Amazing school with amazing staff!!! The neighborhood is so lucky to have such an amazing school! When I had problems with registering multiple classes online, Amy was so patient and helpful answering my calls and later helped me register class by class when they found out there was something wrong with the system! My kids have been enjoying the classes!!!

I really wish that HSA would be more affordable for the people that is raised and born or better yet lives in this community for over 15 years should get a discount and I’m not talking about financial Aid!!! Which by the way want all my business just for my kid to attend an art program. Now that Harlem is more open to the different Cultures!!!!!! We the Harlem
knights pay the price for it. FYI I went to HSA when it was all black people in Harlem and trust me my mommy did not pay in the 1000’s either.

Our son attended the Teen Camp and really enjoyed it. In his words, found it "chaotic, high energy, awesome and mentally intense (thx to Andy for the music theory lessons;-)). Eli was a fantastic leader who was great with the kids and very personable. Our son enjoyed the other teens who came in from a variety of places, far and close, and who were talented, personable and equally passionate about their music. All around a great musical journey filled with great company and teachers. Kudos to the entire team for sharing this American musical gem with teens so well!

Studying jazz music with world class artists under the Tuscan sky is a life-changing experience. From the incredible vistas to the amazing food and wine, every detail of this workshop is thoughtfully prepared. After a week of instruction, balanced by visits to historic sites, shopping and dinner in one of the nearby cities and the camaraderie of lounging by the pool or walking in the vineyard, the concert on Friday brings together musicianship and friendship in a truly magical night.

Amazing instructors who care deeply about their students and provide amazing opportunities for jamming sessions and performances with other musicians. They are so patient towards jazz beginners but are equally qualified to teach and inspire people at intermediate to advanced levels. They have helped me strengthen my knowledge of music theory, build skills for improvisation, and become a more confident vocalist. Love them so much! <3

NYJW is amazing! I play the sax and I've been in the Improv 1 workshop with Patience for the last 9 months. My background is in classical and the workshop has taught me how to think about music differently and break out of my rigid training. I leave every class inspired with more questions. I appreciate how the class has a good balance of music theory paired with live practice.

Great place, wonderful music, Kevin Zhu was marvelous, but bring your down coat, a scarf, gloves, a cap, and winter boots. Men, don't forget long jones, you will have hand over your warm clothes to your ladies. They are air-conditioning their cozy looking concert hall to arctic temperatures. I'm exaggerating, of course, but everyone around me was freezing, the girls were borrowing men's jackets, or covering themselves with coats. The regulars all had scarves ready. Been there twice this month, after both excellent concerts, my wife had a cold, despite her wearing a sweater and a silk scarf the second time.

Loved the experience of seen the orchestra of ST.LUKE'S playing and learning more centro america culture,instruments and some more of our classic music orchestra.

Beautiful concert venue in a great location: good acoustic, comfortable seats, friendly stuff.

I saw a wonderful concert of Bach's Cantatas. Just wonderful hearing a selection of them in a wonderful and intimate theater that allows you to completely focus on the music and not the space. Highly recommended to hear various classical pieces!

As a black mother, I tried to get my children in that school for years. Now as a black grandmother, I tried to get my grandchildren in there. Total of 28 years, I lived across the street from HSA. I guess my black family wasn’t dark enough, too poor & or not light enough. But, my new neighbors are all up in HSA. They could have been the reason why I didn’t watch so closely. At 60 years old, I have to see a lying clown on CBS. I hope no calls me for the truth.

NYJW has an excellent faculty of professional musicians who are not only great players but also great teachers. NYJW offers numerous 'live playing' workshops as well excellent theory classes including ear training and counterpoint. I hight recommend NYJW to anyone who wants to enhance their knowledge of the multiverse of Jazz and all its inter related art forms.

I had a great experience. I attended The Lotte Lenya Competition. It was amazing! Showcasing the talents of the up and coming singers/ actors between the ages of 19-32 to perform theatrical selections. It was a wonderful time watching the performances of the contestants as well as watching previous finalists perform. A wonderful awards program followed by a fantastic reception. The Kaufman Music Center is beautiful, it's clean, great acoustic, beautiful theatre. If you go make sure you have your Covid card, they will check for it and you must wear a mask. 😷

This center for excellence is amazing. The vision and commitment of gifted musician educators and administrators is in full display. Enjoyed a beautiful spring jazz concert available to the public, and can't wait to return for more.

2/8/2020 The Love, Laugh & Poetry Tour: NYC. 3 fantastic poeteers Mike the Poet, Jay Martinez and Poetic Style, expressed their lyrical words, enchanting their audiance with self empowerment of the heart. Loved it, bought some books and tee shirts. I'm looking forward to their enlighten experience again.

NYPS features musicians from all walks of life incl. finance, marketing, strategy and science. From their virtuoso performances, nobody would guess they did anything other than play music all their lives.. that’s how they are. Brilliant music 🎶 with great hall acoustics, vantage seating, and refreshments outside all at a very affordable price made this one of my most enjoyable evenings this year. They have a comprehensive arts program and the instructors are highly qualified and trained. A very nice enviornment for yoing and mature students. With such a rich history, its going to be interesting see the development as gentrification presses on.

4 such an amazing experience for her everyone there from the security staff to every teacher is amazing Mr Aubrey Lynch taught her class today. This gentlemen is phenomenal his resume speaks for itself he's the male Debbie Allen

I love this school because they offer so many different classes that there's a place for each child. My daughter loves this school because she enjoys dancing ballet and contemporary dance. One of the perks about the dance department is part that they're part of The American Ballet School which is a plus. It's one of the very few schools in the Uptown Manhattan area that offers art enrichment for children at a reasonable price.

Excellent environment to learn , experiment and develop your craft.
It is run by outstanding staff who work with students to develop their full potential and the lessons and ensembles really focus on develop a solid working knowledge of jazz as it is practiced today. Highly recommend you check these guys out. They are the best!

My granddaughter who is five attends Saturday classes here. She loves it! The teachers are great, the facilities are very nice. Classes are a good size and the children are excited about what they are accomplishing.

so far it's been a great experience to jam and learn at NY Ensemble classes. the tutors are equipped with vast knowledge as far as jazz and generally in music. most of these guys are experienced musician from New York City. this gives a perfect combination in wanting to become an outstanding musician.

The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. Here you get to put all you've practiced on your own to the test as well as getting feedback from different perspectives. A really enjoyable and supportive atmosphere where you can better your skills and musicianship. A must for anyone looking to get better.

My experience with NYJA has been absolutely amazing. David Engelhard is a phenomenal teacher, and an even better person. Javier Arau, the founder of NYJA has gone above and beyond to ensure that I found a NYJA program which was the correct fit for my musical goals. NYJA has an atmosphere of professionalism, equality, humility, and passion- staying true to the roots of jazz music indeed. I haven’t experienced a 2 hour group/session that was more educational and inspirational in years. I’m humbled and thrilled to be a part of NYJA.

I hadn't played in a few years and wanted to get back into ensemble playing. Paolo (and all of the assistant instructors - Thanks Jeff et al!) were encouraging, helpful and created an environment where I jumped right in was back into it! The vibe was always great and there were always supremely nice and skilled players. We all learned, played and elevated together in Jazz! I would recommend this to all jazz musicians as it is a flourishing and fertile ground in which to grow!

New York Jazz Academy is amazing, as a student in one of the workshops I am very exited to share that in a very short period of time I have learned so much and that I finally started expresing my self in a more musical way. What ever your musical goals are, there will be a program designed to help reach those goals. I have had the oportunity to study with several teachers and wow, these guys are amazing, as musicians and educators. It is such a Joy to be a part of these programs. For those interested in learning jazz, I highly recomend NYJA. You can study with them for a while or for ever if you like, and just keep getting better. They also offer many awesome online classes and I think this great for people who want to have acces to high quality education and that are in other side of the globe. Their online education is, as all of their programs top of the line, a fruitful contribution for jazz music. One other thing to consider is price, I think that from what they offer (to really help you with your exact musical goals) they charge way to reasonable, and that for me is so much more valuable than what ever any acredited jazz university with un-personilized programs offer and end up charging you for ever and giving you not what you need exactly but what ever they have.
