Very busy station. You can buy the foreign tourist PASMO card here, despite the current disruption of IC cards. The attendant at the Tourist Information kiosk was so unbelievably helpful, it's probably the best customer service interaction I've ever had. She even noticed that we were a bit sweaty and offered to turn the AC down in the room, walked us back and forth and made sure it was handled. Would recommend for tourists needing assistance with PASMO especially.

The starting point of Yurikamome Line U1. I came from Tokyo Metro line intended to transit to the Yurikamome Line. The walk is about 300m & the signage is visible. It is walking from 1 building to another building but via an underground walk. There is a kiosk machine to buy the Yurikamome Day pass for ¥820 just before the gate.

The Shimbashi Station (Yurikamome Line) is the most convenient way to Odaiba and it’s view while riding the train was astonishing. It’s highly recommended to ride here before or after the rush hour on weekdays. Weekends can be very crowded.

No enough space to exit during rush hour. You pay 150yen if you go to the entrance of the station and get out of the same station, If you use your IC card ?? Really?! Is Metro Tokyo not enough expensive?!
Amazing “salary-man / salarypeople” culture here! The MANY standing izakayas are the BEST and meeting people after their work is a beautiful way to get to know the culture. Very glad I used to work here and always a pleasure coming back :)🍻

Yurikamome line. One of attractions of Tokyo. The trains of the line have no driver. It’s automatically run. You can see many attractive spots through the window of this train. The beautiful Rainbow Bridge, the replica of the Statue of Liberty, Daiba city, Tokyo bay are some of them.

Using Yurikamonme line - I actually like this train (even though on the way back we were sardined).

This train goes to Odabia area and has quite a few stops there.

The train is not particularly fast, but it is clean and nice. It is a newer line and all stations are clean and modern.

the Yurikamome line is an elevated train.

It does follow the freeway/rainbow bridge to Odaiba, which is pretty cool if you get a nice view of the trip.

It is a private line, so you will have to buy your tickets different from JR. But I do believe Suica and Pasmo will work.
Station is in the heart of Tokyo. Very clean and is connected to the Oedo and Yurikamome line

Great station and central to many other locations.
There from here from shiodome station off sky train seem to be difficult. Walking toward toei ‘s oedo line had two elevators. Then you will reach large concourse connecting to many buildings.

From maps there is elevators near family mart. U must take Elevator number D to the concourse if you take elevator number c you will go to Floor/ground level

Like its neighbors Ginza and Tsukiji, Shiodome (汐留) area is built on what was originally a seaside marshland.
Tokugawa Ieyasu (徳川家康) issued an order in 1603 to fill in the area, and as a result throughout the Edo period Shiodome and nearby Shimbashi, Ginza, Tsukiji (新橋・銀座・築地) became a samurai residences areas.
The name Shiodome (汐留), which translates to "keeping out the tide", probably referred to the shogun's desire to isolate Edo Castle (now the Imperial Palace) from Tokyo Bay.
After the Meiji Restoration, the new Imperial government expropriated the daimyo-owned lands in this areas, and when first railroad in Japan was established between Yokohama and Tokyo in 1872 (Meiji 5), Shinbashi station (新橋停車場 Shinbashi Teishajō) as the starting point was constructed in Shiodome and it became a gorgeous entrance gate of Tokyo. However, the Tokyo station was completed in 1914 (Taisho 3), and the starting point of Tokaido Main Line was changed from Shinbashi station to Tokyo station, so Shinbashi station was changed to a freight exclusive station. The passenger terminal at Shiodome was closed down, and Karasumori Station on the Yamanote Line was renamed Shimbashi Station.
Shiodome Freight Terminal remained the primary freight yard for Tokyo through World War II, despite extensive damage from the Great Kanto earthquake which destroyed the original passenger terminal. The 1936 opening of the Tokyo Metropolitan Central Wholesale Market in nearby Tsukiji increased the terminal's importance in the Tokyo distribution network.
Shiodome Freight Station was abolished in 1986. After that, "Huge vacant lot" consisting of 31 hectares of the Japan National Railway Co., Ltd. was left untouched, but finally in 1995, the city infrastructure development in Tokyo Urban redevelopment began with private projects.

In 2004 (Heisei 16), 13 high-rise office buildings were lined up, with several high class hotels, numerous restaurants, shops Shiodome area was reborn as new urban complex connected by underground passages and pedestrian decks.
