Huge area with so much to do for everyone. Hikes, dog park, picnic area, waterfall, zoo, lake side. You make it and this has it all. It's a wonderful place to just relax and spend a day out
Nice park for trail running. No real water sources tho. Put in 50k self supported and really could have used a spigot. Other than that decent trails with some nice single track options but mostly maintained fire roads.
This reserve is amazing! Starting with the beautiful waterfall and ending up with the magical fairy trail 🧚‍♀️. Had a wonderful day ✨☀️
My wife and I love this place we come here multiple times a year. The fairy trail is accessible by train if you come from NYC or somewhere else in NJ this is a great place to hike and take photos. We took maternity photos here.
reserve is very big, so be sure to drive there and also depending on the weather. we went to hemlock falls and there wasn’t so much water there maybe due to drought? overall recommend if you like places bot charged with crowds
Wonderful trail, not too intense and great for casual walk. There’s some difficult terrain going onto the summit, and at the top you’ll be treated to some wild raspberries too.
Early in the morning is your best bet if you’d like to do some trail running.
Parking is limited though and many people take their dogs off leash - just be cautious.
Nice little trail. The kids love the fairy houses and were inspired to make their own. Waterfall isn't a natural waterfall, but still beautiful nonetheless. They have three Porta John's in the parking lot, including a handicap one. Parking lot was almost completely filled. We visited on Sunday 2023.08.13 in the afternoon. We brought our dog and saw many others with dogs there.
This is such a pretty and popular park, just like Central Park but with streams and waterfall. Guess what, the park was designed by the Olmsted brothers who were sons of Olmsted designer of Central Park. Even in winter this park looks really nice. It has multiple easy trails and parking lots. Dogs and kids have great fun here. I'll be back to take better photos. The neighborhood surrounded this park is wealthy and nice too.
