Top Wedding bakerys in Rome, Italy

I am not one who usually leaves bad reviews, but my experience with this bakery was unacceptable so I’m willing to look like a Karen to warn other people. I am American, have been living in Rome for almost a year now, and have been craving a normal chocolate cake with chocolate frosting ever since I moved here. For my birthday, my boyfriend decided to treat me with an American-style cake that he knew I wanted so badly, and found this bakery. We were hopeful because the bakery claimed to make American-style treats. We ordered the cake with the bakery and they were very kind to get it to us even with a short turn around period (ordered Saturday, picked up Monday evening). When we picked up the cake we could see that it wasn’t exactly what we were hoping for, but decided that the inside could still be good and that we shouldn’t judge it from the appearance. When we finally cut into it at my party, we saw the icing in between the layers was not chocolate, but a white color and quite thick and chunky. When we tasted it, the chocolate sponge was okay, but we discovered pretty quickly that what we thought was frosting in between the layers was just a heavy amount of butter and sugar mixed together. We tried to enjoy the sponge, but the “buttercream” (aka butter) was so overpowering that the cake was almost inedible. The owner contacted us afterward and asked us how we liked the cake, we expressed our concerns to them (including how the cake was missing the piping on the top) and sent them the pictures of the cake, and they pretty much said that they were sorry and if there is another occasion in the future then they would make themselves forgiven. They also said that they didn’t include the piping on the top (as is shown in the picture we sent to them as reference) because it would have added to the weight of the cake. Which I would normally understand, except for the fact that most of the weight of the cake was carried in the two inches of butter spread between the layers. There was no attempt to make the situation right from their end, pretty much just a shrug and a “better luck next time.” That response was a huge disappointment, seeing as how we paid €60 for a cake that we couldn’t even enjoy. Unless you have a craving for full mouthfuls of butter and some birthday disappointment, do not order a cake from here.

Un paio di giorni fa gironzolando per San Lorenzo, decido di ripararmi in questa pasticceria dal vento freddo che tirava di prima mattina. Come per magia mi sono catapultato indietro nel tempo. Una pasticceria rimasta intatta nel tempo, con dolci e prodotti genuini e torte dall’aspetto e dal gusto squisito. Per non parlare della signora che mi ha servito, che ringrazio per la sua pazienza nonostante fossi completamente paralizzato dal freddo. Sinceramente l’esempio perfetto per ogni pasticceria di quartiere che si rispetti a Roma. Calda, accogliente e che ti faccia sentire un po’ a casa anche a qualche chilometro di distanza.

Probably the best Pasticceria in Rome. Same quality, service, and shopkeepers as 30 years ago. A must try!

Ottima la crostata ripiena di crema e top di vera marmellata alle visciole! Giusta consistenza, friabile e da asporto si presenta bene! Prezzi buoni.

My wife celebrated her birthday while we were visiting Rome. I bought a selection of pastries from this location for the birthday girl and family. The selection in the shop was good. While there was a language barrier between our lack of Italian and the shopkeeper’s limited English, the transaction was easy to complete. The pasteries were fresh and delicious. Would certainly recommend this shop, if you are in the area.

Very nice and tasty cup cakes and amazing staff in the bakery. We bought a mix of cup cakes and the favorite was without doubt Red Velvet ❣️The other ones tasted a bit similar but still good.

Ho commissionato alla pasticceria la mia torta per il compleanno dei 30 anni. Ho scelto la millefoglie perché la mia preferita, e si è rivelata la più buona e particolare che io avessi mai mangiato! Sono sicura che la crema abbia un ingrediente segreto ma..non sono riuscita a capire quale! Ho ricevuto i complimenti da parte di tutti gli amici invitati. Per non parlare del modo carino in cui hanno realizzato la scritta (che ho voluto io stessa, ovviamente).
Prezzi nella media, ma valgono la qualità.

Amazing service and even better cupcakes! It was very easy to order through whatsapp and there was great communication from Valentina. The cupcakes were both beautiful and delicious.

I have not words, I cant say enough great things about this place. Service was fantastic, it was professional, understanding and super friendly. In other words, it was such a good expirence. I ordered a cake from across the world haha, me being in Canada i thought will be super hard to get a cake delivered to a loved one, but i was wrong. I cannot say enough great things about Dream Cakes Bakery!! My husband and I took a trip to Rome this October to celebrate his 40th birthday and our first wedding anniversary. I reached out to Dream Cakes Bakery via Facebook Messenger to see if they could help me surprise my husband with a special birthday cake while we were in Rome. Dream Cakes Bakery was super responsive and quickly agreed to help me. I sent pictures of a few “king of my heart” cakes I liked and they basically took it from there! They recommended a cake size to achieve the desired look, but also keep the cost reasonable. I paid for the cake via PayPal before we got there and checked in once we arrived just to make sure everything was in place. They delivered a beautiful birthday cake on Sunday evening to the restaurant where I scheduled his birthday dinner and the cake was delicious! The service, quality, taste, and design execution were all exceptional!! I am so thankful I found this bakery and they were so willing to help me surprise my husband while we were in Rome. My girlfriend moved to Rome, making it very difficult to find my favorite southern desserts. We were having a dinner with her father and I was so pleased to find a baker who could make such terrific red velvet cake and pecan pie.
