Outstanding walking and biking trail. Nice scenery and shade and dog friendly.

Having just moved to Spartanburg about 1.5 years ago, we are just learning about and enjoying the great trail resources in the area. Our first experience was walking the River Birch Trail that connects the Cottonwood Trail and The Dan (right behind Willy Tacos. In fact, a side trail leads to Willy Tacos.). A beautiful walk of about an hour in duration - depending upon your pace - through neighborhoods and mostly under a nice, shady tree canopy. The trail is broad enough to easily accommodate walking groups in both directions. The trail and the bridges are well maintained and it is apparent that local businesses and individuals have invested materially to provide this resource to the community. We will definitely return and also enjoy other options in the Spartanburg Trail System.
Great trial! But every time we go there’s trash everywhere!

Nice addition to the local trails that run through the city and beyond. Everything is new and clean and unobstructed to make the trail a nice walk and views. It's hot in the summer so early morning or later in the day might be better walk. Good job Spartanburg. Thank you for the trails.

This is a great trail.

1: It is a great place to get exercise, its nice and shady.

2: Its also very peaceful with the river along side of you.

Really enjoyed the beautiful and tranquil walk along the river. Not too crowded, very secluded, and no traffic noise. Perfect for walking with your pup!

Love this place. I parked on the East side end and the gravel hill is a little hard to maneuver with no hand rails, it's easy to slide and hard to get back up. Rode it 2x (back and forth) on my bike. Someone had created the cutest little scene on the side. Made my day.

Such a beautiful calming place. I take my dog and he can't get enough either. Have been several times even though it's a 15 minute drive from my house.
Very nice trails! My family and I love going there
This trail is awesome, it's concrete, you can walk, jog, run or ride a bike. Very kid friendly and pet friendly. Easy trail, it's shaded and it's next to a river.
