Beautiful hiking. Moderate difficulty.

So this trail wasn't enjoyable partly for geology and partly due to mother nature and partly due to my own body. I'm only in average shape and this was more of a workout than I bargained for (not the trail's fault). We also went during 90-degree heat (partially not the trail's fault). But, some of the worst, steepest, rocky, via-ferrata portions of this trail are in complete sun, no shade (the trail's fault). So keep that in mind. Give yourself more time than you normally need to travel this trail. I also thought the views just barely made the hardships worth the effort. They were pretty great, but not breathtaking. The part of the trail that looks like it goes down to the water's edge really leads you to a cliff overlooking the water, so no need to bring your bathing suit nor get your hopes up for a refreshing swim. GO CLOCKWISE and climb Acadia Mountain first. You do NOT want to do the uphill counterclockwise. Also, the final clockwise leg of the hike is flat and such a great cooldown.

Absolutely beautiful hike. Party of different level hikers and we all made it. Go clockwise if looking for “less” of a challenge. Still lots of stairs. The decent toward bay clockwise was fun scrambles. A bit slippery while wet but worth it. Ocean view the whole way down.

Another one of my favorite hikes! My husband and I got there before 9 a.m. and there was only one other car parked...by the time we left the lot was full so I suggest going early. It was very overcast the day we went, so not much of a view, but it was just such an enjoyable mix of terrain. An absolute treat!

Hermoso lugar !! Lleno de paz con una vista preciosa

Fun bicycle/ hiking trails. The ride uphill was fun, but going down was even better. I enjoyed the carriage bridges, and waterfalls along the route.

Took the family with 5-10 year old kids. They had a blast! Fun and challenging segments. Many parts had skinny stairs or steep angled boulders to climb up/down. Makes the otherwise “short” hike longer, but we had a great time. The view from the top is gorgeous. Bring water. I strongly recommend for families looking for a team challenge.

Great quick hike! If you want a trail that has interesting terrain, great views, and relatively short compared to the other hikes that are more popular, this is the trail for you.

Nice vantage point, but there are better spots at Acadia National Park, in my opinion.

Pretty easy hike. A nice view, but there are nicer views at Acadia National Park. Might be a good option as a "Plan B" if some other hikes/trails are too crowded when you want to go

The crown jewel of the quiet side of Mount Desert Isle. Great views of Somes Sound. Somewhat difficult hike particularly at parts, but a truly great view.

Amazing views on a clear day. Very well marked and well maintained trail. Very steep sections but intricately laid stones make steps that make climbing much easier. Well worth the Atlantic Ocean view from the top.

A somewhat technical hike, away from the main tourist attractions. Some rock scrambling required.

It’s not easy trail and there’s places where you have to use both hands to climb. But the view is wonderful! The altitude is about 200 meters (600feet). 2hours for the loop.

Acadia Mountain and Man O War Trail is a 2.5 mile loop trail
located near Southwest Harbor, Maine that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, running, nature trips, and horses and is accessible year-round.
Pretty heavy accent. 600 plus foot elevation. Very good marked but steps are no joke!
Trail located on west side of Acadia National Park.
Parking is as always, very limited.

Medium challenge hike. Great views of the Somes Sound from the top. The only Fjard in the US. Not as crowded as many other areas on the East Side of Mount Desert Island.

An amazing hike with fewer crowds and stunning views at the summit as well as on the descent. Not sure why people don’t all come here just for the name of it? I highly recommend.

Started off on the carriage trail, but once I saw the sign on the side of the trail, I decided to check it out, and I was very happy that I did. At the summit, you can wait for a beautiful sunset and then take a shorter, easier trail down. Next time, however, I will backtrack to some of the other trails for some more scenery, as well as a good workout.

This was the only main hike I did while at the park and the view did not dissapoint. I would it is moderately easy, probably taking 60-90 minutes roundtrip. Parking is very limited so keep that in mind and be careful crossing the road as cars travel fast.

Great and relatively easy afternoon hike. There's are a few places along the trail where you need to scramble up, but nothing terrible. A lot of people brought their dogs on the trail as a reference. It is not a terribly long hike, so definitely a good one to do if you want to get the heart rate up without exhausting yourself. Nice views at the top as well.

Both carriage roads and hiking trails are accessible from here. Nordic skiing in winter.
