It was really delicious. If there is one thing I would likely to say, the yam roll. The topping yam was less cooked. Don't know the reason why. But everything was a good experience. :)

Super friendly staff and a feel like home vibe. With free appetizers. Clean and neat felt very premium quality service overall. If you ever go I would recommend TNT salmon sushi, hands down best in Winnipeg.
With a lot of sushi places to choose from in Winnipeg, this has been my favourite. Cute place in the heart of the Osbourne village, this place serves sushi that is very fresh and delicious. If you eat with your eyes first this is the place! Parking can be a bit tricky. Highly recommend!

Great spot for date night. Little pricier than my normal range but good for special occasions. Staff were extremely knowledgeable on the menu and super friendly.

I love their sashimi! Their salmon is always fresh, i’ve been meaning to try all their salmon related rolls. My personal favorite is tiger roll.

This used to be my favorite sushi restaurant in the city. Unfortunately I believe they've recently changed ownership and the quality of their food and service has declined, but their price has remained high. The last two times we went we had poor service and lower quality sushi than what we've been able to get for a fraction of the price at other places. Last time we went we were seated in what was a closet like space and it smelled vaguely of cat litter. The roles that had deep fried elements had a cheap oil flavor. We've ordered these particular rolls many times in the past and expected high quality and unfortunately that isn't what we received. We also waited for over an hour to receive our food and had to flag down a server to get water.

Sushi Kuni was our favourite sushi joint pre-pandemic, and then, unfortunately due to the pandemic and just the business of life, we haven't been able to return in a long time. We finally went again the other day, worried that it wouldn't live up to our memory of how great it was. Fortunately, I am so happy to post that it is still as absolutely delicious as it used to be! I cannot wait to go back again.
We had an assortment of different rolls, sushi, sashimi.. And even this time got udon yaki, which was absolutely amazing. All the food was delicious.
Very nice Korean Bulgogi beef. The servers were very good, but surprised I wanted to speak in Mandarin (they are fluent).
Lunch buffet is daily for $26 and Dinner buffet is $33. However lunch specials M-F start at 6.99 with soup and salad cheap and quick. Not highest quality but not the worst

Delicious! Tried Bon Sushi rather than my usual sushi takeout place downtown and I'm glad I did. Portions are very good size and the fish is generous. Will go again!
Top 3 in Winnipeg! Atmosphere is great and the sushi is very high quality, fresh and fairly priced. Their service is also excellent, my friend and I can’t eat mirin, and they made a batch of rice for us without it so we can eat as well.

First time here since my usual place stopped the all-you-can-eat, and both me and my spouse were impressed! Sushi was delicious, service was FAST and the employees were very friendly and attentive to taking away empty plates. We will be back. (We went yesterday for lunch)

This is my first time seeing anyone put rice and breadcrumbs inside the sushi roll and cover them with a ton of breadcrumbs on top to disguise them as salmon sushi rolls
This used to one of my favorite sushi places in Osborne village. In the last 5 years, it has gone downhill and tonight was my final visit. Do not waste your time eating their less than fresh fish and dealing with the alarmingly rude staff. Walk 5 minutes away to Akindo Sushi bistro where you will have the most delicious food and kind servers. Zero stars.

Food is delicious and worth the value all around, try to go for lunch as it’s about 10$ cheaper then the dinner “all you can eat”

Service can be absolutely slow and incompetent. I’ve had to ask for wasabi multiple times to multiple staff and they all said they’d get it for me.

I had to physically walk to the sushi bar and ask for it.

Restaurant is very crammed feeling (tables are fairly close together)

Would return again but only because of the quality of food for the price.

The quality and size of the roles are phenomenal. I'm usually disappointed at the portion size in many sushi places. Not this place! It's the best!
We come here every single time we visit Winnipeg and always have a great experience. The sushi is always great and staff are friendly. They have multiple gluten free options (sadly they don’t have a gluten free menu, something they should consider, but the chef always marks off everything that’s gluten free if asked) and they make it separately and specify which ones are gluten free when brought to the table. The ones in my image are not gluten free but the people who ate them said they’re very good too! If you are wanting gluten free you need to bring your own soy sauce.
I work in the area so I’ve been coming here for years on my lunches. I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this gem yet. I’ve been to many and this makes one of my favorite sushi places in the city. The rolls are decent sized and I find the ratio of rice to fish and other fillings very satisfying. The sashimi is fresh, quality is always good! It’s unfortunate that some reviews haven’t had the same experience but I haven’t had any problems here.
Went for appitizer and dinner. Great service and food was great. I will be going again

The food was good! It was fresh and tasty.

A year ago I would of said this was the best sushi in winnipeg but now it's the worse in the city! The rice was hard the amount in the middle of the sushi was so small it didn't tease like anything and to top it off the young guy and girl making it kept whispering to each other and smirking at me like they did something to the sushi. I would go anywhere else, You will be disappointed if you eat here!!
I love this place!! It's a bit more on the expencive side but it's absolutely worth it! I have a great time every time I go! Friendly staff, very quick and efficient, food was out very quick! I usually get either a platter to go or stay for the all you can eat options!
Fantastic!!! Such good fresh food. And great prices as well, with a nice variety of items available. Highly recommend!
We were seated right away and given menus. Then we waited and watched three tables who came in after us get seated, have their orders taken and food served to them before our orders were even taken. At least 45 minutes. A different waitress than the one who seated us finally came to take our order and the food came about half an hour after that. By then we had to eat quickly so we wouldn't be late to an appointment.
The sushi was very good, but not worth that amount of waiting.
It was definitely annoying seeing people who arrived after us eating. We were unable to catch the eye of the wait staff.

We ordered quite a few rolls and were disappointed with 5 of them. There were 2 that were enjoyable. The amount of tempura flakes was over the top in 3 different rolls (5total), it was pretty much all flakes. A roll that was to contain mango was barely a piece of mango. Won’t order again until they put actual ingredients in their rolls. They also charge $1,75 for extra ginger and there’s not much extra for this price. Used to be a really great place!

Update: was up all night sick from it and now others feel sick from it, too, the next morning.

As the reviews have stated , the food is quite tasty. However , I received very poor service . Everyone that came in or placed an order were treated cheerfully and with respect. I have dined in twice and did not receive that treatment even after complimenting their food. The second time , as I was leaving I was asked if I had paid for my meal !!!!! I rarely think anyone is being racist towards me but this time I believe that was the case . Very disappointed to be treated this way . Good food or not , there is no way I'm giving them my money again.
The go-to place in Winnipeg for sushi. The Naru Roll is the best sushi roll I've ever eaten. Creamy house sauce, fish eggs, crispy pawn. YUM.
The sushi boats are highly recommended for shareables. The nigiri is fresh and tasty. Cheap drinks are the cherry on top. Service is fast. Highly recommend.

The food was really good! It was really kind of them to propose to me the all you can eat lunch menu (~30$ with tx) even if it was nearly the end time when I got there!
The food was good, but the plate a little small (which is normal since it is a all you can eat!) so make sure to order 2 times what you eat normally
The place was completely empty when I got there at 3:00 so it was really strange to eat alone in an empty place (but the service was fast so I won't complain!)
The service was really good too! They were patient with me even when I asked them many times to repeat themselves (they speak to fast for a new English speaker like me) and took they time to explain

Had sushi for lunch. The staff are always so nice and polite. Everything was great, except I didn't have enough soy sauce for my last three pieces when I got the two roll/box special. Not sure if that means I ask for two... But maybe I use too much 🧐... Either way, I'll be back!

Food is usually great! Only thing preventing the 5* is that the wait time can be quite long, and the staff over worked. If they hired additional people, would be an easy 5 stars!!
Very nice and cozy place. Roll is delicious and personal is very good. I will bring here my family again.
Very delicious sushi, I guess the best in Winnipeg.
I've ordered lunch special, for 15cad I received quite a big portion, and what impressed me the most is that sushi had less rice and more tasty fresh fillings. Great! Will definitely order with you again!

Good luck!

Good food. Each sushi roll had plenty of fish and the ingredients seemed fresh and tasty. Rice is seasoned well and overall a good sushi place.
We went during lunch on a Friday and did not realize how slow service would be at this time. The place was pretty quiet at first but with patrons coming in to dine in for lunch and takeout and delivery getting picked up, it got pretty crowded and the service was incredibly slow. We didn't get our orders taken for at least 20 minutes.
The restaurant was decent and clean.

I am in Honba sushi heaven. I don't know how you guys do it time and time again? The rainbow roll is the most amazing thing on the planet! The salmon and tuna draped over the top are so fresh and soft and buttery it melts in your mouth!! The avocado is always the perfect texture. The rolls are exquisitely made. Nothing ever falls apart. I also order the dragon roll which is delicious and perfectly made each time. The miso soup was hot on delivery and it is delicious. Let me also say that the ginger is always SO fresh!! Fresher than anywhere I have ever ordered sushi. I have probably ordered a year now and this is the most consistent sushi restaurant for highest quality super rolls. But they are pricey, so I can only occasionally splurge on it. If I could eat here everyday I would!

But what are those little candies in the delivery? I can't understand the language but they taste like coffee and something sweet at the same time.

Anyways thank you guys, keep up the great work!!

Best buffet ever, been to this place for a while now. Their salmon quality is above average most of the time. That alone worth its price( about $35 ish )

Umi Sushi has by far the best tasting sushi in the city. Friendly staff, amazing food, great service, Highly recommend this place.
A friend and I go there all the time, it's run by a young husband and wife team who are always friendly. The sushi is always fresh and delicious and there is a large selection of appetizers, noodles and sushi. The presentation is always on point. It's definitely one of our favorite places to go.

Amazing kitchen items, the only thing I don't like here is the crab sashimi. But everything else is surprising good. Also the price is unbeatable.
The best sushi in Winnipeg, and the quality of their food is very consistent. We're huge sushi fans and have tried many sushi places in Winnipeg until we found Honba. Their price is obviously higher than other places but you get what you pay for. The portion is double the portion of other places, and the quality, freshness is far better. I don't know what other people reviews/complaints about their price. It's been like that for a long time, they didn't suddenly increase their price like what others said. Highly recommended their lunch special! That's our go to anytime we feel like sushi.
Good price for all you can eat! There is a limit to the sashimi (15 pieces max per person), but other than that it was great! Lots of options and appetizers which are always fun to try! The sushi was also very good! Would come back! The staff were also very friendly!

I think also the overall restaurant could use a bit of maintenance but thats nit picky.
Decently priced all you can eat sushi lunch buffet. Sushi was up to par among other sushi restaurants in Winnipeg. The chicken teriyaki noodles were great and not oily. Chicken Katsu was one of the best tasting I’ve had so far.

Wow! Excellent experience all around! I’ve passed the place many times and decided to stop in and grab a roll to go and walk to the Forks to eat it. Service was amazing…super friendly and efficient. Packaging was perfect and presentation was really really nice! I’ll be back for sure!
Firstly I want to say the food is absolutely delicious. We dined in and I was skeptical because my first impression was that the outside looked shabby. The inside isn’t much better… and the ambiance leaves a lot to be desired. Uncomfortable chairs and less than stellar floor conditions.
…but the food! It’s absolutely delicious and we were not at all disappointed with all the options we tried. The place was a buzz with constant takeout orders and multiple tables of people eating in the restaurant.
If I had a suggestion it would be to update and replace some of the interior and please clean the floors.
However, all that being said we will be back for some fantastic sushi in the future.

I've had great sushi in Toronto and Vancouver and I have to say Wasabi rivals best sushi restaurants in these two great cities. Tracey is amazing. Her stories and how she came to Winnipeg and her restaurant just amazes and she is such a great host. You gotta eat here! The Winnipeg jets roll was amazing as well as the OMG roll....all specially made.
Food was absolutely fantastic! Everything we ordered was incredible. Surprisingly, the Winnipeg Jets roll was the highlight roll...I know right. Service was great, I have nothing bad say about this dinner.

Finally able to try this sushi place, ordered a lot of food because we wanted to try what they have to offer and I must say we were not disappointed. Ramen was good my only critique was I would prefer a bigger bowl and more broth, nigiri sushi is also good sushi rice is on point, tempura is just ok, karaage is really good and a must try, crunchy roll is also amazing, but the star of the show for me is the salmon aburi sushi! Smoky and fatty and yummy, highly recommended.

Price is on the higher end but its worth the quality of food you get.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place, because their service is always phenomenal and their products are always delicious and high quality. When I can get it. What I don't love is how unreliable their hours are. They're posted as open to 6PM, but it's not always that. There might be a Jets game and I can show up at 6:30PM and they're still open and I love that. I might have to order off the menu and pay full price which is fine, because they don't always have things prepared I can eat (due to allergies). I'll always order off the menu and pay full price if I nothing is prepared and I'm very happy to do that to support the business and staff.
What's not a good experience is that I can show up at 4PM on a Jets game evening and they're already closed. Or at 3PM on a non-Jets game day and they're already closed. Sometimes I go by at 2:30PM and they're already closed, today, a Jets home game . This was three consecutive weekdays in a row. Maybe I need to call ahead or something, but if you're not open until 6PM, don't post your hours open until 6PM...? Especially not if you're closing before 3PM. I'll keep checking by if I want sushi but I'm not making anymore special trips. Please be consistent.
Best sushi in Winnipeg! I come here a few times a month. I always get an order of the spicy jumbo roll (with salmon)and the Naru roll because they’re easy 10/10s. If you’re vegetarian they also have a huge vegetarian menu!

I’ve tried the October rain roll after seeing recommendations here and it wasn’t my favourite. Still good, but way too much crispy yams for my liking!

Sashimi quality is great and melts in your mouth, but portions could be bigger.

Overall a real hidden gem and a place you need to try!

pls nobody go here. It's literally the best salmon, crab, calamari everything sushi. I don't want anyone to take this away from me it's so tasty. The salmon tastes fresh and is mouth watering, the sauce is beyond tasty and wel balanced with its spice and the tempura is sometime purple which looks p cool too. Idk. Hella tasty and none of you should eat it. Go away. thank u.

oh also the dude at the front is super sweet and very nice. Sushi is so hard to make this good, especially takeout. if you're going to ignore me and go, tip ya locals well. okbye
Best chopped scallop roll and salmon/fatty salmon nigiri I’ve had in a long time. Melt in your mouth and very hearty pieces. This is going to become my new go-to sushi place. Go support this local mom and pop shop.

Incredibly delicious sushi for on-the-go! It's freshly made every morning and there's always a good selection. The guy who works there seems to work alone, so I hope he gets even more business so that he has company while making delicious food! He's also super nice. Go get yummy sushi if you're able to, it's worth it!

Also, the price is really cheap for what you get. I've gone twice in a row now since they re-opened and the only downside is that it's going to be bad for my credit card...
They actually go half price in the evening and will even make a fresh roll if you have a allergy. The sushi tastes the same everywhere. Same fish? Nice rice texture.

I loved the place.
The place is clean, I Loved their sushi and kagaala and all the fried plates, they are so crispy, tender, and fresh.

I had to wait for more than an hour to get the Ramen, and Ramen was not as good as their other items.

They were very busy and had lots of orders, staff members were so very friendly and tried to assist as much as they could, they gave me free vanilla ice cream scoop as an apology for the long wait time.

I recommend ordering sushi and fried items from the menu, as they are so good.
As for Ramen, it is below average.

Was ready to give these guys a five star rating before I even got to try the food. They were super friendly, great customer service,
Prices are super good, even without the 50% off. The cashier was helpful and knowledgeable, food is great! They even give you soy sauce in a little condiment container so you can dip your sushi, rather than those annoying soy sauce packets that explode everywhere when opened. Will definitely be back!

Probably the best sushi place in Winnipeg. Always fresh and very accommodating. The restaurant is a converted old house and may not be very flashy but the food is delicious. Prices are above average but well worth it. Highly recomend it.

Nice people and decent food, BUT THE SUSHI RICE IS NO LONGER GLUTEN FREE because they include non-gluten free oats. It seems like a strange choice for the restaurant to make because you are alienating anyone with gluten sensitivities, particularly given that sushi is often gluten friendly.

Been to this restaurant twice now and I have a lot of good things to say about this place. The servers are prompt, helpful and quick. The place is a little bit small but clean. As for the food, I had tried 2 different dishes(see pictures) and i can say it's delicious and someting that you will definitely come back to. To nitpick though, their dishes are a little but expensive and portion size is just average. If they can improve on serving size with the same quality, I would definitely give it a 5 🌟.

BTW, I tried their spicy ramen and it's quite good as well!

This place is more of a take out restaurant. There are some tables with communal seating. They have a hot water dispenser serving barley tea that is complimentary.

We ordered an assortment of rolls to take home as well as 2 salads and a miso soup.

I felt everything was good. The rice isn't the best, but most sushi places in Winnipeg aren't... The fish to rice ratio is much better here than at other restaurants. I also like that they cut their rolls smaller so it's easier to eat.

It's one of the better ones in the city. Not a lot of high end stuff but if you want a solid experience with the Staples, this is a good choice. Pricing is reasonable for what they were offering (not expensive, not cheap).

Service was pretty much non existent. They were polite but do not speak much English.

A quaint little restaurant just off the Stephenson Hwy. Near enough to The Forks & main St Boniface attractions. The server was attentive, despite being the only one on the floor. There were a lot of take-out orders coming through, but the chef seemed to prioritize well because we got our food at a desirable waiting time.

The food itself was pretty good; normal rolls were fresh and straightforward. If you do go here, try at least one of their special rolls, because that is where they shine. They have one of the more creative and eye-catching plates of special rolls in town at this certain price range.

SUSHI PIZZA: It had a really nice crust and the salmon worked really well with their sauce. I also can't complain about the overload of yam flakes on it because I love those
DYNAMITE ROLL: Opted for the spicy dynamite and the shrimp tempura inside was nice and crunchy.

Definitely more on the casual side and open environment.

TO-GO REVIEW: Grabbed a couple of rolls for dinner near the entrance of the TD Centre. Good selection, easy transaction. Dynamite roll was really tasty with a nice teriyaki sauce. The spicy shrimp roll was also good, but the tempura crumbs do wilt a bit over time, which I expected for takeout. I would definitely grab some rolls in the future.

TIP: They do offer a discount when there are some rolls left near closing time.

Classic hand-brew coffee and fresh chicken club sandwich. What could ask more for breakfast to go. They also have cozy tables to chill with friends.
The best breakfast in the sky-walk downtown. Highly recommended.

Service was friendly but English was not a strong point.

Skip the seafood miso. It's extra money but there was no extra flavor. It came lukewarm.
Also skip the lovely salmon roll unless you really like that sauce. All I could taste was the sauce and this deep fried tempura taste. You couldn't taste the individual ingredients.
The yaki udon was ok and at the correct price point.
I didn't prefer the tempura. It is acceptable but the style wasn't the way I love it.
The takoyaki was good. One of the better items.
As was the caterpillar roll. I liked how they did the face on it.
The pork bun was mediocre. The one from r call was better and I believe it would be much cheaper.

Environment is very comfortable. The food seems hit and miss, but menu items costs lean towards being pricier... So what do I get for this extra money? I'm not 100% sure... For example, basic tuna Maki was $5.25.
Would need to try it again and order different things to re classify and get a more firm number. For initial impression, this Gets a 3/5 for me.
Sushi no good. Certainly not Japanese standard.
My favorite sushi place! Always fresh and tasty, never a long wait. The sushi pizza is great, highly recommend if you never tried it. The only thing I'm missing is sushi with mango. I believe it used to be on the menu, but not anymore.
