Narrow strip of parkland adjoining the Yarra River, close to Melbourne’s CBD. You can walk as far as you feel comfortable and then cross one of the many bridges and return via the other bank walking track. In addition to great views of the skyline there are public barbecues with views of the river.

Would recommend the walk through Queen Victoria Gardens all the way through the Botanical Gardens. Perfect way to enjoy a sunny afternoon. Great views, monuments, history. Queen Victoria Monument pictured.

Beautiful garden in the centre of the city. Just go there for a walk.. sit peaceful n enjoy nature. If you want to read a book n sleep for some time this is ideal.. not much crowded.. don’t throw any waste as it very well maintained. No need to carry water as the the public drinking water facility here is so clean n i drank litres of water here. Didn’t do any harm.. visit when you are free to spend few hrs..

Quite crowded. Animals are not afraid of humans, so respect them as well. They will let you take photos quietly!

This park offers a wide range of activities for all ages. From hiking trails to picnic areas, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Its the perfect environment that mixes all the right kind of vibes in a cozy surrounding. Garden runs along with the beautiful Yarra river with some splendid restaurants.

And of course the festivities accompany the gardens is quite quit amazing

At Alexandra Gardens for Moomba festival. Hadn't been to Moomba for years and years but wandered around for an hour, checking out rides, food offerings and side-show Alley games. Had coffee (decaf soy latte) and 2 hot jam donuts from Dough Truck, tried from 2 different sellers, lucky tickets (both unlucky) and again tried luck on laughing clowns. They have beaten me since childhood, today was no different. There were so many rides for kids, teenagers and kidults and heaps of different food offerings (tacos, Greek, crepes, fish and chips, dumplings, ice creams etc) and many games of skill (shoot basketball, knock down milk bottles, pick up floating ducks etc) and games of chance (lucky tickets). Was packed but not too overwhelming. Take kids and lots of cash. Great location.
Peaceful and beautiful park near the National Gallery Victoria. Many ducks walk around the nymph lake.

Lovely place to sit and read. There are benches around and lovely gardens. Find a spot in the shade, bring a book and a coffee and you're in for a good time!
Lovely to spot to take photos of the gardens or wildlife.

A place to get away from the hustle & bustle of the Melbourne CBD. Situated just across the river on the picturesque Princes Bridge this park is a haven of peace. You can walk, cycle, run or chill out by the river. There are some beautiful mature trees & well kept gardens where it's hard to believe you are in the centre of a large city.

Beautiful park with stunning views all around. A nice and relaxing place to spend some time. Could hear music performances from the MPavilion, which was a great addition to the walk around the gardens. Loved the water features!

Beautiful rose garden with a variety of different coloured roses. When it blooms, it allows for beautiful photos to be taken at different angles with varying backgrounds such as the city skyline or the Queen Victoria monument
Lush green lawn and mature elm and plane tree make a perfect afternoon

One of the best open spaces in the city! Its inner location to the Melbourne CBD, proximity to the Yarra River and the AAMI Park, make this the predilect place for group gatherings and BBQs.

As regards BBQs, there are plenty electric grills just besides the river, they are free of charge and are shaded by trees.
Well maintained, pretty quiet for so close to CBD. The bulbs are gorgeous this time of year. Cafe outside Arts Centre is close for coffee. MPavilion is getting set up for summer
