We had an awesome time this morning❤️! Our 11yo son had his first ever surfing 🏄‍♂️ experience and the CBSS staff were absolutely wonderful, helping and supporting him and genuinely celebrating his achievements every step of the way - thanks guys!

The walk back up from the beach carrying the surfboards after a couple of hours in the water is not for the faint hearted though 😬

Coasteering with Scarborough surf school was incredible. We had a puncture on the way and they were kind enough to accommodate us. We traveled to nearby cove and jumped from the cliffs, swam in caves and were joined by countless puffins and razor bills diving for fish. Can’t recommend highly enough!

10 of us from Hornsea Dolphins went Coasteering. Our guides were amazing. We had such fun, some of us were pushed to our limits others not so much.
Would recommend this to anyone who want a challenge and a thrill.

Highly recommend Scarborough surf school. Went for a SUP lesson today with Andy one of the instructors there. I can honestly say enjoyed every minute, friendly and patient and I learnt a great deal in the 2hr lesson. Will definitely be trying other activities they offer. Definitely worth a visit.

I would highly recommend this surf school. They were so amazing and helpful. They were extremely accommodating when I rang to say I was running late. They really looked after my young children who had the best time ever due to the instructors making the experience very fun. I will definitely return the next time I visit Scarborough as its guaranteed to be a great afternoon.

Had excellent customer service every time we have visited both the Cayton & Scarborough shops. Great range of products & advice. Scotty at the Scarborough shop has loads of knowledge about the products & the local surf area, always makes time to chat & give expert advice. Will be visiting again soon

Been online shopping here for decades. Secret Spot has never let me down with boards and wetsuits, yesterday afternoon tore the leg of an already tired suit, ordered an xcel and it was here today, the next morning, Scarborough to Inverness!

Found this great surf by accident, and just loved the clothing on offer, great choice to choose from and high quality, and to top it off the guy who was running the shop (scotty) was an absolute treasure of information, such a nice polite pleasant guy , having a chat with him for over an hour about the local surf, clothing, it’s a rare art these days for a salesman to actually give you the time of day , so for that I give 5* top shop and top guy

This is a proper surf shop, it is well stocked with surfing supplies and not much else.
Although it is possible to buy a coffee and an ice cream in here as well.

Just been in and bought a Dryrobe. Lovely shop, full to the brim of nice stuff. Owner very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely visit again when coming to Scarborough from Durham. Thank you 😊

Amazing services from the guys! Less than 24 hours and I’m surfing again! Ordered a lost surfboard and it arrived before 12 oclock the next day. Extremely well packaged as it’s always on the mind when couriers are handling fragile surfboards. Thanks again. Can’t recommend theses guys enough.

Recently bought a wetsuit and needed a different size. The whole process was super efficient to exchange, with really helpful staff - the warehouse team were straight on it and helped me out when I had a trip away booked.

Me and my friend a great time at a beginners lesson over the Easter weekend. The staff in both the shop and the instructors were great fun, helpful and great teachers. Really good value for money. Not so sure why some individuals have written complaining about carrying the board to the beach, surely this is part of the experience😂 Anyhow. I’d definitely recommend!

My review is a bit of an odd one as it's a failed purchase.
I ordered a waterproof jacket online for next day delivery, unfortunately it was no longer in stock. I know this as secret spot rang me up to advise me of this and offered me a different colour, which I declined as I was after the colour I ordered. They were very apologetic and refunded me straight away with no fuss.

5 stars for excellent customer service, and even though I was unsuccessful today I will certainly be checking them for future purchases.

Shocking attitude of the woman who works here. Instead of realising that she made an incorrect assumption she tried to argue her point by repeating that facilities are only available for people who have paid for the carpark.

She had no interest when I tried to explain I was walking over to my family who were at the seating area and had all bought drinks. Instead she tried to force her statement upon me “for future reference” which was completely irrelevant to the situation as all I wanted was to buy a drink after my walk.

Incidentally she did nothing to challenge the surfers who were parked on the main road but using the shower facilities.

We all left in disgust!

The boarding experience was great however I found the staff not be be very helpful and in fact pretty rude as well, the hire place is on top of the cliff which meant carrying the board down, I only just managed this with a few breaks, I’m not the biggest or strongest of women and I was by myself, I paid £30 for four hours on the board but decided to go back after 2 hours to get up that dreaded cliff, I tried to get up it with the board however I was struggling so I rang the centre (turns out I rang the warehouse) I was very polite on the phone to the man, and I even told him I’d try again at getting up the cliff, to be then told by him that it was because I couldn’t be bothered to carry it up on my own! And that the lady who works there Carries them on her own, I respect this and congratulate that woman for being a lot stronger than me! I wasn’t impressed with how I was spoken to and how I had to argue to get some help coming up the cliff, and this ruined the whole experience for me.

Great place to go Surfing. £5 parking for the day is very reasonable. Love being able to get a warm shower afterwards at the onsite changing facility..

Arrived at Cayton Bay with my family .
There is a toilet outside the surfing Shop available to all public with a small 20p fee to access.
One of the staff members (a young lady) came out of the surfing shop/school to inform me that I can't use the facility because our car wasn't parked there! There were other users who didn't park there either and still used the facility (another couple wasn't impressed and praised me for challenging her decision) but I was denied using the toilets. Very upsetting ; even my 9-years old son wS disgust. I still don't know what was her intention and why we were treated differently to the rest of the people. ?

Had a group lesson with Simon today. Never done it before and really enjoyed it. Nice set up and Simon was great at getting the salient points across. Really pleased that of the 2h lesson we spent more than 3/4 of it in the water. All staff really helpful and great location.
