Very scenic with a diversity of plants, and most especially, wild blackberries in bloom. It is hot as most of the trail is not shaded, but truly worth it.

Excellent place for hunting
If you do any trails beyond the small hammock trail that borders the RV campsite, this is the other one you should do. Going through the hammocks is the best part because of the shade and change of view. If you like the peace that comes from the prairie views, you’ll enjoy the wide open space too, but I really liked the shade offered by the hammocks, that was the best part of the trail! Only takes a few hours depending on your pace and everyone likes bringing their dogs on the trail. Watch out for droppings on the trail, I think horses travel around here too from time to time.
If you want a wide open side of the prairie, this is where you can go to get it! South of the campsite, you can get here directly from the tiny loop trail that goes through the small hammock that’s right next to the Rv campsite. Great way to start the morning and get a breath of fresh air!
The Prairie Loop Trail takes one through two separate hardwood hammocks with sweeping views of the prairie. There is are primitive campsites about 2.5 miles into the trail with picnic table and shelter.
