While I haven't flown from True North Airways, simply being there by the lake, watching the airplanes come and go, is a delightful experience in itself. The scenic beauty combined with the sight of the aircraft adds a unique charm to the visit.
Used True North Twice, once to one of their Fly in fishing camps and one private charter to Florida for a golf trip. Made the travel so easy and stress free
Had an amazing family fishing trip to Indian Lake with True North Airways late September 2023.
It was a thrill to fly in the iconic Canadian DeHavilland Beaver with our friendly pilot Arnie. Late September treated us to some emerging Fall colours from the air.
Camp was comfortable and well equipped. It was nice to have a sauna to warm up after swimming since the lakewater was a fresh temperature.
A few minor hiccups were swiftly resolved. Stellar customer service and everyone at True North Airways was a pleasure to deal with. We look forward to booking future adventures. Highly recommend.

Ian and Michelle own and operate TNA. They manage to provide a world class airline experience in a super relaxed yet organize approach. You feel like your best friend is getting you there and you are in safe hands.
I booked a scenic floatplane tour on our honeymoon at the cottage and Iain picked us up from the dock, took us on an amazing tour (with our dog!) and gave us a nice bottle of wine to enjoy in the afternoon after our flight! Michelle was amazing in setting this up for us very last minute. I couldn’t recommend this company more, I’m truly blown away, I would absolutely love to do it again!! Thank you guys!!
Just completed my float rating training at Sudbury Aviation and it was just awesome! Drew , Justin, and Blair are great instructors, and Ian and Michelle are excellent hosts. Beautiful location as well, great remote lakes and scenery all around the area - a fantastic way for any pilot to supplement their skills - and such a fun way to fly! Highly recommended.
It’s my first time to go fly-in fishing with my boyfriend ( it’s his 5th ), and i can say that we had a very great experience and adventure at Alton Lake and Ian made sure of that. Drew, the pilot, was also very helpful and courteous and flew us back and forth very smoothly and professionally. I would definitely recommend this place for adventures and at the same time a way of taking a break from the busyness of life. A time to enjoy the calmness and the beauty of nature. Oh, did i say it’s also a great place to fish? You bet, it is.
