ponds were very low. The canopy walkway was disappointing because I thought it was higher up and longer but still an interesting thing, mostly fun for kids, but the tower was pretty tall and you could see for a long distance.
The preserve itself is great. There are maybe three spots to park next to directly in front of the gate but that not the reason for one star. The reason for one star is because this entrance is plagued by inconsiderate morons that park on the shoulder of Gypsy St and treat the whole road like it’s a parking lot. They either open their door without looking or wander around the middle of the road to their car like they’re at Publix. Zero urgency or consideration that they’re on a decently busy street. I have straight up seen people having conversations in the middle of the road. In what other context would this be normal? Thankfully they put up those little orange sticks very recently to keep people off but I doubt that will stop these inconsiderate windowlickers. Otherwise outstanding nature preserve!
Bring your binoculars! The birds at this boardwalk are amazing. Easy walk. Early mornings are best.

Just a 15 minute drive from home, this is always a great place to come to enjoy nature, the outdoors or just to have a picnic with your family.
Boat tour was unavailable due to low water levels however the tram tour was and was awesome! Tony, our guide, was knowledgeable about the animals and the history of the park. It was a bumpy ride but the views and wildlife more than made up for it

This is a beautiful park with an easy walk loop trail. Some of it is paved some is packed shell, I think. It is very well maintained. The path is 8 feet wide allowing for easy passing should you be riding a bike or people are walking multiple dogs. The trail also has exercise stations along the way, including things for kids to do as well. A couple of little bridges, a small playground, 2 covered pavilions for parties and the lake with a viewing station. That about sums up the Conservatory on paper. The devil is in the details though. The 10-acre lake is sparkling with dozens of turtles, birds, fish, and alligators, including little baby gators. The pier on the lake is right by the mail entrance and has two picnic benches and is large enough to handle different groups of people without crowding there is also a water spigot with bowls for thirsty dogs. It is quiet and peaceful and a great place to sit and ponder.
The larger of the two covered pavilions is just a little further down the path connected with a view of the playground and play area. There are bathrooms and water fountains here as well. Another doggy water fountain is also here as well as poop bags and garbage. The path itself winds through part of a 55-acre nature preserve with a second entrance about connected. Because it is heavily wooded you can't see the parking from the trails, people's voices are muted and so it seems much less crowded than it really is I think. All of the people we met were friendly, considerate and the dogs were all on leashes and well behaved. It is not a long path but looping around isn't redundant as it is teaming with birds and other wildlife and my dog at least thinks it smells amazing. He loves it there. My grandson loves the pier and th exercise stations. I love the peace here. A hidden gem for sure.

What a beautiful park to take a stroll in especially when the weather is just right. It was 75 degrees this morning and it felt awesome! I love the views of the water and the sound of the waves. Beautiful scenery. There are dog stations, even water fountains for your dog, and benches to sit on.

Great trail, safe-no cars! Lots of wildlife to enjoy from butterflies to tortoises.
A wonderful experience. This park has a bit of everything. Playground, a little piece of beach, books and spaces to read, a small field to play soccer or fly a kite. You can also go kayaking, have a small snack or watch one of the movies that are shown in its small auditorium. We love it 💕

So pretty! It is really a small park but nature is amazing. Wildlife noise is so relaxing . The place is close to houses but when you are there walking you feel out of the city. Short walk loop with gym equipment so you can have the experience to exercise in nature. We saw baby gators in the lake. They open on sunrise and close on sunsets .
Great for dog walks.
Parking is almost impossible to get and if you are lucky enough you better stay all day and know how to manouver your car in small spaces. No restrooms close and no showers to spray off sand. Beautiful beach though
Hands down one of my pup's fav parks. The roundabout is small but offers side attractions such as workout stations and adorable pop-up information about the native plants and wildlife.

This is a great spot to access the beach near the point of rocks. Mainly from walking or biking etc as there is zero parking for cars and no parking on the streets since it's really a residential area and signs everywhere that it's prohibited. .It's a great spot though. I highly recommend using it !!!

Nice small park with a great Amish presence, the park could use a cleanup
Only locals should be using this back side.
What a great location for pickleball courts. Thankyou to the county for putting them in.
Giving this map location one star because despite how the name sounds, this is not a parking area. If you have a car, you need to go to the main parking lot off of Beneva Road. The preserve is great though.

The Bay Park project. Very nice walkway. Concession stand for lunch and breakfast. Kayak rentals. Beach with chairs. Playground. Nice restrooms. Digital display showing upcoming events. Mangrove walking paths. Bench swing. Path walkway to Van Wezel building. Currently showing March Madness on the big screen! They have been reducing parking spots which makes it difficult to find parking.

My family and I are incredibly grateful to have this beautiful park available to the public. There are indoor buildings where you can view art, venture into the welcome center, the manipal auditorium, and the library. Outside, you can explore the butterfly garden, the shaded pathways and bridges, and make your way to the kayak launch. Beyond that is an open field with a stage where live bands come to play. There is a cute children's playground and sitting areas by the water. This park is dog friendly (leashed) and very family friendly. Just make sure you clean up after your pets and leave the park the way you found it. ✌️ There are garbage and recycling bins located throughout the park and water fountains for people and pets.

The fishing spot was decent under the bridge, we caught 4 small fish but some people caught slightly bigger fish.
We brought our dog and could hang out by the palm trees and hammock. We also went in the water but it was higher tide than most of the pictures on Maps, and there were more waves and rocks than i thought.
It does get crowded as all great places do. Nut an awesome place

Some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world and much more private than the main Siesta Key Beach. Below are some of the stunning sunsets we have captured during our stays and cannot wait to be back.

Nice park, small but peaceful. Came earlier in the morning, some people living out of their car and a couple of nefarious people hanging out but otherwise a nice walk. Saw some lovely folks as well. Mixed ‘crowd’. Captured some wildlife photos. Not sure if it warrants a trip back but nice to check off my list. I didn’t walk too far on the trails but there was a decent amount, they seem pretty clear.

Legacy Trail, as of July 2021, extends to Bahia Vista. It's going to be interesting to see the backyards as they clean up now that they're open to public viewing.
The beach is a lot smaller this end of the Key. A nice beach but the ocean front hotels cordon off very large areas of the beach exclusively for their guest. Typical only 1/4 of the chairs an umbrellas they set up were even used! What a waste! We were forced to find spots in between their markers. Our hotel was just off the beach, just a short walk down point of rocks road. Siesta Key Inn - a fantastic place to stay! We would most definitely stay here again but would venture down to Crescent of Siesta beaches a little more.
Loved this place. Right in the middle of the Amish community. This place is perfect for meditation. Get a nice sandwich at the Amish Deli and enjoy a great picnic. Then walk around, enjoy the beauty and end the day with an awesome freshly made ice cream. Beautiful place.

Wonderful trail, very bike friendly area, I plan to move here. Recommended
Love this park... Away from the hustle and bustle... Quiet... Up to date... Clean... All equipment up to date... And enough play equipment to keep my kids happy. Great shade and seating as well!
Parking here is both a treat and a frustration. It’s the southern most public parking on Siesta Key. You have a short 1/3 mile walk to Point of Rocks, and it’s a fun spot on the beach to explore. But waiting for spots can test your patience. Sometimes you wait 5-10 minutes. Other times you’ll wait 30+ for a spot. Overall, I think it’s worth the wait.
Very tight parking. Get here early if you want a spot. Being that there are only a few parking spots the beach doesn't get too busy. We definitely like being down here more then up north at the main beach. We stayed in a condo up the street so wished there were more beach accesses in between. Overall loved this beach and this access was good.

This is a beautiful, tranquil, peaceful place to walk quietly around. It's not huge and it doesn't take long to walk around, but I go super slowly and tiptoe sometimes in case there's an owl! We have seen barred owls here and they're adorable. Also Cardinals, blue grey gnatcatchers and tufted titmice. It's lovely. There is a restroom outside here too. ❤️

Cool park not that big but it does have a volley ball net and basketball court. There's als a small trail towards the back part of park where you park at takes you mabe 20 minutes to walk the trail very calm and relaxing good meditation spot
