Great, well-marked hiking trails! Very friendly, helpful staff. Nice clean bathrooms.
Large open meadows. Huge area of thistles and wildflowers busy with bees. I can’t imagine how it will be when thistles go to seed for the goldfinches. Beautiful trails and picnic areas. The park ranger in the nice gift shop was very nice.
SO MUCH FUN! The office and gift shop are really nice and offer a good break from the hot outside. The North Ridge Trail is really steep but offers wonderful views, and the piedmont overlook trail takes you through a field with cows grazing. We did those two together and it was a nice, but rather difficult, loop!
Sky meadows has been my winter training place for 2 years now. Great for running, cycling, hiking and horseback. Make sure to visit lost mountain across the ways too. The video was of a 19 mile run of the AT rollercoaster section and I have to say coming into sky meadows was the best way to end that run. Clean restrooms, cold water!
We attended the Great American Camp Out & had a fantastic time despite the high temperatures. The event was amazing, low cost & great activities for the whole family. Each staff member I encountered (most every one) were very pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable & just great human beings! This park is absolutely beautiful, well maintained, with stunning views from every direction. The head ranger, Erin, is to be recognized for organizing such a great event & keeping the park well maintained!
Great place for a hike and picnic. There are great views from the overlook. There are several path options to select via the map that u pick at the entrance. Restroom are located close to the visitor center so be sure to use prior to ur hike. Be sure to bring your own snacks/ lunch.
Enjoyed backpacking. Perfect for beginners as the campground is only 1 mile in. Was not busy in the middle of the week. Would recommend for walking, hiking, and primitive camping! Also had bathroom, non-potable water, and option to check in after hours depending on availability for camping.
They charged $10 per day and it was totally worth it. We hiked for about 2 hours and also went to the historic sites. We enjoyed it.

Absolutely on the beautiful and varied side of a state park. The elevation makes it special on the east coast. It's well manicured, clean, and very pretty.

This place is amazing. Plenty of hiking trails. Also the views are amazing. It is what it says it is. Meadows that are up high. Definitely a different kind of viewpoint from what I’m used to in this area. Also they have a clean toilet.

We couldn't explore the full extent of the park's offerings this time, but the camping experience is already on our bucket list for the next visit. From what we've seen and experienced so far, we know it's going to be another date with nature’s grandeur.

By far the most beautiful state park I have visited in Virginia. The varied topology and splendid lush green meadows comforts the feet like a carpet. There are plenty of trails, we started on the Piedmont trail followed by the North Ridge trail to South Ridge before merging back to Boston Mill Road.
The entire experience was a WoW.

First time here today, extremely scenic and peaceful trails (dog friendly too), with blooming eastern redbud all over the rolling hills. Can’t wait to come back for more hiking and family friendly activities. PS: paid online since no staff at the park entrance to collect the fees.
Lots of great trails and some good hills to get your blood pumping. I enjoy the combination of historic farm and forest preserve. The trails are really well marked and the map is great too. Other parks should learn from Sky Meadow. All the park rangers and staff were friendly. It’s convenient and quick trip from dc metro area. $10 to enter and park.
