This Target is fine. They don't have a wide selection, but the staff is attentive and the store is organized pretty well.

Palettes in the aisles, workers trying to restock the items I’m buying as I’m shopping, and a small size make this target feel more like a small, poorly provisioned warehouse than a store.

Very small store. Do no plan to go here unless it is for some small or quick items. Came in from out of town and expected a regular target so was very surprised by the limited options. Also prepare to pay for parking if you stay over an hour. Seems great for a quick stop but not for a regular target shopping experience. I wish the website had posted that. We drove out of our way to come to this one.

Janine was very friendly and helpful while I was visiting the store. I appreciated her warmness!

This is one of the worst targets I’ve ever been to Staff is uncouth everything is locked up I asked the girl Samaya with assistance to unlock the deodorant. She never came back then there were no one working the registers.

They’ve locked up everything from dental hygiene products to underwear. They had put some sensors but now they have taken them off as of the weekend of May 17, 2024. Because it is Target policy to have basically a skeleton crew, there is almost nobody tending to the register.

This is the type of store where you arrive with a list of four items, but they only have one of them and it is locked behind a cabinet with no one to unlock for you. Literally every time.

Terrible mess in the women's clothes section, very little stock and even worse with the selection of sizes. I may like the snacks, but I wasn't impressed either. One of the worst targets I've ever seen in my life. Compared to other states, e.g. California, where it is an almost luxury store, there is a problem at every step. WHY DO YOU NOT SUPPORT INTERNATIONAL CARDS? The cashier asked if I had any money 🤣🤣🤣 it was quite awkward and inappropriate, since Europein VISA is not supported by your checkout.

I like to visit this target since it’s so close to my home, but it frequently doesn’t have what I need which can be a bummer. But it’s usually clean and quiet and pleasant. I’ve stopped going recently though because there is a man who works there (I assume in the electronics?) who makes me uncomfortable. He never is dressed like a Target employee, and he awkwardly asks about my cell phone provider in random areas of the store - today I was in the TOY section. When told we’re not interested he becomes combative and tries to convince me to continue the interaction so I ended up having to walk away to get away from him. His demeanor and client service skills are severely lacking, and It’s off putting that he’s not dressed like an employee, and it’s made visiting this target uncomfortable.

Laerika at the guest services and Elena the new woman at the checkout need a raise. Honestly made my day a lot brighter and my experience easier. Happy that I can shop at target with such nice employees

Target, how do you expect to stay in business if you lock up all the items and there’s no one to ever unlock the items for paying customers? The call buttons don’t even work. Never anyone at the registers for help or returns. I have stopped going.

The power was out in our neighborhood for a few hours so we took the entire family to this target. And it was awesome! The store is clean, has everything, and you can kill a lot of time buying stuff you “need” and then stuff for the house too.

This Target has always been meh and keeps getting worse. If you can find an employee, they are friendly. But good luck finding one! If you do, they’re run ragged stocking a huge section that ought to be a team effort. Need to check out? You get to wait for one of two working self checkout kiosks. Want to buy deodorant? Too bad. A third of the merchandise is now locked up. Push a button for assistance, the signs say. I tried 3 times. I waited a few minutes. When I walked around the ONLY staff in that half of the store were the pharmacy team. The only other staff on the floor were restocking or installing a new security camera. There is such a thing as TOO much security when you don’t bother staffing up enough to help customers buy things! I think Target knows they can phone it in because this is a useful location but it’s been underwhelming for years.

No carts, messy design, a clearance section full of items that aren't on sale, target circle coupons not being accepted, AND you have to use the self-checkout (no choice, no separate lines).
The register forces you to get an employee of you purchase any sale items (what's the point of self checkout ?!?), which takes forever.
Management gets defensive when you call out poor service, so I won't be surprised if some generic "we care" comment gets posted in response to this review.
I love Target and love DC. Unfortunately, this is possibly the worst Target in all of the DMV.

Very organized store. Well stocked too!
(Only complaint I have is that they seemed understaffed before Christmas and the lines were crazy long. But I understand that was probably special circumstances due to the many holiday shoppers.)

used to love this store but the shoplifting by others has negatively impacted the experience of paying customers. i often look online to check if an item is in stock and the last few times i’ve gone, my items are not there (presumably shoplifted). also, many other items are locked (including socks and underwear) up so i’m not sure how convenient it is to actually shop here when you have to find someone with a key. i know the workers are trying their best and i’ve never had a bad experience with them but i primarily use this store now to return shipped items because i cannot walk to pick them up when i need them.

I just needed laundry detergent and deodorant. Should have taken less than 10 minutes from walking in to walking out. Instead I waited twice for lockers to be unlocked, gave up on deodorant altogether, and had to flag down someone for laundry detergent. Nearly every time I visit this Target I leave with only half of my list due to locker waits, out of stock items, or some other random problem. Why don't you stock dry cat food?? I know small format stores always have their issues but this one is something else.

Warning- They charge a 50 cents "bag fee" for every on-line order pick up, even when they do not use a bag. I picked up an order today and they just handed me the item. I'm all for not using plastic bags, but it's not fair to charge people a 50 cents "bag fee" when they do not even use a bag. I wonder how much $ this Target has been collecting from people for bogus "bag fees" over the past decade?

The Great Target is Amazing Atmosphere, Outstanding customer Service, the whole Building was clean,The Products were Awesome,i really loved the Video Game Section seeing all the Great Games, Amazing Prices for them too,i took a couple of Pictures here of Super Mario Bros, Pokemon, and More:)

Oftentimes, the people make the experience. That was the case in my first trip to this Target location.
In reading other reviewers' displeasure with empty shelves, I can say I did notice that too, but they had all of the necessities that we needed. We had also placed an online order for several items, and the order was complete, ready, and organized.
When I needed assistance while shopping, the gentlemen working in the beer section ably answered my questions.
And Felicia at customer service? She was amazing. Her welcoming charm and effective service really made our stop a great one.

This is the most unorganized, run down Target in the US. Nothing is stocked correctly. They are always out of items and cannot stock the right items. All the medicine is locked up. Had trouble getting a gift card and no one could help me. The self checkout froze and the Target team members did not know what to do. Worthless help. Everything at the Columbia Heights Target is 15% higher than other Targets in the area. How dare you prey on people that live here. We make less and have to spend more. I only go here when I absolutely need something, otherwise stay away from the worst Target in the US.

If I could give 0 I would… the product in the baby section is so unorganized to the point I picked up a box of pull ups that were scattered everywhere; I went to the register and the manager who is skinny, tall, with twist or old braids, and brown skin not sure of her name told me that even though the section looks a mess and she agreed it was all in the wrong section! She still did not take or reduce the price. This is exactly why I chose to shop further out of Dc because managers/ people do not understand customer satisfaction and that it is not our fault that the workers misplace items.

Not a full flagship location, there's limited groceries, clothing, household goods along with a pharmacy. There are occasions the prices are inaccurate versus what's advertised online and all the staff I've encountered for assistance, demeanor is as if they don't want to work there. Like asking questions is an inconvenience, definitely not customer service oriented.

Surprisingly satisfying Target despite its small size. I found all 11 out of 12 items I was looking for. I've gone to bigger Target locations that didn't have most of what I was looking for. The queue was long towards closing time, but staff were quick to increase the number of cashiers.

The following occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022 when I went to the Georgia Avenue mini Target to pick up an order that my wife placed online:
[After waiting in a long line, I approached the clerk, a surly young woman. She does not make eye contact or say anything.]
Me: Hi, I am picking up an online order.
[The clerk looks around as if miffed by my purpose, but says nothing. She notices that I am holding a bottle of shampoo.]
Clerk: You want to pay for that?
Me: Sure, but can you please get my online order?
[Visibly agitated, the clerk mumbles something and looks around. It seems as though she needs a small tablet that another clerk is using, but does not explain anything to me. It also seems she is having a bad day, and, of course, I cannot possibly guess the cause of her agitation, so I remain patient.]
Clerk: You want to pay for that?
Me: Sure.
Clerk: $6.33. [I tap my card.]
Clerk: You want a bag?
Me: I was just going to put it in the bag with my online order.
[Visibly agitated by my renewed request, the clerk walks away and says something to the other clerk, who hands her the tablet.]
Clerk: Name?
Me: [I say my name and spell it because it is unusual].
Clerk: Huh?
Me: [I repeat the spelling. She walks off without saying anything. The clerk returns with two bags, one of them I assume is for someone else because my wife ordered only a set of washcloths and two pharmacy products.]
Clerk: Excuse me. [Rudely, to another customer in line.]
Me: [Looking in the larger bag the clerk extends toward me, which contains several gray bath towels:] These are supposed to be washcloths.
Clerk: No, they're not.
Me: Ok. [Questioning myself for about 2 seconds.]
Clerk: [To another clerk:] I'm going on break.
At his point, I looked back and saw the long line for the online order pickup desk. Rather than get in that line to await another clerk to make an exchange, I decided to just keep the bath towels and purchase the $2.50/each washcloths from self-checkout. However, when I went to the shelves, it looked like Hurricane Ian blew through and I cannot find the washcloths that the website says are in stock. I texted this story to my wife. She laughed and pointed out that we got bath towels for $2.50 a piece.
Honestly, I am not even mad, but just stunned that a business can be operated in such a manner. I'll be back because I don't want to have to drive to the full Target in Wheaton, but I doubt I'll ever use the online ordering function again.
Photo: These are not $2.50 washcloths, but $9 bath towels. Confused dog for scale.

poorly managed target.. no one knew answers for anything. customer service was poor. stocking issues in all the aisles. boxes everywhere.. the food items especially bread section don’t have best before stickers on them. when questioned, they just saw each other faces. poorly managed.

This store opened a couple years ago and it’s always nice and clean. The day I went after work the store must have just received a truck because there were boxes of product on most of the aisles. But this store is generally very clean and organized. This isn’t a normal sized target though, it’s definitely smaller and has more of a convenient store type feel. But all of the normal Target staples are still there. There is parking under the store and it’s accessible using the escalators or elevator. There is a Starbucks as well. It’s a great store to visit!

Small but fairly well provisioned food section, with both snack foods and some home groceries, heavy on the convenience foods. Prices are high but better than other stores in the area. Conveniently open until 11 p.m. on Saturdays, in an area where other stores close at 9 or 10, but it closes earlier on other days of the week. Free parking with store validation.
Downside: Service was sparse and heavily dependent on self-service—there were no employees on the floor helping customers, and of three employees around the checkout counter, only one was operating a register, quite lackadaisically.

This Target Store is well-lit with wide aisles. I went there on a Sunday evening. Some of the shelves were empty from Saturday shoppers. I wanted to buy Figi Water but they were sold out. I am impressive by the organic selection of groceries. The parking was plentiful the day and time that I went.

Great small format Target in a really accessible part of Cleveland Park (and just steps from the Metro stop). Impressed with their selection of fresh foods. Nice home goods section too. Unique underground store. Really friendly employees! I will certainly be back.

Ever since this Target added self-checkout, they've relied solely on it. At most, they open only one regular checkout line if self-checkout gets long. Better off going to the CVS across the street.
10/7/19 update: this place either needs to solve their self-checkout problem or open up more than one regular cash register
