Wanted to visit this place from the day I heard of this place. Not entered inside as its a in-house Temple and I was sweaty and unbathed...Place is more sanctified by Visit of Swami Vivekananda in 1862 hosted by Subrai Naik...AUM.

The reason why Margao stands strong!! Commercial Capital of Goa, even after years of Portuguese torture has stood strong over the period of time beach of this Temple, this Prince/King! Very few will know that Damodar was actually the Name of (Mathagramast) Margao’a Prince/King, who got defeated in a while protecting his Wife from another Prince/King!! King Damodar was humble yet People friendly King. He was very popular, thus following his Death, Madgaonkar Honoured him by worshipping him and built a temple for him. Jagruth devastating, which was shifted to Zambaulim, when Portuguese were breaking temples in Salcete. All of this has been shared from elderly Mathgramast, from generations to Generation.

Good atmosphere
Let's be very clear: I couldn't find any of the devotees/ priests/Lord's Family during my half an hour stay inside the temple. Everything was neat & clean, DEEPAKs were glowing amidst the holy-fragrance. Claimed historical facts may be true but lot things missing to regain, to glorify the LORD. Decision is yours visit or not.

This temple is located at the Fatorda stadium back road. It holds very significant value and observes alot of devotees .A lot of fairs happen here and people visit them with utmost devotion and joy.

There is parking problem as this place is next to the main road.

The temple is situated beside a very busy highway but yet you feel peace of mind when you are inside. Specially, on days other than Monday, it is too calm.

Lord shree Damodar is a jagrut Devasthan of Fatorda & entire Goa. Do visit temple at least once in a lifetime to fulfill all your wants.

Really good place to visit ul always get a holy feeling silent surrendering and cool weather surrounded with the lawn and greenary beautiful temple with amazing interior there ul find a stage opposite to this temple. And a urban cooprative bank is there near this temple good parking area mostly cars of the ppl living around park there
A small shrine of Lord Damodar is famous throughout the city and is sanctified by SWAMI VIVEKANANDA in 1892. This temple is maintained by a prosperous family which is actually their house deity. This place is one of the few sites where Swami Vivekananda visited during his tour to Goa. The moment you enter this house -cum - temple , you will see an inscription reminding about the above fact. Every night a half an hour musical program is held which is totally devoted to Lord Damodar.
According to a legend, when the Portuguese attacked the Hindu temples of Margao(then Mathagram) , the Lord of the city Lord Damodar was taken away and was brought to this site . The deity stayed there for some time and then was shifted to Zambaulim where the present temple stands.
So do visit this "heritage" site!!

On usual days it's not a frequented place. Divine feelings. Quiet place of worship. Must visit temple...
