We had such a great time! We were on 630 and the 1925 car. It was so much fun! I especially enjoyed the turntable and the WYE turn at the end. The staff was extremely nice (even with the Day Out with Thomas craziness) and very helpful. This was my son's first train ride and he had a blast!
We took our two year old grandson who is a little train enthusiast, and this was the best experience ever!!!! The staff went above and beyond to make sure he had the experience of a lifetime!! I wish I was good with names so I could give a special shoutout to the conductor that really brightened our little junior conductor’s day, he didn’t want to leave to go home. We will definitely be returning to do a day with Thomas the train. Thanks!!!!
Brilliant afternoon at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum. The weather was kind - blue sky and sunshine - and while the time spent travelling on the train is quite short the whole experience is well worth it. The informative chat about the turntable along with the work carried out by the workshop is as much fun as the ride!

Fantastic short little railroad adventure. I do recommend the Smoke and Cinders ice cream. Jason does an excellent job with the tour guide and history and happily to answer questions. Answered a bunch of questions unrelated to the prescribed tour. Very personable fellow.
We were in Chattanooga for a family vacation and wanted to take in some of the history of the area. The Missionary Ridge train ride was a great way to do that! We really enjoyed experiencing the turntable demonstration. It was neat to look around at the old engines and cars.
So much fun! My nephews (11 and 13) and I had a wonderful time. We went on the hour long excursion. The history was interesting, the tunnel, exciting and the turn-table, amazing. We also enjoyed the exhibits and walking through the old trains. Can’t wait to go back and take longer train rides!
Took the only trip that was available during my stay in Chattanooga. Just a little one hour trip to Missionary Ridge and back. That was lovely weather, the employees were all very nice and knowledgeable and I had a very enjoyable time. The exhibit building was a little unusual in my opinion. I was expecting it to focus on railroading in Southeast Tennessee, Northwest, Georgia and Northeast Alabama. All I can say is it was more unusual than that. It’s definitely well worth going to see. Some will like it immensely while others can get through the whole exhibit building in 15 minutes or less.
Fantastic end to our family vacation! Loved hearing the history of the area & of the train. We did the Missionary Local which was 65min. We had our 2yr old & 7yr old with us and they both really enjoyed it. The midway stop showed a demonstration of the turn table which is how they are able to turn the cars around and a train restoration shop. Great gift shop! Highly recommend. Ticket prices were reasonable too - $24/adult, $15/child. Under 2 free.
I've gone to the bathroom in worse
It's part of of Norfolk southern railroad and it's for men mostly there are a few women that work there..not alot..but there are women that drive them to there location that use that location to use that restroom only because it has a women restroom and it's nasty..not up par..it smells and not clean at all we clean the toilet outselfs..because we don't know if they even do that there.
It's a railroad alright. Good at doing railroad things. I think if people weren't scared of railroads we wouldn't have to be afraid of them, but I don't know. I appreciate how they put metal bars on top of wood that's pretty cool.
