Super wonderful little trip through the city. Technically we started a the beginning of The North End Italian district by Dalutis? This neighborhood is utterly charming, Full of old world charms , lovely chic eateries with flower boxes and wine glasses and cloth napkins beautifully perched on tables awaiting diners , and then through the historic cemetery with the amazing views and ancient hand carved tombstones circled with daffodils , then around to the historic churches and brick plazas, and ends in the historic Irish? Areas near the Arm and Bell? And the Oyster house. Check out the Boston Market on a weekend with the booming voices and music and fresh and not so fresh smells. A true Boston experience.
The trail is very convenient for seeing the main attractions of the city. I recommend you do the trail
The trail was 3 miles long, easy to follow with a line on the pavement all the way, gentle walk with a few easy hills, interesting historical sites with signage, plenty of places to stop and eat, unique architecture and good look at the North End and surrounding areas. We came in February and found it a pleasant walk which you could do quite quickly or stroll along at your own pace. A lot of the places were closed this time of year which was surprising as we saw so many people trying to get into the North End church which just seemed crazy it wasn’t open. On the positive side of visiting in winter was the trail wasn’t to busy, sight were easy access, no crowds for photos and not too hot. Well worth an afternoon. Enjoy
I'm glad I went with a tour guide. His insights and humor made it worth it. I didn't have a lot of time so having a guide made it easy and quick to learn some of the history of Boston. We did 11 of the 15 stops in about 1.5 hrs. It was about a 1.5 mile walk. I recommend
The tour was excellent. Jeremiah Poope was a great tour guide! Very funny yet very informative! The sites were incredible, a good way to learn and sew Boston rather than running around alone, huzzah!

This is a fun walk for when you are visiting Boston! It took us almost 6 hours with lunch, reading the plaques, and visiting some museums. You can do it quicker too! It’s well-marked, but can get quite crowded.
Great experience of history of Boston. Highly recommend all the stops. Follow the red bricks and markers at each stop
A viewing tower to see the salt marsh and some lovely Fall colours. A great place for plane spotting as it's under the approach to Logan airport.

A lovely place to stroll. The salt-water marsh is completely different terrain than just a few miles away. It's a nice place to go for a walk and spot wildlife.

Did the self guided freedom trail tour using the national park service audio and guide tour. You will walk all over the city but it's a nice way to see key areas in the city.
The Freedom trail is marked by a yellow brick path at the top of the park where you can see the Massachusetts State House (gold roof) on Beacon and Bowdoin where you begin the walk. You’ll really want to make a full day of the walk, as there is sooo much to experience. Some parts of the trail are not friendly for wheelchairs or baby carriages because the sidewalk is PACKED and in some parts narrow. Toward the end of the trail you walk through Little Italy. Definitely take the opportunity to grab some lunch or dinner, as the food and smells are just heavenly.
It's good. Remember it's going to take you from one side of town through the other. You want to pass some communities that really doesn't have anything to do with the freedom trail, but it's just kind of showing you through the city. It's a good walk. Very short. It's only two and a half miles out. There are some areas where the streets are small sidewalks or small, but you can deviate from that and go into a little in the other little small communities and get food trinkets whatever you want. But just know if you go in the summer it'll be a lot of people walking that same trail both ways

Nope - this is a path you traverse right through the city while seeing/stopping at places of historic interest. So, enjoy your walk through Boston!

Had super cool days here. And some days were fine.
Wait here for a walking tour of the freedom trail. Our guide was fantastic and gave us a lot of interesting information we hadn't heard before it's supposed to just the standard things you here on a lot of tours. I would love to have had a tour that did the whole trail but doing 1/2 one day and the other half another day works out really.
Great way to see Boston's historical places.
Loved the experience. We did the self paced audio tour through Viator app and it was well worth it. What is said to be about 1.5 hours self paced took us 4 hours due to the fact that you can move at your own speed, stop when you want to stop and take as long as you want to view the history and stop and eat along the way. While I'm sure the tour guided groups is great, this is a fantastic option as well for visitors to Boston. Public restrooms are a little scarce but there are restrooms at Boston Common starting point and at Quincy Market. If you stop at any of the museum sites, there are restrooms there once you pay to enter. Definitely an experience worth your time.
Lots of trails and great place to take dogs for a walk (on leash).
From the entrance at the corner of Frankfort St and Lovell St., to the fence gate at the beach exit is exactly 1.25 kilometers. If you want to run a 5K, run this stretch back and forth two times and you've got it!
Love this place for birdwatching. Nice place to catch some nature even though it is so near the airport. Good picnic place too.
The Blue Line I was riding back from Revere went out of service at Orient Heights and the shuttle busses were taking way too long to help, so I stumbled across Belle Isle Marsh and couldn't have been more pleased!

A fantastic thing to do if you’re in Boston! It was awesome to get to walk through all the major parts of Boston and see all the best sights. Absolutely recommend, especially if you like history and architecture!
Interesting solution for sightseeing tour : just follow the red line and you can visit all the famous places in a short time, appr. 3 hour !

The Freedom Trail is only 2.5 mlles long but we spent all day walking around and still didn’t see everything. There is so much interesting History to see and read. I would recommend spending a FULL day to see everything

Beautiful place in east Boston. Easy fun trails with well placed picnic tables. Just go in the cooler months or cover up as the mosquitoes are unreal.
