We booked the open top small boat trip for 1 hour and it was great, our skipper was great and the boat only contained 7 of us. We learnt all about the history of Amsterdam and took some of the smaller canals in the city including bending over to fit under a bridge!! Would 100% recommend paying a bit extra for this amazing experience.
Really fun!! Would recommend going on weekdays in the early afternoon / late morning so the canal isn’t busy and you can relax.
Went on a small open boat. The fact that it’s a small boat is nice because you can go on the smaller canals. Our captain was very nice and friendly but unfortunately he spent the entire ride mostly talking to (or rather flirting with) one of the passengers and therefore didn’t really give us much information about what we were seeing… especially in comparison to other canal cruises I have been on.

This was the HIGHlight of the trip!!!!! If we lived in Amsterdam I think we would ride this every day haha. It’s such a chill ride. For comparison we also did the lovers canal tour and this was way more comfortable, although if you want an educational tour this isn’t for you lol. I recommend bringing your own pre-rolled things to enjoy just so you don’t have to roll on board & can have better quality than what is there. You do get a lot of looks from other people on different boats, but just because they are jealous they couldn’t be in smoke boat 😂😁 all the employees we encountered were super friendly. My only complaint is they didn’t have merch to buy because I would have!
Nice but only in English, no earphones and no language selections anymore. Explaining sound and the places were not well synchronized at least for our tour. This is our second Stromma after 6 yrs. Still nice ships fully covered with glass / plexi. Dont recommend during rain as the only pics you can take are shadowed with raindrops on covering glasses. Good that they put handheld wipers on every sitting group. Departs at every 15 mins in front of Centraal Station and takes around an hour, they also have 75 min tours from Leidseplein but less frequent. Better buy your ticket online for any time slot earlier and be at the station at least 10-15 mins ago to get a good spot, we preferred very back as it was dome shaped with better visibility (but rain ruined it most)
Amazing chilly tour around Amsterdam’s must see places the host is very nice and the boat wasn’t so full so we could sit inside or outside while enjoying the tour
Great boat tour if you just want to chillax, would love if they started giving facts about smoking/weed in Amsterdam but I suppose it’s more for chilling, all in all had a great time

Small open boat, just a few people, was able to go into smaller canals. Very good guide, entertaining. We enjoyed this early evening tour very much.

This was a very informative tour! We did this tour on a slightly rainy day and it was perfect because there are tons of windows and we had almost a 360° view. It was a nice way to see parts of the city that we had not seen before. You also ride by the Anne Frank house.
Very nice! You can smoke inside aswell as on the outside of the boat while it travels. Friendly Crew. The boat has got a minibar and mostly you can get your tickets pretty spontaneously. Consider not going though if you get seasick easily (especially from all the smoke).
Smoke Boat is one of the best ways how to explore Amsterdam on canals and the bonus is you can just sit on board and have some nice joints there. It's also great that you possibly will meet people from all around the world and that makes the experience even better! Also be ready that smokeboat brings attention, so people from other boats or shore watch and admire from distance, but don't worry, it's fun 😄 .. Wouldn't mind to go again soo, totally recommended!
UPDATE: I sent an email to Smoke Boat Amsterdam and they rescheduled our boat tour. It was really a great experience. It was very relaxing, the boat was cozy and warm and the view was absolutely stunning. Doing the tour at night to see the city lights has its own charm. And they have blankets! Totally recommend.
Bad experience. We got there 7 mins late (this part we know is our fault obvs) but the crew did not even care about us or what we tried to say. Simply said there is no way to reschedule and left us there. We lost 55€ just like that. The whole situation felt shady.

Loved this tour!
We had the right amount of history and time to look at our surroundings.
Our tour captain made sure to add additional info whenever he could and made sure to answer any questions if they came up. Lots of fun details and spend some time to sit with the wife.
