Nice park. Beautiful. We love going there. But some of the geese are jerks lol. We fed them and they pecked at my boy. "No more bread for you!" Jk.

The trails are fairly chill but really fun for mountain biking. Unfortunately, there is not much shade so I would recommend riding early in the morning when it is still cool. It isn't supper busy but you do need to be aware of hikers. Visibility is pretty good, so I would not say you need a cowbell but just beware.

Christmas Tree 🎄 recycling through Jan. 7! $5 donation goes to KTMB.

2 separate large fenced in grassy areas with trees, small brushy areas, a few benches. 1 side of park for large dogs & 1 for small dogs. Nice dogs & nice responsible owners. Great view.

Solid dog park with a wonderful off leash area. My guy isn't quite ready for that but enjoys the long up and down path surrounding the park. My toddler age son loves the playground as well. Staff is super friendly and seems to stop and say hello to canine companions when appropriate 👍👍

Great place for events or even a picnic if you're looking for a not too crowded place on the west side of Reno!

I don't believe there is a playground at this place and the restrooms are just the porta potties and it it is definitely a gamble whether or not it is going to be clean or not last time I was there they were filthy also this park doesn't have a drinking fountain anywhere. I'm still giving it a four star review however because it is a beautiful park it has a nice trail and a a huge open area where people love to bring their dogs. They have grill's for BBQ and picnic tables in the shade so that is why I'm giving it a four-star it would be five if they had better restrooms and drinking fountains

This park is beautiful and we love to bring the kids here for a lovely afternoon! The rose garden has many varieties and is a nice romantic walk, and the river and trees of course are gorgeous.

This is a great park with "zip lines" and a good amount of height to climb around on. Plus, they've got a pool and a skate park and gooses. Yes, gooses.

Large, beautiful and scenic park with plenty to see and do; it also has walking/hiking paths, picnic tables and bbq area.

We had the opportunity to visit Rancho San Rafael regional park on the Great reno balloon race day. The early morning show was spectacular and we would love to visit again. We also visited Wilbur May museum nearby unexpectedly and we get to experience various regional cultures.

The park is beautiful....but the dog area is AWFUL. it's huge but not a tree insight or a place to sit....some sort of a cesspool that I would freak out if my dogs went near it. Only stayed for a few minutes...I'll never go to that dog park again

Beautiful meadows, plenty of birds, and a pasture with cows, and their calves.

Had the grandkids Birthday Party here. Weather wasn't great but everyone had a blast and some of the kids still played in the water. Great venue for this type of event and affordable.

We visited this park today for the 2023 Reno Balloon races !! We had so much fun last year we have invited our whole family this year to come and participate on the beautiful amazing scenery . Thank you for hosting and would love to come back and visit this beautiful park when event is not taking place !

Mayberry is the launching point for our day of tubing.
We do Mayberry to Wingfield and its always a blast!
Make sure get out to the left of the dam and walk the little trail to get back in after it.

Sunday’s Farmer’s Market is a place to meet friends, take a stroll with the family and learn about local artisan’s creations. Look out for local musicians making the wander really pleasant.
The walk was wonderful. It was a beautiful day and the shade from the trees cut the heat to a minimum.
Fresh food, honey and so much more.
I was captivated by Rossi Bakes. Snack and lunch sized allergen-free treats. If I only had a cooler, I would have been able to transport more flavours home.
Stop by and see Rossi Bakes.

Several slides and plenty of games for kids. Clean park well maintained. Restroom available. Lake with 3 fontaines across the street, trail for walk and bicycle. Small wild life to show to kids: squirrels, pigeons, ducks, gooses. Speed limit is 15 mph for safely cross between the playground and the lake. Handicap parking.

This is where we exited our tubing adventure that started at Mulberry Park. It took about 2.5 hours. There was a small, crowded parking lot where we parked our cars. I believe there was a sign posted stating 2 hour max parking.

North Valleys Water Splash Park in Reno is a fantastic spot for families and friends to cool off and have fun. The park's innovative water features cater to kids of all ages, ensuring hours of endless entertainment. Plus, the surrounding amenities and green spaces are perfect for picnics and relaxation. A must-visit destination for a delightful summer day in Reno!

Great park, fun things to do, see and eat especially on Friday evenings! I've been going to this park for over 10 years and I'm never disappointed. The one thing it needed was an updated playground which was completed over a year ago and what a great playground it is! Between being right on the truckee River, the original playground accompanied by the train, beautiful gardens, a pond with fountains in the center, nice pathways for walking or bicycling, decent bathrooms (most of the time, large covered picnic areas, playing fields, swimming pools (during the summer) and indoor facilities you can rent for events, etc. This park has it all! What is even better is its walking distance from our home and I just love the walk along the river to get here! Sadly, we are moving back to CA and I'm going to miss this park and all the wonderful memories. I remember the first time I discovered this park while out walking my dog just after I'd moved to Reno and when I walked to the park with my daughter in her jogger just after she was born and we still do just not in the jogger anymore!! She experienced many things for the first time in this park like her first Easter egg hunt, her first train ride, building her first sand castle, her very first swimming lessons and her first time riding a bike! I remember when she was a baby and the first food truck fridays we attended at Idlewild when there were maybe 10 or so food trucks at most but we loved it and have been coming back every summer since. We come here all year round and have had a few snow ball fights, built a few snow people and made snow angels here in the winter. During covid when we couldn't go anywhere we walked here and along the river through the park almost daily! This is a really wonderful park for all to enjoy and I'm really really going to miss it! If you haven't been here then you're missing one of the best parks in Reno or anywhere for that matter!

A lovely park by the river in Reno. Easy access and good parking make this location a delight to visit.
The park is dog friendly, they must be on a leash, with plenty of places to walk, sit or feed the ducks and geese. We felt very safe here and enjoy our many visits.

My family and I had the opportunity to experience the Dragon Lights 2023, which was absolutely amazing for everyone to walk through! San Rafael Park has always had the space and proper flow for this event to be placed. It's was so magical for us, and the kids had a great time with all the props displayed. Hoping this event does not change its location as this was a perfect set-up ❤️.

Great view from the south side of Reno!

This place is so cute. My toddler and my friends kids ranging from 1 to 12 all had fun. It's a good price for hours of fun and they have a little snack bar that you can take a break and have a snack or ice cream. I'll definitely frequent there this summer.

This is such a beautiful picture and I had to share it with you. Pay attention while you are on one of your adventures along the Truckee River.

This place is always a hit on hot summer days. I love that you can bring your own shade, and there's grass to set it up on. Last year, we even booked a few tables for our daughter's birthday party. Just know the hours change as soon as school starts because it is operated mostly by high school students.

Rancho San Rafael is an amazing place to take a small nature walk, let the dogs free in the dog park, and take the kiddos to play at the park. I am still exploring all Rancho has to offer. Lets not forget the events they host throughout the year such as The Dragon Lights, and The Hot Air Balloon Races just to name a few.

Nestled a mere stone's throw from town, Mayberry Park is a serene oasis that belies its proximity to urban life. The river access is nothing short of spectacular, offering unparalleled vistas of the sparkling Truckee River, which seems to flow with tales of time and nature. Meandering trails beckon visitors for leisurely walks, with or without a canine companion, transporting them through the undisturbed beauty of nature. Every visit feels like a fantastic escape to a remote haven, despite the park's convenient location. If you're seeking a place that feels a million miles away but is just down the road, Mayberry Park is the spot. Highly recommended for those who cherish nature's splendor.

River rafting and float season has begun! I've been floating the Truckee River for +20 years and this is my all time favorite place to launch our rafts. If there was any complaint, it would be the lack of parking but there's plenty on the street. The key is to arrive early. It's a great park to chill at while blowing up your rafts and the grass is well kept. What I love about launching our rafts here is because it's shallow enough and easy to get in your raft/tube. On other parts of the river, you might have to trek a little and sometimes it can be steep and not safe. Whereas here at Mayberry, it's flat and more safe, especially for kids. Where we get out of the river is downtown Reno at Wingfield park. On average it's about a 2 hour float. I've never had a problem with theft in all my years here, but as a reminder don't forget to lock your car. Happy summer and be safe!
Overall it's just a nice park to have a picnic, walk your dog, take River walks, throw frisbee or a football, etc.. As for bathrooms, there isn't a public restroom but there is a porta potty.

The gem of Reno in my opinion! A great place to gather and picnic, sunbathe on the rocks, or enjoy the incredibly cool (manmade) Truckee River Water/Kayaking Park. Lots of fun art and statues all throughout as well!

Brantley Ranch Regional Park is a great park in central Reno with a few beautiful trails with stunning scenery and features. The flume trail which is partially a wooden covered aqueduct was a great trail and the views of the valley below and open pasture which is part of the park was fantastic at sunset.

Idlewild Park is beautiful. There are walking trails and so many wonderful spots for pictures.
The events at the park are always well thought out and prepared, like the summer Farmers Market. Do go and enjoy the outdoors!

One of my favorite parks! Growing up here & visiting when I come back in town is one of my highlights! Bonus this year with dragon lights going on. You won’t be disappointed when you come here!!

Food truck Friday is always a good time. The park is nice. They have Port of pottys. This year there doesn't seem to be as many trucks but we all enjoyed our food. We had crepes, shrimp skewers, lemonade, hot chicken, tappanaki.

Pretty decent park, with a nice grass area & public grills, good place to go when you want to go to a park, & not be around a bunch of others, they need to fix a few features, but other than that my 8yo son loved it

I was there the day of the river festival, 100+ vendors, tons of food and drink options. Beautiful 75 degree June day. The have a Kayak course and the riverwalk has restaurants and shops on both sides. Plenty of trees and shade which is nice so it's not straight sun. Grassy areas and lots of boulders to just sit along the Truckee river. Walkways could and should be a bit wider, gets crowded and between bikes, dogs, strollers and walkers it's pretty congested.

Our group had a baby shower there, and it was so much fun. We were way at the west end and just after we were done it poured rain. Best time ever. Great facilities! Plenty of save, parking is close!

Right in Downtown Reno, the beautiful Truckee River surrounds you. Swimming, tubing, fishing and at times making love.

Best dog park I've ever seen. Beautiful large grassy park for the kids to play or feed ducks. Awesome walk thru the gardens and old Great Basin Adventure park, which is now a beautiful hike, especially in the spring when it's all in bloom.

You just gotta Love Winfield Park!! over the past 27 years I have witnesses one improvement after another take place there.
Having talked with many born & bred Reno-ites Winfield Park was mainly Tules, a place for down & outers, lots of weeds and a good place to find oneself in one type of trouble or another in the 1950 thru the1960's!
So it was in the late 50's up to the mid 80's. Standing back & taking a look, the place did have potential!?... For what tho? Gotta take a break... back to finish later.
It is now, Later!
On June 1st, I walked the southside of the park. At about 3 blocks away I encountered parked autos with enough bumper stickers, travel ID stickers & handwritten Bravado & cheer in grease pencil to figure out, " Something's going on here!" And it was...
The Reno Aurora run in its 18th year(or was it 17 yrs?) of Attendance & Support was happening at 8:30 when I passed thru. Since I know only a little about this event & I would guess, Non-profit enterprise that I'll defer to Google Search if you want to know more.
Got some nice pics of Winfield Park, the Amphitheatre & our swollen
Truckee River, its 2 weeks since my 1st photos! A little more treacherous looking!🌹

The park is a nice tranquil place for a walk or to sit and relax with that special someone. The river is very fast right now but is still nice to watch. I remember riding the train when my uncle was the conductor. The park has been a special place for a long time for family and friends.

Wingfield park has such an amazing vibe. It the best part of downtown Reno. Annually we are part of a festival that takes over the park called Bass Camp. It is a great venue for the event because thousands of people are able to come to the event. The river is beautiful and the kayaking course is well built.

Great bridle trails or hiking. Areas to turn out your horses. Great, great views over entire Washoe Valley . Antique farming implements. Old school house etc!!

With a peak at Mt. Rose behind me this was just what I needed. I visited the area 8 years ago on my first visit to Reno and just like them it didn’t disappoint.
A nice calming view after a long hard day work is what the doctor ordered.

It's a park. No dead bums, so not bad.

I've seen this lake with ice & snow many times over the years but never this much snow covering this much of the lake, boy were gonna have an awesome spring this year

Lovely little walking area. If you have a dog, keep them leashed because ticks are abundant in spring and summer. In winter, the path can get very muddy.

Such a beautiful day for a walk in the snow to rediscover your inner youth

There are plenty of historical artifacts to check out throughout the park. The flume trail was unique experience with good views. All of the trails are stroller friendly, some sections get a little narrow though. There is even a trail connector to the adjacent Anderson park.

Nice, calm area to take a walk and contemplate the universe. I'm sure it's lovely during the spring with more colors in the plant life, but even during the winter with the covering of snow, it's beautiful.

The park is amazing! Lots to do & nothing to do, you're all good. Beautiful sites are everywhere. Not to mention, the Truckee River, whoa! Positivity & good vibes & lots of sunshine!!!

My second visit to Mayberry Park to try the fishing and just enjoy the great weather. The walking trail follows the Truckee River which was paved, flat, and easy to walk. Seem to be a lot of people using it, probably because it was a beautiful day. We didn't catch as many fish as the first time because of other people enjoying the park and river either with their dogs playing in the river and other people who launched a guided rafting experience. Like to try rafting with a guide to see the Truckee River and take in the great views!!

Great Walking/Running park! Paved walkway around lake. Plenty of birds, ducks, geese. Lots of waterfowl. Shade and sun mixed.

Park is maintained very well including the dog park. Best part is the mountains behind the park, great to explore with a breath taking view at the top.

Great view of the city. Nice trails to hike easy to moderate. Check it out at dusk

Nice place. Sometimes the losers that do not want to work hog up tye benches. But for tye most part. Pretty cool and relaxing place. If you're fishing. Just be warned that people with dogs don't care. They'll throw the ball and let their lame dog run right through your area. A lot of cali's ruining it. GO BACK.

If I'm to be honest of all the time I have been to rancho this is the only area/path I have never walked

This is a pretty big park with a par course they also have horseshoes, several small park areas with playground equipment and functional water equipment

A clean fun place to bring your kids during the hot days, staff is friendly, there are covered and non covered areas so bring a beach chair to relax and an umbrella if you would like to block heat if needed.

I like this area, and especially the park is quite nice to visit.

Lots of geese and ducks. There's a water fountain, restroom, pavilion, bbq grills, and a very nice playground.

Hidden Valley Regional Park is a nice place to visit and hike at. There are a few different trail loops in the park. I hiked the Highland Loop trail which is about a 2 mile loop and offers great views of the park and the Reno area. Worth visiting for a short hike.

The soil sank, and the paint peeled off. But the park is nice. See photos. .

Small garden but with a good idea behind - walk the path and concentrate on the feelings, kind of meditation by walking

Beautiful little Park in South Reno. Great for a dog walk, and views of Mount Rose and Slide Mountain. Tucked away in the corporate office area, this respite offers about a quarter mile Loop, of composite walking surface for people and animals. Mighty Auto park benches, and beautiful, Shady trees. Large grassy area in the middle. At the southern corner, a path leaves across a wooden bridge to another walking area and another Park.
A place to bring your pup for a nice walk!
A place to bring your pup for a nice walk!

At night the quiet and peaceful feel and look brings about the tranquillity and peace of mind that helps me find my zen. This provokes thoughts which inspire me, makes me thankful and grateful for life, family, my creator, humanity, this planet, and the infinite universe. What a beautiful lake and the animal and bird life that it attracts. Amazing and awesome this Virginia Lake is to me. Hopefully you'll come and enjoy and have an experience all of your own.

Beautiful views but kinda crowded

I have been coming to this park for years. I have noticed recently more people are letting their dogs off leash, which I understand when no one else is around. Dogs need to stretch but, when someone is approaching with their dog please leash up. I cant tell you how many times people have said to me " don't worry my dog isn't aggressive, only to have them lunge at my little dog..Leash up as you pass or go someplace else..

My doctors office is in the area. So my family takes a picnic lunch over to the park and plays and eats lunch. It's a nice little green space in the middle of the building craziness. My kids enjoy having a space to run and play. It's a great size park. They have 6 or 7 picnic tables. It's very well maintained. Can't hear the highway traffic.

Great place to watch the sunrise and sunset

Great place to see the city and space ships lol

Really beautiful views, Nice walking trails and parks. There are also wild horses around me around. Great exercise.

Nice park. Quiet. Good size. Playground for kids to play at, with large grassy area for picnics. Also provides plenty of benches for relaxing. Lots of foliage provides adequate shade too. With a pavillion for parties and such. I recommend this park for everyone

I learned that a labyrinth is not a maze.

Great place to go and have your lunch or romantic evening with your wife watching the city lights and not have to worry about covid.

Wonderful place for a walk. Had lunch at a picnic table then walked with horse riders into Bartley Ranch park for a 3 mile circuit. The ranger pointed out some of the wildlife too.

Wonderful place to visit the outdoors. I enjoy hiking into the Foothills and enjoying the beautiful views.

A beautiful country path with some wildlife gems. It's all about the simple beauties of life!
Driving by this trail, I feel like it's always empty, but once I started venturing over on foot from the Bartley trails, now I see how many are out each day enjoying this beautiful countryside in central Reno. So pretty, especially this time of year (fall). I've also seen cows, horses, ducks, flocks of geese, and today I saw a brown hawk.

a great picnic area with comfortable tables and wide turf for children to walk around.
no public restrooms.
no public restrooms.

Nice place to relax

I was planning to visit there for a sunset.. but missed it by 5-10 min..still that place was awesome... loved it... just 10 min downtown Reno.. it should be must visit of you are traveling to Reno... don’t miss it.. you will love it..

Pretty little hike within Barley Ranch Regional Park... A trailhead is off the parking lot south of the historic school house. This park actually has a few little historic Reno shout-outs. Boomtown donated some historic house structures and there are some antique wagons, farm equipment, etc. The views from the hike are so pretty and you get to see some wildlife on the nature hike too.

Beautiful colors in the fall help evoke change in the season. Time soon for hot tea & cocoa near the fireplace

It's a very small park at the end of a street which at the back is a path that takes you along the freeway. Kinda seedy. Kinda creepy. Next to section 8 housing. I'm sure that 95% of the people that use that trail are decent folk. It's that 5% that I've seen that makes me wonder.

The park is great for its size. There are $4 entry fees for children and adults, except under two years old and 62 and above have free entries. The location is little far from Central Reno, however, it could be nice get away from the city though still reasonably close to the city. There should have been more places for general people, as there are only few cabanas which could be reserved. Please see some pics more details about rules, fees and general information about the park. For children this is best, however not much for adults though.

Nice sized playground with a smaller and larger playground. Close restrooms and a dog park here as well. Plenty of adult seating. There is a covered picnic area. The grass is clean, well kept, and free of pet litter.

Lots of homeless folks but put on a great BBQ if you contribute something to the "pot". I brought brussel sprouts, they asked me to never come back.

Seems like an entirely different planet if you know where to go. I love hiking in this area. There are a few things to keep in mind like beware of rattle snakes and the occasional sand scorpion. But as the old saying goes, "If you don't want any trouble, don't put yourself in that position to begin with." There are plenty of vistas here including views of downtown Reno from the east side.

The Splash Park is located within North Valleys Regional Park. The park has a LOT of open space as well as both covered and uncovered picnic areas. Splash Park gives kids a place to cool down and scream their hearts out. The rest of the park offers a skate board area, baseball and soccer fields and plenty of wide open spaces to allow little ones (and adults) to run off any excess energy. This is just a fabulous park in the North Valleys area.

Thursday July 13, 2017, my wife and I attended a concert at the outdoor amphitheatre. If they ever have a concert there I would go again. The band that played there was Prince's old band, The Revolution, and they performed magnificently. The seats at the venue are suitable for people of considerable size. The only con about those seats is you may need to bring you a cushion for your tush.

Not a bad little park. It's not in the best neighborhood but that does not mean it's not a good place to bring your kids. It is next to the freeway but it has a sound wall between the two
