Had a hugely disappointing meal there this week. Quality appears to have dipped while prices have risen. Uncooked good sent out, dishes just adequate at best No atmosphere and empty tables on a Friday evening. Sad because I’ve enjoyed meals here regularly in the past. Hope they can improve.
Ww enjoyed the food and we all thought the cost was OK. However, we had 2 servers, the young woman seemed a little standoffish but did improve. The young male server was nice but had a bad Body odour problem. I haven't been in this place for years , loved the decor and would go again.

Always a pleasant experience. The set menus are very wallet friendly but still very tasty and pleasing. The a la carte is also diverse and tempting.
Staff are alert and pleasant.
We often go here for lunch when shopping in Nottingham and have never been disappointed.
A genuine French feel to the restaurant that has maintained its standards for many years. Highly recommended.
Our favourite restaurant. We were served throughout the evening by the manageress, Princess, herself. She went the extra mile for us, even took the time to take family photos throughout our celebration and really made it very special for us. Thank you, Princess ! The food was fabulous, and always is everytime we go. Lovely French ambience ...the only pity is that no staff speaks French at all - it is after all a French restaurant and I think it would have just added that final French touch and atmosphere. But we will certainly be back.

My favourite restaurant in Nottingham, and the only authentic French restaurant in Nottingham.
One of the only places you can find Perrier, Orangina and Ricard, amongst others.

Food is really food, always, whether you dine à la carte or have the lunch/ pre theatre menu.

Good selection of less common wines that are always good and good value for money.

Really friendly people and great vibes too.

Had venison last time and it was absolutely amazing! Starter and desert were great too.

I really wish I had more time so I could come more often...

Unexpectedly amazing and a memory we will hold onto for a very long time. Everything about French Living Restaurant, Nottingham is extraordinary and the family who have always ran the place are beyond hospitable. We perused the family/restaurant history album found atop a cabinet next to our table where we saw Pierre (the owners son who is there working hard decades after his picture was captured), other members of the French Living family and a handful of Stephane the Owner/Founder. The dishes served at French Living are astonishingly delicious. We finished our dinner with a Crème Brulee especially fantastic.

If you are a living person who eats food, French Living in Nottingham will be one of the best culinary decisions you will ever make.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was nice and simple. The atmosphere was quite. The food was so nice. My favourite was the sticky toffee pudding. Its to die for, if you go for anything, go for that!
I arrived to a full and bustling restaurant at dinner time without a booking. The maître d' was so charming by welcoming me anyway and immediately cleared a table for me.
This was the beginning of a truly memorable experience.
The waitrons were busy but friendly which just added to the atmosphere.
The meal was superbly delicious. Thank-you Chef!
Will definitely be back.
A truly French atmosphere from the moment you walk in. Friendly staff, fantastic choice, and all food freshly cooked. On street parking only. A great end to my sons graduation day! You will not be disappointed.

Such a lovely little restaurant. Very authentic French food, served and tastes just like when your eating in France! We went for our first wedding anniversary because we got married in France and it didn't disappoint.

First time visiting this restaurant, though I have no idea why. They do a set menu on weekdays which is 3 courses for £22 which is an absolute bargain considering you can get steak frites included in that. I opted for the lamb which was stunning. Weirdly, couldn’t identify a couple of the vegetables it was served with but the potato dauphinois was sensational. The creme brûlée that one of our party had is the best I’ve ever tried.
Authentic, flavoursome French food with friendly service. Highly recommend.

Great evening with family for a 70th birthday! A little cool downstairs. Good variety of food (could have been a little warmer too) but very tasty. Good kids menu- same as adults but less which was great. Friendly and helpful staff. Been many times and would highly recommend.

Beautiful cosy place with a very french location and atmosphere.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a multitude of french messages and pictures. The menu is quite simple and is changing once in a while.
The staff is very friendly and happy to help.
The food is good and there are beautiful layers of flavours. The deserts are absolutely delicious.
I recommend it.
Friendly team, food severed relatively quickly and was very tasty. We went on Valentine's day and it was very busy yet still very pleasant atmosphere. Would recommend.
Visited here Saturday afternoon.
Pre-booked afternoon tea for two. Arrived at 2.30pm and sat at our table. We were given menus for afternoon tea to choose drinks.
Approximately 15 minutes later we ordered our drinks and 45 mins after arrival our afternoon tea arrived.

Everything had been pre-made as the food was cold (like it had been in a fridge) sandwich stated on the menu 3 different varieties.
Tuna, cream cheese and chicken and only received 2 of these options. I didn't mention at the time as had waited so long!
Our lovely cup of tea was long gone and would have been cold if we had waited for our food.

Unfortunately they were hugely under-staffed the day we visited. But still seemed to be accepting "walk-ins".

There was no acknowledgement from staff about the delay in food or that the kitchen was really busy.
I noted other tables in the restaurant also waiting to take orders, no check backs and no customer service.
The cream tea itself was ok. Not great value for money at £16.95 per person

Overal disappointed with our choice as this had been recommended to us. And was a special treat for my friend.
