So beautiful place for hiking, moderate
Hard packed limestone trail system, perfect for walking, running or cycling
Beautiful trail with lots of stops and 34 km long all the way from Collingwood to Meaford one way.
Cave point summit is worthwhile!

It's a great place to visit. The trail is a little bit challenging in spots because there's lots of tree roots sticking up out of the ground and very uneven ground to walk on. But the rock face part of the trail is truly amazing to see first hand. It truly is we're seeing at least once. Parking is a little bit limited. Basically you're parking on the side of the road. There is no parking lot. It's also not very clearly marked from the road. Pay very close attention to Google maps. You may drive right past the entrance.

We hiked the Bayview Escarpment Side Trail. The 1.8 mile portion of the trail is very easy but the later 2.7 miles is a challenging trail of rock and varying elevations. Definitely not for those with knee or mobility issues . The views of the many crevices and rocks in this section is worth the hike! We had sun, snow, rain, and hail during the 3 hour trek.
This is a great walk from the harbor in Meaford through a beautiful wooded area. Very well maintained walking/cycling trail. Most cyclists share the trail properly although there are some that treat the trail as a race track
It's good trail for hiking, running and biking. It's across from harbour and marine. It extends to Collingwood.
Beautiful trail starting down at the harbor. Plenty of scenic views along the water.
The view of the lighthouse against the sunset is marvelous.
The trail is also a convenient walkway from the heritage district to downtown.
Wonderful scenic trail for biking, walking, with plenty of nice places to stop. Thornbury, Craigleith, Meaford are all great small towns with plenty of charm and good food to refuel. Check out the Old Mill in Thornbury for a truly picturesque lunch. Wander off trail to see native wildflowers and the beautiful ecology of Georgian Bay. People on the trail are often courteous and friendly. Great for nature lovers and kids.
The beginning of the Georgian Trail which goes through Thornbury and ends in Collingwood. This train track bed trail is great for running, walking and cycling and for cross-country skiing and snow shoeing in the winter. The prettiest part is the Meaford/Thornbury section which is well treed and shady. However, it does begin on either end with a hill, but that just means that when you're tired of pedalling and think you can't go on you are happily coasting along.
