Recently got a pair of honey gouramis. The fish are doing super fine and seemed healthy from the get go.

I really loved that the store included live plants in their holding tanks to make it less stressful for the fish. Beats just seeing fish stored in empty containers. All fish seemed to be doing super well.

Will come again all the way from Langley!

I have nothing but positive things to say about Aquariums West! It is definitely the best aquarium and reptile store in the lower mainland. The staff is incredibly helpful and attentive and knowledgeable. The store itself is beautiful and wonderful to be in. Whether it's feeder insects, elaborate terrarium set-ups, or plant life for doing your own terrestrial or aquatic set-ups, this store has it all. The staff has always had time for my questions and concerns and went out of their way to help me establish a set-up for my classroom and connected me with someone who could help me find more fire bellied toads (as well as selling me their only remaining toad). I will definitely give them my business for as long as I have frogs. I also recommend them to anyone I know looking to get into fish, reptile or amphibian keeping. You guys are so great!

Purchased a Betta, and was pleased to see all theirs looked healthy, and ours has continued to look happy after being placed in his tank. The staff is great, they ask if you need help but don't hover, and when you do have a question they're easy to find. Not only are they informative, they don't try and upsell or push unnecessary stuff on you. All their suggestions were on point, and the only reason I didn't buy buy them, is because I have the gear at home. I'd definitely trust them to help a beginner start their tank.

Aquariums West is my go-to store in Vancouver for fish, amphibians and reptiles (yes all three...). The animal and fish displays are fun and attractive, as are the aquatic plants. The animals are very healthy and the tanks super clean. They stock most items of items that one needs for the animals they sell (no need for Amazon or US-based suppliers). The staff are friendly & very knowledgeable about the animals - many have long experience raising the same animals at home. I purchased a pair of Dendrobates frogs from them more than five years ago, and have continued to buy supplies and get advice. Our latest purchase from Aquariums West was a ball python so we are now learning reptile care. Overall: highly recommended!

First time ordering with you guys and ya have some of the nicest plants I’ve seen in a long time. Very accurate fullness like the photos. I ordered 4 different Anubias types. Many had multiple plants too. Great prices for what I received. Packaged well. Super pumped and definitely need more so I look forward to it!

They have great service and always there to help with things when it comes to my pup and cat.

I didn’t buy anything but my god did I have fun here for an hour or so. They carry such a large variety of fish. There’s also reptiles, amphibians, spiders, and a set of guinea pigs looking for a home!! When I have the time and space for fish I will be coming back here to get them and all the supplies 🫡

Didn't see a lot of bulk options for cat food but lots of individual cans, refrigerated foods and toys/accessories

Not from here, but definitely enjoyed the visit. Saltwater selection is relatively small and I didn't see much coral- but a nice shop overall. Clean, helpful ppl, and lots of good brands in terms of equipment.

Great customer service - I bought an aquarium kit as an impulse. When I got home searching for accessories etc I found out that another local store was selling what I just bought for 40% less than what I paid for it.
I was disappointed in myself for not checking before hand but I let the owner Jeannie know and she accepted the discrepancy and refunded me the difference even though I said I would prefer supporting small businesses and happily take store credit - she insisted I take the refund. We don’t see these kind of store owners these days… thank you Jeannie

I had a very good experience with James, who I assume is the owner. I came in looking for some advice and he was extremely helpful and compassionate about the challenges we were facing with my son’s fish. He had some good suggestions for me and gave me some beneficial bacteria and stress reliever fluid for our fish. Thank you James!

Beautiful, beautiful aquariums and friendly employees. You may find interesting fish now and then, as they frequently import fish from Asia. Check their website to find out what they currently stock!

Dog wash machine shampoo and conditioner was not working. Unclean brushes and towel still had hair. I wish these store clean between dog washes but unfortunately it's a typical situation in other Mr. Pets locations too.

Honestly this is the best (and only?) good Aquarium store in the city. Always super knowledgeable & helpful staff regarding reptiles and fish. Aquarium equipment and supplies. A Great selection of water plants.
They also sell rodents, guinea pigs and chinchillas too!

Pretty much bought everything for our tank from this store over the past 15 years. Except our actual tank which was from the 80s.

Just a heads up side note;

It can be a little uptight with the on-going covid restrictions and how you enter and leave the store can be a bit uncomfortable and off-putting.

You have to leave your backpack behind the counter and wait behind a rope before being allowed entry.
This is understandable in our city of Vancouver where shoplifting & addiction is rampant unfortunately. This store is way too nice to let any scumbags in. I get it.

Happened to wall by on our way to lunch and of course had to go in, even if fish store shopping when you can't buy fish is torture. Beautiful store, well organized, whoever is planting their tanks is AN ARTIST, they are absolutely stunning. Fish all seemed well loved, but the care and attention paid to their bettas made me so happy. Lots of space, fresh clean water, happy clear eyed brightly coloured fish. The same love and attention paid to their reptiles and amphibians. Your store was a pleasure to shop in and we are so happy we are going home from our vacation with some new decor for our own tanks.

I’ve been to Aquarium West several times and I’ve only ever had nice experiences. The one time I purchased a large tank, they helped me carry it to my car and when I had questions about the plants and livestock their staff was very knowledgeable and would help me find exactly what I was looking for. The girl that works there is honestly the best! There was one time where she helped me brainstorm a plan for re-aquascaping my tank.

Overall, I highly recommend it here :)

Great pet store and friendly staff. They even let us try on dog sweaters and give treats out that meet different dogs’ dietary restrictions! Love!

Went on a morning visit over to Aquariums West the other day! Had an alright time purchasing aquatic plants and a few fish, staff there are super friendly and knowledgeable! Thanks again friends :) Will for sure be back soon!

For me it was just alright. Kind of a mediocre aquarium store compared to others I've been to. Sure they have lots of good supplies and fish but I suspect the care for them is not the best. They sold me a sick fish that died 2 days after I got it. In fact, about half the fish I got from there ended up dying after not very long. Was not impressed with that. The staff seem to think they know everything as well when they clearly don't. The store looks nice and organized though, that's why 3 stars and not less.

I've finally made it to this place after a long desire to come here. The lack of parking and location make it hard to visit.

The store is clean and tidy. However I am thrilled about how clean their tanks are. Also they seem to specialize in planted tanks. Fish are also quite unique.

We were asked if we needed help twice so we were looked after well. The prices are decent and we noticed other stores upping the cost of basic fish like neon tetras. I won't complain about the cost here because everything costs more in this day in age.. Plus rental space downtown is not cheap.

We went to mr pet last week, hoping for a new addition. To our budgie family. We have 2 right now. And 1 of them his name is Blue and he’s a year and 5 months old now. We got him from Mr Pet. Unfortunately we were unable to get a new addition. We will soon 🔜

Wide selection of stock and merchandise that’s easy to browse on your own. Staff is helpful if you can’t find what you’re looking for or need recommendations. Plenty of dog toys and accessories, which is what I’m looking for. A walk through the aisles reveals all types of supplies and food for every kind of pet. It’s not my ‘go to’ pet store, but gets ‘5 stars’ because it’s a short stroll from home.

I went in for cat food and decided to check out the reptile section since I have a Ball Python. Found this beautiful little lady, now named pistachio, and left with her. 😍
They were very helpful finding what I needed to get for her, and was an enjoyable experience dealing with the woman that helped me. Have fallen so in love with this little Emerald Swift, that I will be returning and ordering 5 more 🤣
2 more for home and I also own a business and want 4 for an enclosure there. 5 stars.
