Great Hike and not for first timers. It has great views and windy up top. It took us almost 8 hours because we had a slow companion with us. Bring water and granola bar/cookies. Also we drank water out of the pond which you will see when you are coming back. We also meet someone who started the hike other way around (FYI, there are tent/hut area where you can stay for a night). Well worth the hike.
Climb to the top of Gros Morne Mountain, I completed this trail last summer and I have to say this is an extremely difficult trail, and I don’t advise new hand to try, especially the last 1km to the top. Start climb from elevation almost sea level, and climb 800m upward in 5km trail, the first 4km rise approximately 300m, and the last 1km will rise totally 500m! Furthermore, the last 1km you must climb on broken rocks, looks like a landslide happened before, and lots of broken rocks all the way on the hill, and we need to climb on those rocks. I spend 5 hours to climb and return from same route, normally people always take a loop which go down from other side, which is farther! I once climbed many mountains, and the only mountain that I think have same difficulty with this one is Mount Teide, the highest mountain in Spain. So to sum up, I don’t advise any new hand to try to climb this mountain, safety first.

We did a 2 hour guided kayak paddle, my first time kayaking. The guide was friendly, told great stories, and made sure we were all at ease and feeling safe the whole time. We even saw a baby eagle as we came under a cliff. It was a wonderful way to experience bonne bay.
Definitely my favourite trail in the west of NF. The trail is not for a bigginers but at the same time it's not very difficult. The good weather is absolutely a must to enjoy it so don't bother if there are clouds as you will not be able to see anything. Once you are the top you will see that top is quite flat so if the clouds/fog is present it may be difficult to navigate. The views start once you cross the top and start your way back. The signs are very few but at the same time there is almost no choice of going off the trail. Have a good footware, backpack with layers, food and water for a day and plan accordingly to your abbilities.
Moderate and then difficult hike - well worth it to do the full loop. You will not regret the difficult scramble areas when you see the views the way down the back side. About 6-7hr hike. Highly recommend!
Satisfying half day hike to the top of Gros Morne Mountain. Hiking boots definitely recommended for this hike.

Started at 7 am on a blue sky day. The first 5 km are along the river with a simple incline. At the base of the mountain you then start a 1.5 km scree climb straight to the top. The loose rocks and incline may be tough for some (especially in the heat). You are rewarded with stunning views of the Long Range Mountains at the top. Totally worth it after the est 1 hour climb.

Coming down the back side of the mountain is more gradual, but the trail is dotted with muddy and rocky sections that can be taxing on your knees.

From start to finish this took the two of us (moderate hiking experience) about 7.5 hours, including short breaks here and there to take in the views/take photos. Wrapping up at around 2:30 left us time to explore more of Gros Morne, as the hike did not completely wipe us.
One of the best hiking trails I've ever been to, the first 4 km is easy then the actual climb starts about 1.8 km up along the rock, when the rocky path finishes, it looks like you're there, not yet but you'll have the best view from here, then walk a few more meters there you are the top of " Gros Morne" 806 m. Take a picture, sit down in one of the rock shelters, it's windy and cold. From here walk around for the return loop, a few meters from the top you'll have an incredible view of the lake below, from here on the descending starts, rocky, wet not so pleasant walk down the trail, but you still can enjoy the view below the valley. Proper shoes are a must, lots of water. It's not wise to go in the late afternoon.
Gros Morne Adventures exceeded our expectations. We did the 6 day hiking trip in August 2023. Accommodations, hikes, guides and meals were amazing. Memorable trip!
Spectacular mountain views. Drive through one of the small towns. They are quaint and welcoming.
The visitor centre is a must see.
Hiking shoes are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Lot of narrow spots throughout the trail. I do not recommend bringing a dog when climbing the mountain. It has breathtaking views and is a very intense hike. But when you're on the top of the summit...... you feel like you're on top of the world. It took us 7 hours to do this hike.
Renting Kayaks from Gros Morne Adventures was a very fun experience! It is great to get out on the beautiful Bon Bay and explore!
We have done the trail twice now. The views are amazing and so worth the hike. Be careful when hiking if there is heat! We thought it was going to be a good day but as we were coming down the mountain it got unbelievably warm and everyone was feeling sick by the end. Pack lots of water!
My wife and I took a 1 hour zodiac tour. The tour was booked with very little notice and we were accomodated quickly. Boyd amd John were great tour guides and Boyd was an excellent captain. It was a great experience with great scenery and it was nice to be on the water!

Went to kayaking with them for the second time. Always great service. Kayak tour guides are very professional and helpful. Overall, they will make sure that you have a great experience. Would love to come back again
We had a great 2 hr paddle with our local guide John. He is a wonderful story teller and very talented paddler. Make sure you stop for a warm cookie and coffee when you get back to shore!
Absolutely incredible hike and if you're an experienced hiker it's a must do. The approach to the mountain is 4.5km and recently reconstructed, it has beautiful views of the mountain and two waterfalls, it's a great hike to do on its own. The second section is a scramble up a steep rocky gulch it's very challenging and the mountain top loop took us about 4 hours. If scrambling up the gulch is not appealing you could go up and back the back of the loop that's intended for the descent.
We started at 4pm. Tip.. don't do that. Don't start after 3pm. Nevertheless, our hike was one of the most memorable experiences ever. Decent hike to the summit of the mountain.. steep slope up is very challenging and testing. Rest of the hike back is long and grueling. Would 100% do it again. Key tip, wait for a sunny clear day to go up, the views are worth it.

Everyone is so nice here, really had a lot of fun with 2 hours sea kayaking, very relaxing and can be challenging too. Great tour guide Matt, he really made sure we are safe. He is really helpful and patient. Thank you😀
