Will never go back again!!! Very disappointed! Yesterday I went with my husband and young son to have a family meal. We chose the all you can eat menu for the variety, which had a large selection. My son is a picky eater and we are constantly trying to increase what he will eat. He loves mango so he agreed to try mango sushi, however when it came out he decided he only wanted to eat the mango part after trying one. So we took all the mango out of the remaining three pieces. My husband and I also tried torched sushi for the first time, which we really did not like the taste of. It tasted like unburned propane/butane.We ate all but one piece. We were told rudely by two different staff members that we would be charged full price for the one torched piece of sushi and the three discarded sushi wraps that my little one would not eat. We were having a great meal up until that happened. We have been to numerous all you can eat sushi restaurant and never have staff gone up to us and told us that we have to eat it or else they will charge us, granted we are originally from ontario and the selection of sushi restaurants are much more, they all have that policy but never enforce it on children under the age of six and not for one piece or uneaten portion of a piece. we did not order just for the reason of ordering but if someone gave you a bottle of bleach and you sacrificed to drink a 1/4 of it you would not be expected to pay for the bottle if you could not stomach the last 1/4 and yes we understand the policy but sometimes there are certain circumstances that make it not possible to eat everything you want to. I strongly do not recommend this restaurant if you have young children. We are not a wasteful family and to be honest when you’re paying the same price as all you can eat five star sushi restaurants in Ontario you deserve a little respect further more we did not even order 87 dollars worth of sushi. You can fool some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of a time, the quality is poor .

I'd say this is one of the best place in Newfoundland for sushi and sashimi. They've got welcoming service and fantastic food. All my family enjoyed them. The miso soup served before the food was served warmed my hungry belly.

Absolutely fantastic bowl of ramen. The smoked pork belly shoyu was delicious with a great balance of flavor. The noodles are handmade in the shop and had a great chew to them. Broth had tons of soy flavor but wasn't salty.

Service was super friendly, and the shop is a interesting blend of Japanese and skate shop

My wife and I have always been a fan of sun and sushi, however, today we had a completely different experience. Although the food was delicious, my wife and I both got food poisoning from the Kenmount road location today. We both shared 5 special rolls off of their all you can eat lunch menu.

I've been here many times before and it's always amazing... BUT what prompted my review is that I was there on Saturday, and I had the best fries and dip I've had in my entire life. If there are Masterchef level fries out there, then it was the ones I had. Don't miss out.

Just finished the all-you-can-eat option and tested many of the options on the menu. All of the food was severed in a good time and the food was delicious. Staff was really friendly. Would definitely recommend it and will be back for sure. Good prices and great food.

If I want to choose one sushi restaurant in St. John's, I will defiantly go with Sun Sushi.

Last time we had Sushi Roll an amazing! We need try new foods. We had order a stir fried noodle that was absolutely Delicious. very satisfied.

We back there again and again.

I came here with my wife on a very cold night for some hot ramen. The restaurant was so cold that I might as well stayed outside. We asked the staff to increase the temperature and they said there was nothing they could do. We waited for a long time for the ramen and when it finally came out it was great. Lots of toppings and big portions, however we found it to be quite inconsistent. One dishes’ meat was too sweet while the other one was good, despite both being pork belly.
Overall not the best place, price was expensive, but would work to fix the craving.

The food is good, not the best sushi Ive had locally but definitely not anything I’d complain about. The atmosphere is really pretty and most staff were super nice with the exception of one we had take an order.
I didn’t realize the all you can eat menu was ordered in person, I’ve only experienced either a paper menu you fill out and pass in or a tablet system for ordering. It was a little awkward, took a long time between orders and some items we ordered definitely got lost or didn’t show.

I don’t know if we will be making a return trip back, but overall not a bad experience.

Perfect spot for sushi and ramen! The restaurant was immaculate, and the food was superb. It's an ideal choice for a date night for Valentine day

This was my first time visiting, I had the fried chicken curry bowl. Delicious. Portion was large and filling. I'll be back.

Ramen - delicious.
4 stars only because shrimp ramen has small amount of shrimps comparing to pork ramen where was 3 huge pieces.

Over the last 2.5 years I’ve tried all of their main broths - Miso, Shoyu, Tantanmen, and Dirty shrimp. Initially, they were pretty good; however, recently all of them have been bland and lacking in flavour. It has been a constant let down in the past year. Ironically, as their quality of ramen constantly decreased, their prices continuously increased, and it gets harder and harder to justify the price of their unappetizing ramen. Noodle Nami on Rowan St. has arguably better ramen for ~$4-5 less. The one good thing Bad Bones has going for them are their side dishes - they are a great bang for your buck. All in all, if you’ve ever had half-decent ramen in another city, I’d recommend you skip out on Bad Bones for your ramen cravings in St. John’s.

I ate here for the first time with some co-workers and I was very impressed to say the least. The restaurant was clean, comfortable and very welcoming. I also loved the decor and Japanese atmosphere. There was so much selection with regards to sushi that it was hard to decide but I did order the Salmon Nagiri, BBQ Eel Roll and Chicken Noodle. I was SO impressed with the salmon and BBQ eel, they were both well made and delicious! The soup was served in a cast iron pot bowl which was piping hot and added a rustic/traditional feel to the dining experience and was also simple but delicious. It wax also nice to see so many vegetarian options. The service was exceptional!!! I could not have asked for better anywhere in the city. I absolutely cannot wait to go back and try different dishes! Thank you so much, I loved my experience here!

This is such a lovely spot, and I have to say, the staff was so friendly!

We came down during the pedestrian mall, and had no trouble finding a spot to sit down at around 1PM. Everything was decorated nicely, and it was really clean too.

We ordered almost right away and had some dumplings, which were honestly my favorite! And before we could even finish those, we had our main dish come out. The broth was absolutely amazing, and all the toppings were fresh and cooked really well.

Our server was so kind, and the atmosphere was wonderful! We seen a few people pick up some orders too, so if you didn't want to eat in, that seems like a great option.

Exceeded my expectations. We ordered the Pork Tantanmen and Pork Belly Shoyu. Both had plenty of pork and a good amount of noodles and vegetables. Also added the homemade hot sauce which was sweet and spicy. It's not quite traditional but was quite good. Service was good and efficient for having only one person on staff for the whole restaurant. Decor was familiar for a ramen restaurant with the menu on a wall chalkboard and benches along the wall and chairs on the other side. Would definitely recommend.
