It’s a short and easy hike to the lookout point where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the mountain range.

A fairly easy walk to the lookout, good views all round. It was very dry when we went there. You pass through a variety of climate zones during the walk.

40 min walk return from car park, no shade at the top, so hot 🥵 for a summer day. Plenty of mountains view🏔

Well worth the short walk up a small steep rise to an amazing view from the destination.

A terrific little walk. It’s a short climb to a well-built viewing platform. Even though it’s little over 1km from the highway, it feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere. There are wonderful views across to Frenchmans Cap and to the other side a glacial valley. Well worth the stop.

This is a really great walk, with a great views at the end of it. Make the effort to participate in one of Tasmania’s sixty short walks. The walking trail is very easy, starts off on a flat even rocky quartz road. You then turn right and it is now more of a trail. We went just after rain so it was a little sloshy and the timber slats that are there to assist with the wet weather have seen better days. While the timber slats needs replacing, the trail was still fine to walk on and still very easy. As you are heading up to the look out it is a gradual climb. My wife and I are in our fifties and my wife by her own admission would say she is not fit in the slightest… we found this trail easy walking. You walk through some really nice covered forest then come to a clearing and you start to enjoy your view. The last section is a timber structure with a few stairs for your 360 degree look out, which includes the Franklyn river. The weather in Tassie is so unpredictable, it was slightly raining when we went and we weren’t sure how good a view we would get, as you can see it stopped raining and we got a great view well worth the walk. Parking is easy, you could get a car and van in here no worries. No toilets here though…

Nice walk up through some varied terrain including a bit of rainforest to a cute lookout on top of the hill. It was cold, wet and windy when we walked up so we didn’t stay at the top for more than a few minutes but it was worth it to get the 360 degree views of mountains and the river below. It was a bit muddy on the path but relatively easy to navigate wearing sneakers.

Do this walk! One of the best lookouts in Tassie that we did! Breathtaking ! And is only 20 min walk to the lookout so anyone can do it. We did it on our way to Strahan. Enjoy!
