A free observation deck in Rosslyn, Arlington providing 360 views of DC. While not as spectacular as the Washington Monument, it is a very cool place to visit with wide halls and an outdoor deck area to relax.

To enter, one just needs to show a government-issued ID, go through a metal detector, and have a bag check before riding the elevator 400 feet up!

Fantastic views!!! And it’s FREE🦦we went on a Sunday afternoon and very few people were there. There is a glassy balcony that is great for photos. Couldn’t recommend and appreciate more

Very conveniently located right outside of Rosslyn Metro! Take the elevator to the 31st floor and take in the great sites in the DMV. From the National Cathedral alllllll the waaaayyyyy around to Tysons Corner! The 360 view is amazing! And surprisingly enough...its FREE for all to see:)

Incredible views of DC (The National Mall), as well as the Pentagon and you can see the planes landing at Reagan Airport. A must visit. And it's FREE.
Some work was done to improve it, and now Spring has brought tall grass, flowers, and animals grazing there frequently.
We visited from Georgia and loved this place! It’s free and it’s a gorgeous view. It gives you a great panoramic idea of the DC area. Definitely a must-do item on the DC tourist list!

The View was total empty and the view to Washington DC was wonderful. It is free but you need to show your ID for the records, and they control your bag. It is not allowed to bring your own food and drinks to up. The elevator is exciting. You can see the Pentagon Building, CIA Building, Tycoons and more.

Grossartiger 360’-Blick über DC und Arlington. Unmittelbare Nähe zur Metro. Normalerweise nichts los!
Ruta para trotar y ver la naturaleza.

You can't bring food or drink up with you, even in your backpack, so plan ahead. We were able to leave our items at the security desk, but they weren't secured or anything. The ride up in the glass front elevator gives you a great view and the almost 360* view from the top is worth the trip. This would be an ideal place for someone to start their tour of the area, especially with a local to point out all the landmarks.
If you cannot find the place so I help you the way how to find this. Let search go to the main entrance Roslyn Station. Now, see opposite the entrance, your left side is MacDonald, middle is space area and the right side is the building, that building is "The View of DC".

Trust me don't miss the place, it is very beautiful and amazing.
I recommend going to it on a sunny day.
It is free, The security guy needs your ID for security of course

It is called
The View of DC
Look for that to get in.
Beautiful place with a nice viewing deck. Plenty of ducks swimming around, even a beaver house, but didn't see a beaver yet. In sunni days, the lake shows beautiful reflections of the trees. Come and see it, take few photos and learn about how wetlands clean our water.

UPDATE - Sparrow Pond is being re-done by Arlington County and they are planning on keeping beavers out of the pond.
---------------------------------------
Original review >>> Stop by early in the morning and you might catch a glimpse of the beavers hard at work. Many species of birds visit as well. FYI - The picture showing muddy water in Four Mile Run (urban stream after a storm) was not taken at Sparrow Pond. Sparrow Pond is approximately 350 yards to the east and it does not interact with water from Four Mile Run.

A good place to get some good picture s
A great place to stop along the Four Mile Run Trail, get off the path and see the river. It is a good sized deck and it is far enough from Glebe Rd that you do not hear the traffic. When the tide is high or here has been a good rain the river can be high. You can see the inlet on the other side of the river where they can be some interesting wild life.
A nice spot to stop along the trail. A good sized deck where you can take a break and watch the birds in the pond.
