Nice place, well designed field layouts, good conditioned greens, very kind staffs, nice bunker designs, only 20 min from NJ.

Great place for a hike. Free parking during off season. Help keep the park clean!
I enjoyed Pelham Bay Park. I went on the trails on Hunter Island and visited Glovers Rock. The trails were interesting and scenic. The park was quiet and peaceful during this time of year.
This is an absolutely heavenly place to visit in the bronx. The skyline and water color are extreme beauty of this bay. I have visited this place with my friends and enjoyed the natural beauty.
Sadly poorly maintained. Signs indicate locals are volunteering to clean it up as the park crew doesn't do it themselves.

Good, friendly park. People here are pretty nice. Clean up after yourself and bring water - that’s about it!
As a small dog owner, I go to the small dog area of this dog run but was recently told that the space is to separate dogs who can’t be with other dogs instead.
Very nice, low key park. The main problem with this park is there is a NYPD shooting range across the bay. This means it is never peaceful. As you try for a nice peaceful walk, it will be inundated with sounds of automatic weapons and gunfire as if you are running through a battle zone. It can be very disturbing. You can have barbecues in the picnic area. There are tennis courts, a dog park, a very nice park for all age children with an attached basketball court and bathrooms. It is kept clean and attended by the nyc parks department. There are softball/baseball areas and very close to city island.
One of the biggest park in the city of New York lots of tree and still very green, the only thing most people don’t dispose their garbage properly. Workers always tried to do there job properly, thanks to that.

I love the nature trails all the little hikes are beautiful as are the views, unfortunately the water quality is less than desirable for swimming.
Wow! Where has this very large public park been hidden for so long?! In plain site and so easy to get to and park, an outdoor day of hiking and beaches and relaxing. Many Bar B Queing going on and a nice and relaxing place to visit. And enjoy a very different view of Long Island and the Bronx. Put it on your list!!

Best dog park in NY love it
This is a new dog run, and it's a really nice place. But some people don't know the dog run rules, which is pick up after your dog.
We bring our Cane Corso there quite regularly. What we've experienced is that in the early part if the day there seems to be an influx of smaller breeds to play. After about 2 it's larger breeds. This is when we bring Ntsika. He has made many friends. It's a large park in itself.. places to have picnics and/or just read a book. Very clean and responsible pet owners overall. Easy to access off the 6 train as well.
I usually love this dog run but lately there’s been a lot of reactive dogs and owners who still haven’t figure out how to control them. This isn’t a bad thing but it doesn’t make it easy when you are trying to introduce your dog to other dogs or introduce them to leash free environments. Usually everyone is super friend so it’s a good time all around.
Sadly my dog and I were attached a few months ago by dogs that were left in the run so it’s been a bit rough to have my little guy trust going there. We’re going slow but I soon hope he grows to love the dog run again.

Great dog park! Very well maintained and always full of friendly people with their dogs. Our doggies love it here. It’s also right near an entrance to Van Cortlandt park trails.
Good amount of space, but the gravel is so rough on my dogs paws. He had so many cuts, that he couldn’t walk without being in pain for more than a week. Never again.
Beautiful picnic and recreational park for ones without challenges to get around. Ideal walkways and areas to push wheelchairs or ride cart if in possession of such or if told beforehand.
Large fun dog park with friendly people and dogs. There’s a smaller section for smaller dogs and a larger section for larger dogs. The ground is dense sand, and there are benches and big flat rocks for the dogs to play around. There’s no nearby parking lot and no water fountain.
Poorly cleaned the dogs don't seem to mind.
I've been going to the dog park for a while. The regulars are great and everyone has been super inviting. It's been pretty clean when I've gone and I haven't had any problems so far. There is a water fountain nearby with a dog bowl included which I enjoy.
There needs to be variety of dog parks for these areas with so more many pet owners. The set up is harmful to our dogs. My little boy has caught conjunctivitis in his eye and a cut under his eye due to the nasty ground of unclean sand and real rocks with sharp edges. There should be grass and sand maybe with playground fake rocks. Plus, hardly no one cleans up after there dogs. We are searching on how we can get community involved for several local dog parks. It's near a zoo, why not more??
Wide double spaces! Lots of sand for digging and running. Plenty of space for rambunctious or playful pups! There isn’t immediate parking in the area. I usually pay the meter at the shopping center and walk back to the park.
Was late tonight when 👻 and I visited. We had the park all to ourselves. Nice size area for large dogs to rip and run about and get out packed up energy.
This park should be not be open after dark!!! Dog are barking really loud late at night after the dust park should not be open there should be no dogs there and we’re not able to sleep in this area because of the dogs barking So much. Police should come by and Monitor the park at night, this park sucks!!!!!!
Great place to bring your dog for some exercise and socialization. Most dog owners are respectful and are making sure their dogs are being friendly and respectful as well. For some reason the pump here has not been working for the past month and a half so make sure you bring water for your pup.
A great resource in Van Cortland that has not been maintained at all. Truly a shame. Broken gates, tall weeds, broken glass. Now it needs more than standard maintenance- it needs renovation.
Found a comfortable spot for a small birthday celebration and the bathrooms were open and clean.
Used to love taking my dog to this dog park. But it is so ugly now. High grass everywhere it looks like an abandoned park.
It's decent size. Bring toys, there is only 2 community park fetch items. Bring water. The hose for water doesn't work till labor day. Humans need to learn how to pick up after themselves.
Great! Lots of other dogs and people to socialize with in a beautiful setting. The water pump won't be active until labor day. Bring your own trays toys and water, because there isn't much for your dog to do alone.

This is our neighborhood dog run, and there is a lovely community of dog parents and dogs that visit most days.
We have a small alliance group that does regular clean-ups and special events (safely, of course) for this park, including providing poop bags for the dogs.

Cute little park with two dog parks in it. im assuming its one for the big dog and another for the little ones and the trail goes pretty long LOADS OF MOSQUITO so bring plenty of bug spray. Definitely look into the park I believe this trail goes to the back of Van courtland please dont hold me against it not sure, but Ill definitely look into it for sure other than that I think its cute. Have to find parking alot of the times I go and there is but if i habe to say one day the most everything was on top of each other and count find nothing to walk my dog, so I took her to the next park, you know better lucky next time for her but definitely worth the going they got benches to sit and sometimes the dog watering pump works but i bring my own water for my dog just in case of anything.
I think this is a great dog park, I especially like the divided gate between the smaller dogs and the larger dogs. Also very clean and maintained.
Parking is never an issue. Responsible dog owners, who clean after their companions. My dogs love it here
My dogs & I love it!! It’s very clean and kept up so nice! It has a GREAT community feel to it! Everyone pretty much knows one another so it’s even better! Most people are respectful and responsible with their dogs. All size dogs play together great!
Great dog run and not too crowded. Pretty clean and well kept. There's a dog run for small dogs and one for big dogs. My only (small) complaint is there's no water available for the small dogs.
The park is huge, you can BBQ and there is an area with a bunch of sprinkler's for the kiddies. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Special s/o to Ashley who stayed past her shift to clean a bathroom stall because there was a long line for the bathroom. And she did it with a smile and good cheer. All in all we had a great time. Oh and best of all it's dog friendly with a dog park so the furbabies can play too . Great park😊
Very small, there is dog poop everywhere despite signs saying pick up after ur dog. And no water fountain near by in case your pet gets thirsty.

There is poop everywhere, and it stinks. Gravel, the part that has a little bit of grass is not even cut to the point you can’t pass to the other side of the small dog run. Unbearable to be in!

Canine Court used to be a great dog park. Over the last few years it has not been well kept and both the grounds and the obstacles in the park have deteriorated. I even saw hyperdermic needles by the park months ago and had to contact park services to clean it up. Sadly I wish this park was better kept, but unfortunately it is not. That being said you will find many dogs in the park so use caution and talk to the owners because some dogs are friendly and others are not. Van Courtland Park overall is a great place to walk your dog. There are many trails to walk on. Just make sure to watch out for ticks, inspect your dog every time you visit and enjoy the park! It's a beautiful location.
There are 2 lots one with obstacles which dogs love. My little man had fun. There were other dog, they were big. My dog interacted with them well. The second lot is empty but need to be more taken care of. The grass is hi and there was a small hole by the bench. Sometimes some dog's wont interact well with others and it will be good to take the dog to the other lot. But its a good place.
One of the nicest dog parks in NYC
Not enough there aren't that many (Or at least not enough trees and grace in the Bronx), they came up with this sad park. Complete renovation is needed.
This is the first dog park. For real there is a sign there with the story. It is huge. Has two separate areas for small dogs. Grass covered with agility equipment no less. Shaded by weeping willows its very pleasant.
Officially called Oneida Run.

The only dog run in Woodlawn fought for long and hard and appreciated each day and taken care of by the multitude of dog lovers set for expansion for small dark dog park soon we all enjoy this true little heaven and hope you will too
