I’m not a smoker but recently I acquired a rare isolate that required a crash course in vaporizers.

Arthur and John presented more options than any of the other dozen places I called, and when I came down to the store, they showed me everything I needed so I could make an educated decision.

Yes, it’s still open. Would I consider it a cigar shop? Not even close. They had gas station level cigars, that’s about it. I read about this “iconic” cigar shop and walked 4 miles to get a few cigars. This place is a dump.

Been shopping there for many years now. Wide assortment of products and very helpful and informative staff there. Sad that I moved away from the area. Stores where I live now don't even come close to what I had with The Smoking Shop.

Just left The Smoking Shop again and still appreciate and amazed by everything they have and do. If anything has changed, I would say the prices got a little better.

I visited this business tonight during their updated hours and I have to agree with every other review on this being the friendliest and best shop with the most variety of styles of pipes to choose from. My original review had a sour tone because I was disappointed but this owner was amazing today and I regret my initial message and review.

Shout out to Jimi for the great customer service. He was really patient with us while we looked around. We were indecisive and probably took up too much time. I was looking for a souvenir to take home with me and Jimi helped us find the perfect one. I recommend this shop 5/5. I’m definitely visiting again when I visit ny.

This place has historical roots since this Smoke shop was seen in the featured film "Gimme The Loot" movie and I highly recommend that you all watch that film it's about the hassle of the hood-life in NYC. Thought I would share this with everybody who sees this. I myself was born in the projects of Queens so yeah I will always love New York even though Marxist communism had taken over most of the good states and are now mostly blue democratic run down and all I had to move on to a red state in Texas. Lived in New York all of my whole life it's very much sad that it isn't like it used to be growing up anymore. I will always be a city hood rat of NYC but life goes on. However, I had never shopped at this store but I still support it's historical roots.

John, the owner, showed me how to use a box vape with a cartridge I bought from an online supplier. I had never used a box vaporizer before, having only used vaporizers for dried flowers. He also showed me a variety of vaporizers he has in the store. He is an extremely knowledgeable guy, and I could not recommend him more highly. His prices are incredible. I SHALL RETURN!!!!

I met the owner yesterday, an energetic, delightful man; he was incredibly helpful, and further sold me the vaporizer I wanted at a great deal (which he invited me to check against their website to see the price was fair).

I trust them now & will be happily returning soon. 😊

This store has history; the triangle of land where the store sits was not sold to the city when it bought the whole neighborhood.

Came here to see the HESS TRIANGLE didn’t go inside the store, it was cool to see ,the area is pretty live with the night life, and the Pizza in the area is great

Good selection and excellent prices for a small store. Customer service is friendly and welcoming; the clerk even offered to cut my cigars. I should probably give a bonus star for the Hess spite mosaic on the sidewalk in front of the door and for its prominent position in the opening sequence of Manhattan.

My go to place for good cigars. A Village icon. The night cashier Shorty is the man
