Good sight lines and overhead cover. Gravel is a hard on the paws. Just large enough for large dogs to get a good run in. Water is available for dogs. It's a clean, well kept park.
Love this creek for these super hot days. Recommend going during a weekday (if possible) to avoid crowds. Dog park area is open (not fenced) so be sure your pup has good recall.
The first park in the DMV it's different but nice. I liked it ran parallel to a creek but it was not part of the dog park. I didn't see the whole park and it might have obstacles but I only saw rocks which are good to train on.

We did a bulldog meet n greet. Had a great time. Lots of room to run n chase. Water for dogs, some balls n tug rope were available. Tubes n platforms for dogs to roam n play around. Best local dog park we've been to.

Great area for well trained dogs to run (it's not fenced). Generally not too busy but the dogs love running over and around all the tree roots😄

A large dog park with room for dozens of dogs and owners with no crowding. Very little grass but a central stone walking path with room on each side for the dogs to run and do zoomies. There's a fountain for the dogs not far in as well as benches for their humans to rest. Plenty of space for the dogs to play and meet new friends, the park is a great place to exercise and socialize your dogs.
I am so grateful for this dog park and how engaged the community is in its upkeep. They host fun events for the dogs throughout the year, making finding community in the neighborhood so much easier. The park has running water and a small dog side. The big dog area is large enough for my doberman to get his energy out daily.

Has some nice amenities. There are always lots of toys and balls to play with. Generally pretty clean. Some picnic benches on the west side under a covered pavilion round things out.

Long, beautiful dog park with an exit to the four mile run river. Takes about 5-10 mins to walk across it, basically a way to walk your dog without needing a leash. The exit to the river is a nice addition. Dogs can run around in the water and when they're done come back up to the park.
Great dog park to take the pups for a dip in the creek and train them to be off leash with you. My dogs love it, keep in mind; if you go down to the creek expect to get wet. YES, you’d be surprised at how many people look disappointed when they get muddy or wet.
***Only problem I’ve had are the older Karen’s (yes, I said it) that feel entitled to say something if your dog plays a certain way with a dog in your own pack, if your dog jumps on them, if the parking is inadequate, if you own too many dogs.
News Flash: it’s a dog park.
Still an awesome place. Don’t let anyone ruin it for you.
Had a great time, she loves playing in water. Small area off the water they call dog park zone not really even surfaces. Could get very muddy not much grass. I parked at the top and the walk to get there is down steep hill and coming back up very good workout. You can drive down there's a parking lot but it's a one lane road.
Nice, long stretch of area for dogs to roam and run and play. A bit muddy in spots, but not too bad after a tropical storm! Trees for shade, benches to stop and rest and the water stations for dogs are a plus. Not everyone cleans up after their pets and a couple of pets were left to wander around on their own, but these did not seem to be pervasive issues, nor did the dogs have behavioral issues. Minimal parking that you have to pay for. My dog loved it!

I’m used to some other local parks but Utah Dog Park is convenient for me. The place smells terrible all the time. That’s my biggest complaint.

It is well stocked with bags, toys and trash cans.
This dog park is a real treat, especially in the summer! Our water-loving doggie has a blast splashing around and fetching balls in the water. It's such a joy to see him having so much fun in this dog-friendly spot that's perfect for water-loving dogs.

Best dog park ever. It's the perfect off leash dog park. It's clean. It's spacious, and the dogs can get a great run in there. There is a creek for the dogs to swim in.
Great place to meet, for your friends and your dog’s. Most owners are quite attentive to picking up any land mines left behind by their pups, but some get left behind. There are several structures to jump on and in as well as water bowls to drink from. Here they also have a separate small dog and big dog park.
Awesome dog park! Wouldn’t recommend going if it’s rainy though, due to the gravel/dirt.

Felt very clean (for a dog park), had clean running water, was spacious & had fun cement structures for the dogs to play on.
Glad to see a dog park in the neighborhood. While this one doesn't have every possible amenity it has all the important bits, such as a water station and waste disposal.
One thing to keep in mind is there are several highrises under construction nearby, so noise can be a bit much depending on what time you go.

Great park but there is a huge amount of white privlage and discrimination against the disabled. The regular Caucasian group that also controls the dog park facebook page is blocking access to the disabled park on a regular. I went there the other day to see a branch wedged in the bridge blocking anyone from crossing the bridge. That is the only way handicap people can access the park. I called bull. I asked for the person that did it, so I can tell them why it's wrong. All the privlaged white people just looked. I had to remove it myself. I'm extraordinary disabled from my time in he military.

I then go to the facebook page to tell the page that they can't do that. People start saying that it's common. That they have called the police, the parks department, and the county and nobody cares.

Then my post gets removed. By the administrator of the page. I didn't say anything wrong. I pointed out some illegal activity and i got support from the minority and then they removed all our issues with the violation. Nobody cares about the disabled and others in need in Arlington. This is a violation of the American Disabilities Act. What happens is a disabled person is in the park and some white privlaged person puts the branch in the fence.
The disabled person is going to probably call thr cops for help. And the thing with Arlington PD, they only help themselves and people that have either money or power. Nobody else.

This has been happening at the public dog park on a regular and thr police, parks department, and the city government knows, they kudu don't care. Please help me make them care. It's not right and I cant do everything myself.

Please
We loved this park!
I find the location it’s in a little odd as it’s residential and the street is very narrow and parking is definitely limited. We parked on the street because the small parking lot reserved for the park was full.

We absolutely loved how shaded the park is. Yesterday was beautiful so the weather was perfect but there was a lot of shade which is great for us and our dog.

It is important to mention that there is more parking if you drive carefully down the narrow paved path. Several picnic tables throughout also.

The dog park was a huge hit with our Lab. Not only is there lots of room for her to roam and smell and explore all the things but there also a stream where she can swim! She was in heaven! FYIDogs are allowed to be off leash. I was pleasantly surprised with how fairly well behaved other dogs were unlike other dog parks we’ve been to and incase you didn’t want your dog to interact there’s plenty of space to be distanced from others.

I’m positive this will be a new favorite for us and our dog! 10/10 recommend.
Biggest dog park I've been to in the dmv. Great place to walk and have your dog interact with others. Despite it being cold today on a Sunday it was filled and very active. There are two areas. Small dog park 25 pounds and under (although if your dog is well behaved and you can control them then you can take them in..otherwise don't). The big dog park is the one that has very ample space and has a pavement walkway along it. There are tables. Dog poop bags. Benches. Even a bulletin board that you can place flyers on. For example a go fund me.
This park is fantastic and owners are usually very attentive. My dog has had some encounters with a couple of dogs that should not be at dog parks (toy aggressive, owner aggressive, resource guarding, etc.) but that is unfortunately the risk we all take when bringing our pups to the park. It is also unfortunate that the owners of these dogs are usually the ones on their phones, oblivious/refuse to acknowledge their dog’s behavior, treating the dog park like it’s a day care center or space to run their dogs unsupervised, etc. Otherwise, we are huge fans and will continue to visit this park! 99.999% of the time we meet wonderful people that care about the community, are there for the dogs, and will throw a ball for all of the pups to chase :)

Other things to note that are awesome about this park:
- there are two areas with running water for your pup
- there are two entrances for the large dog area with trash bins for pet waste
- clean pet waste bags are also usually available
- picnic tables are placed around the “back” end of the park and there are benches in the “front” end for seating
- there are cute, little agility-type areas in both small and large dog parks
- there are plenty of toys/balls (and sticks!)
- huge, beautiful trees provide shade
- walkable paths/trails around the park if your dog needs a break from playing/socializing
- quiet, safe neighborhood

I love that there is a small dog area - but I wish that more toy/small breed owners would use it.

Parking can get tricky during peak hours (and soccer season - there’s a field right next to the park) but we usually don’t have a problem :)
My husband and I love taking our dog to this park. It is very conveniently accessible from both the street and also the bike/walk path. Great variety of dog breeds and sizes and for the most part you can count on these dogs being universally friendly and well trained. A great time to visit is before dark if you want a large crowd of playful hounds. Go earlier in the day if you're looking for less company. It is also a very clean park. Having just come back from a trip to Montreal for the holidays, we really appreciate how well our local dog owners pick up after their pets. This was not the case in any of the 5 parks we visited in Montreal. Great work, community, and many thanks to those who maintain the park!!!
After > 1 year, it's fair to say this is not "interim" anymore. There was once fresh grass, now its pebbles (like a litter box) and mud. Be prepared for your dog to get a parasite here. Also mushrooms grow here and dogs dig them up and eat them and make them sick. Tip for the local Rosslyn office - once per year, go to Home Depot and get a couple rolls of grass. It's not that pricey.
My dog loooves this park, especially the access to the river. Well maintained park. It has dog poop bags available in different sizes. People are very good at picking up after their dogs.

I wish there were restroom available, and a quick washing station. But that is only a desire lol.
I've been going here for about a decade now. Never too crowded, but even if a lot of folks show up on a nice day there's plenty of space to spread out. If you go right from the entrance (past the park and into the trees) there are quiet little spots with water access and never anyone around, good place for shy dogs to get some water time.

Nothing is fenced in, tho, so if you got a dog that takes off this ain't the spot for you.
Great little spot in the middle of Rosslyn. Walk your dogs or just enjoy the park while surrounded by the bustle of the city around you.
Sometimes events are held here too.

Update. 11/4/23
Have a new picnic table, parks department painted everything, removed the old storage keeper and replaced with a new one. They fixed the fence so little dogs can't escape. Thank you parks department!!
★★★★★

Update. Still go to this park majority of the time. Someone swept under the shelter and the pathways. Whoever you are THANK YOU. It looks great!

Started going through this dog park almost a year ago. Absolutely love going here and the people that come here are usually very friendly. There is a dedicated water fountain source and plenty of dog bowls, it's fenced, there are two entrances, three picnic tables and plenty of tennis balls.

The ground is made up of pea gravel so it really doesn't get muddy when snow thaws or it rains.
I put paw treatments on my dog's paws anyway to help with cracking or from snow melt stuff on sidewalks.
Most dogs walk around and play with others, a few will get their zoomies on, some just like to watch other dogs.

Most owners do pick up after their dogs unlike Shirlington DP but then Utah is a smaller more manageable size compared to Shirlington.
You're always within sight of your dog at Utah.

If you come here enough you will start to feel like part of a little dog park family here at Utah and so will your dog 🐕‍🦺😊.
This is great facility and only exists because of the hard work and generosity of local dog lovers who recognized the great need for such a park in its increasingly densely populated neighborhood. The park has its own local sponsorship organization which raises money to help maintain the park as well as put on neighborhood events such as a dog Halloween party. The folks that regularly use the park are very friendly and it's a great place to meet people who live in the neighborhood. No doubt it is truly a great neighborhood asset that I hope the County will remove its "interim" designation and make the facility a permanent fixture for the community.

Listen, I love this little park, and most of the people and dogs who use it are great. However, the city put new gravel down in the autumn, and it's cut up my dog's paws quite a bit every time we play there--cut up badly enough to leave blood stains on my clothes and in my car. A little effort would go a long way at this park.
Great dog park with sides for big and small dogs! I absolutely LOVE that it has lighting for when it gets dark early!
A hidden gem in Arlington! My pup and his friend loved it. They love every dog park but the fact that this one has a place to swim and plenty room to run was nice and I’m happy that I found this place. I parked at the top of the hill and took a 6 minute walk to the dog park but if you continue down past the first parking lot that you see you will come across a parking lot way closer to the dog park.
Nice neighborhood dog park. It has water available, lots of shade, and several concrete structures with astro turf. The park was clean and well cated for with separate small and large dog sections. The owners were attentive and mindful of their dogs.
Best small dog park ever-- we take our puppy here every day. Great spacious and safe area for our small dog to run, play, and relax. Most owners are friendly and responsible. Highly recommend bringing your dog here!
My dog and I really like it here! It used to be nothing special and always too muddy, but it got renovated a year or so ago and it’s great now! I live in Fairfax so for me it’s a 20-minute drive but it’s worth it. Every time I’ve been there are a bunch of dogs here, and the owners are all respectful and nice. My dog loves to sniff around near the trees, and likes to jump on the concrete cylinders (not sure what they’re called!) and follow my commands for treats. I also foster dogs and they all love it here too! These pictures are of a recent foster puppy enjoying the park - he had a blast playing here!

This is private property for resident of The Point at Pentagon City Apartment ONLY. Well behave friendly dogs from non-resident often welcome if the resident at the park at that time allow. However, if non-resident dogs are not behaved, they need to be removed immediately. Beware of trespassing charge if you’re non-resident and use it without permission.
A great size for the area and fantastic to have dog park nearby! The space is fairly well kept with good fencing and gates. Free waste bags are available all over the park and plenty of seating spaced nicely out. Two sides are available, the larger side for large dogs and a smaller side for small dogs. For those driving to this location, there isn't much parking locally, but otherwise it's in a nice spot within Gateway Park.

For now it seems like the water fountain is not working - hopefully will be fixed soon.

My pup and I are a big fan of this dog park. Good size for running and playing but not too big that you can’t sit in one spot and still see your dog wherever they are. People are always nice and dogs are always friendly. They can get a bit rough at times but cmon they’re dogs and I’d say most people I’ve encountered here lean toward being more cautious about their dogs being polite and not riling everyone up. Only downside is in winter there are no lights so we can’t come as often which is a big bummer!!

Puppies 1st dog park. Nice size for puppies. Gravel so it gets dusty and you better plan to bathe your pups once done.
Decent park for the residents of Avalon. Need key fob to enter gate

Porta potty, and covered picnic benches, and plenty of poo bags. It's not too busy, and perfect for your more nervous dogs.
Good space for a dog to run around. A separate smaller fenced area is ideal for small or less socialized dogs. The only downside is that it is almost constantly muddy and never dries out and many places. don't show up there and your best shoes or outfit as dogs made jump upon you with their muddy feet. There are also benches and tables to sit at for families.
